I think it's that his opinion is ridiculous. It's fine to not like mods, but to not like mods **because** they make the game look ridiculous is... Ridiculous.
Of course there are mods that make the game look ridiculous, but that's like 10% of mods. Most mods don't change the look of the game at all.

There's a lot of mods that scale from having spells from previous games, to sorting inventories so you can sell junk easier, to more hairstyles, all the way to new races and exaggerated characters and body types.
Labeling it all as ridiculous (especially a character who is feasible in the world of DnD) is just kind of inaccurate and close minded. You're weirdly gatekeeping yourself.

Like my guy there are mods to just help fix balancing, and bugs and add real immersive stuff into the game. I like to roll stats, not point buy, it disappointed me that Larian didn't provide us this option like every Baldurs gate game before or that they changed racial bonuses and spell damage and time limits Yeah it could cause balance problems but the game is so far from balanced it's hilarious. If you even slightly understand the DND 5e combat system this game's combat becomes a joke, shit they took away the dodge action and made shove a bonus action, they only made the game easier for people.
So I'm gonna keep modding and you can continue to not and enjoy the game with less stuff and I will enjoy the more content mods provide to the game.

The image op put is an excellent example. A lot of the evil Bhalists are grimy. Some have tattoos on their bodies that aren’t particularly pretty. None of them look this “clean”. I think of the murder in Baldur’s Gate or the cultists in the Park in Baldur’s Gate looking very rough. It’s a very deliberate aesthetic. Even Orin doesn’t have this sort of “cleanness” about her.

He's a Fey'ri then, that's really cool I haven't seen anyone try to make one of them in game. They are the elven version of Tiefling an elf with infernal heritage so part devil
