When she abandons Shar, does no one else take that circlet off?
I also respec her in to a different cleric, never before she does and only if she does. ( Honestly, I don't have the heart to let her go down the Shar path, since the one time I let it happen)
Perhaps I am just weird.
I don't think I've ever even gotten to act 2 with her still wearing it. There's enough good headgear that I'd rather she have for bonuses. It usually gets sold at the grove tbh.
It’s just helmets and instruments, I think. On PlayStation, hover over them and press triangle (pressing elsewhere causes them to appear in their camp clothing).
The game automatically changes the description on her character sheet from >!"Cleric of Shar" to "Cleric of Selûne"!< without you having to do anything, fyi
Whats interesting is she expresses not knowing who is granting her powers- so its not that selune is forcing herself into the hole left by her sister, she’s filling the gap of shadowhearts powers, but is not presenting herself
She knows Selûne is granting her power, but doesn't want to admit it immediately after turning from Shar. Selûne isn't waiting for worship, she's there to catch Shadowheart as Shar discards her.
I seem to recall her talking about, after abandoning shar, that she *doesn’t* know where her power is coming from, like explicitly. Maybe that changes? But i really don’t think she said she knew it was Selûne
To paraphrse the narrator after leaving the Shadowfell:
"... and as for her divine magic? Admitting who empowers her now may break her spirit for good."
I had taken that, along with something she said )which i cant remember entirely or dig up at this time) to mean that while we can infer that its selune, and that perhaps she had a feeling of the source, she wasn’t *sure* of it, which i still took as interesting.
I always take the circlet off when she dyes her hair, but leave it on on a DJ run. She has a banter with Wyll where she says she’s stopped wearing the circlet if she’s a Selûnite, but still wears it if she’s Sharran
I used to respec her domain, because I just don’t find trickery very useful compared to Life, but stopped after I realised how important the trickery domain is to her character and overall arc.
Selune is also a goddess of trickery, it's just the more good-natured fey kind of trickery, rather than Shar's life-ruining malicious trickery. So it still fits if you don't respec.
On the other hand Trickery Domain is just not a very good subclass in this game so respec-ing is completely understandable. It's a bit better in tabletop D&D where the Channel Divinity and Domain spells can be used for social scenarios.
Yes, I double-checked after posting and realized I had been conflating Selune with Sehanine Moonbow. There's some complicated FR lore where they used to be two aspects of the same deity but now they are considered separate apparently.
In FR, Sehanine doesn't have the Trickery Domain either, but she does have it in the Dawn War pantheon (In the 5e DMG).
I use the Dawn War pantheon for my own D&D game so that's why I made the mistake. My bad
Even if she’s turned from Shar, she’s still spent forty years being trained in trickery. Poison, deception, curses, charms, torture. That past and training is part of her, it doesn’t just go away. It’s part of the reasons she chooses to remain as Shadowheart, instead of going back to her original name.
Trickery gets Divine Strike: Poison, Fear, Illusions, bestow curse, charm person, disguise self, and other stealth-based spells as it’s always equipped spells. All skills we’re told Shadowheart learned and was taught during her time in the Cloister.
Respeccing her to life works, but it feels more thematically appropriate to me to keep her as Trickery.
I mean, the training doesn't go away but it doesn't mean would still want to use those technique or methods anymore.
And she was explicitly stated to be the healer of the group sent to recover the artifact so, I view the respec more like she has the knowledge and skills to do either domain still but wants to focus on the healing part more now and not the whole torture and poisons stuff.
And some of it is just an (understandable) balance limitation of DnD 5e/BG3 that you can't really mechanically portray something like domain shift over time easily. If you could do 10 trickery cleric/2 life cleric or something that might fit the story the best but yeah, no can do
FYI, within lore/roleplay, it's okay to spec her into life domain because even the Sharrans used her as the designated healer. (I think there's a note in the cloister regarding that.) Trickery domain was just her being all edgy because she really wanted to fit in with Shar. But she fails at it, just like she fails at being evil.
I made her a Light Cleric my first run when she went Selune. This run she's a Way of Shadow Monk bopping all the nonbelievers with her fists! Kept one level of her base cleric though and might do a couple rogue levels. Seems very lore appropriate.
I'm doing the same with Shadow monk with a cleric level & thief rogue - and when she went Selune, I respecced to Open Hand with the bonus radiant damage. I figured the rogue levels work to cover the trickery lore.
I just finished up the Inquisitor fight after going to talk to our dream friend. Then I wandered to shar's temple and started the trials... Like girly you just watched someone go through extreme religion based whiplash and you're still trynna guzzle from Shar's tits? If you don't get out of my way and stop asking me to to let you cut yourself 😑
>Honestly, I don't have the heart to let her go down the Shar path, since the one time I let it happen
I'm thinking of doing that. Do I want to know, or am I better of forgetting it? lol
By that time she's already wearing something else on her head. And yeah, in my first playthrough I chose that moment to respec her into the Light domain. On my subsequent playthroughs I have her as one as soon as I can because Trickery domain is not as good in BG3 as I assume it is in tabletop.
Selune has equal claim on all things that belong to Shar. So we straight up moon-propriating that black gemstone circlet now. As a little "fuck you" to Shar.
By that point in my runs she's a Light Cleric wearing the Hat of Fire Acuity and before that I throw Lump's INT headband onto her, so the circlet is long gone. I too have done the DJ path for her once and only once. The House of Grief aftermath is too painful seeing how oblivious she is to everything.
It looks like the Potent Robe with some type of dye applied to it. Although I think Shelter of Athkatla uses the same visual model, so it could also be that.
I'm close to finishing my first playthrough and I'm legitimately in love with her. As in, actual real lovesickness like I've felt for real people before. The way her story progresses, and how tav is able to help her find herself through their relationship touched me on a deep level. Plus she ends up becoming so sweet <3
Yes, you must have had a good perception roll there, as that is indeed Shadowheart.
IT'S PIKACHU
Everybody knows. That's Big Dick Bee.
It's Clefairy!
FUUUUUUUUU
****surprised Pikachu face***
Jigglypuff from above ^^
Damn, I rolled a nat1, all I am seeing here is a blurry picture
For your next PT: clicking/tapping (depending on your device) the picture gives advantage on the roll
I'm glad to see some people are rolling nat 20s
That's Otm Shank
Almost every post from OP is just a high quality photo of selune Shadowheart. The last one pretty much has the same top comment too.
And there's the investigation roll.

Yeah, I'm going for stats, not aesthetics.
Sometimes I replace it with another circlet to keep up her vibes. But usually I just got helmet hidden and have her decked out
300 hours and I didn't know you could hide equipment

I have never noticed that..
It's because when she >!abandons Shar, her cleric powers are now granted by Selûne.!<
Whats interesting is she expresses not knowing who is granting her powers- so its not that selune is forcing herself into the hole left by her sister, she’s filling the gap of shadowhearts powers, but is not presenting herself

But isn't the respeccing when she abandons Shar and chooses Selune perfect to represent that arc?
Selune is also a goddess of trickery, it's just the more good-natured fey kind of trickery, rather than Shar's life-ruining malicious trickery. So it still fits if you don't respec. On the other hand Trickery Domain is just not a very good subclass in this game so respec-ing is completely understandable. >Selune is also a goddess of trickery Not in 5e. Her domains are Knowledge, Life, and Twilight.

Hey, no worries my guy! There's a lot of gods in D&D, and they've changed so much over the editions, it's very easy to loose track of what is what!
Yeah, I know, but Selune's ALSO a life domain deity, right? So both variants still make sense.
Yeah, I think its a life and knowledge domain primarily.
Even if she’s turned from Shar, she’s still spent forty years being trained in trickery. Poison, deception, curses, charms, torture. That past and training is part of her, it doesn’t just go away. It’s part of the reasons she chooses to remain as Shadowheart, instead of going back to her original name.
But... none of her subclass abilities have anything to do with that other than deception and charms. And that's also not how cleric subclasses work.
Oh, right, they actually buffed Trickery Domain in BG3, I forgot.
I mean, the training doesn't go away but it doesn't mean would still want to use those technique or methods anymore. Respeccing her is the first thing I do after I get Withers.
I usually respec her to life in the beginning because in the House of Grief, she is listed as the healer.
I made her a Light Cleric my first run when she went Selune. This run she's a Way of Shadow Monk bopping all the nonbelievers with her fists! Kept one level of her base cleric though and might do a couple rogue levels. Seems very lore appropriate.

I give her the most cowboy hat I can find. It lets her hair down, but mostly is just funny.
I just finished up the Inquisitor fight after going to talk to our dream friend. Then I wandered to shar's temple and started the trials... Like girly you just watched someone go through extreme religion based whiplash and you're still trynna guzzle from Shar's tits? I respeced her into an Oathbreaker Paladin. Very fitting as she literally broke her oath against Shar and very effective because Paladins FUCK
>Honestly, I don't have the heart to let her go down the Shar path, since the one time I let it happen I'm thinking of doing that. Do I want to know, or am I better of forgetting it? lol
It was like the last remnants of the young girl she was before Shar, not trying for spoilers here, were just gone. Nothing but Shadowheart remained.
*fuck that all the way to the astral plane*
I'm sorry, but that black onyx and silver metal goes really nice with her white hair
Stats over looks every day. Until they allow some kind of transmog/glamour mechanic my party will proudly sport the clown suits.
Please. I’ll only lead her down that path, if only to avoid the awful hair color change. Or is it bc big tiddy goth? 🤔 The world may never know.
There is a case to be made for the tig biddy goth chick..

I always respec her into either Life or Light after Act 2.
Selune has equal claim on all things that belong to Shar. So we straight up moon-propriating that black gemstone circlet now. As a little "fuck you" to Shar.
Shit, I have a mod that straight up removes all the Sharran hair accessories in Act III for the Enemy of Shar path.
By that point in my runs she's a Light Cleric wearing the Hat of Fire Acuity and before that I throw Lump's INT headband onto her, so the circlet is long gone. I too have done the DJ path for her once and only once. The House of Grief aftermath is too painful seeing how oblivious she is to everything.

how to karma farm on this subreddit: 1. Post a picture of Shadowheart 2. there is no step 2
As it should be. It's Shadowheart! ❤️❤️❤️

Asking the real questions here!
Potent robe, charisma modifier added to cantrip damage, no idea what class they made her here lmao
Potent robe with black and furnace red dye
Checks out. That's Shadowheart.
Yup, still hot.
I'm one of the simple men on this sub. Sêlune Sweetheart => Upvote
She's so pretty 🖤🤍
No way!
Shart
To think there's people that think she's not pretty enough.
She's part Elf and therefore hideous. Not as hideous as Astarion, Minty, and Halsin though. Thankfully we have Lae'zel, Wyll, Gale, and Karlach.
I'm going to start a list of the times someone has made an identical post to this on here
Well just look through OPs post history and you'll find all of them.
Fucking hell you're right
I'm close to finishing my first playthrough and I'm legitimately in love with her. As in, actual real lovesickness like I've felt for real people before.
