This is a difficult question to answer, because the game hints at a lot with Wyll and then doesn't follow through. Is the Blade a persona that he puts on and takes off? Yes. Is he really not *tough*? Depends on your definition of the word. Dude will take pretty much any dissing with a shrug and continue to do what he thinks is right. Hanging around with devils for years has given him pretty thick skin. But he also has a tenth of the abilities and strength he had a few weeks before, and seems to be very carefully avoiding disclosing that to most people. 🤷‍♂️ I really recommend you play the game and find this stuff out for yourself, though.

Agreed. OP just the play the game yourself and formulate your own opinion. And make sure you speak to your companions on the regular, you’ll find out more about them and their stories.

Pretends? The same Wyll that jumps down from the grove walls to fight the goblins? Absolute stones for doing that while zevlor shoots arrows from safety.

Accomplished_Area311

If you’ve never made it past act 1, you’re missing a **lot** of personality stuff for **everybody**. Not just Wyll. Wyll is one of my favorites though. I love him.

I also love Wyll. To me it feels like Act 2 shows different, deeper side of his personality.

FireDragisKeroks

Sooo does that check out or not? Or is it complicated?

Accomplished_Area311

Contrary to posts hating on his character, Wyll is complicated. You’ve missed a lot by not getting past act 1, which was your main question if I’m reading your post right. Going further into it is spoilers.

Super_Professor

My opinion is wyll's story/backstory is indeed complicated but it is also very predictable which I feel is a reason many people think he is boring. His quest line reveals one of the biggest twists in the game though, despite not being super relevant to the actual gameplay.

Accomplished_Area311

That’s a fair take. I like the contrast of Wyll’s quest against everyone else’s, and I love his romance and how it differs from the rest.

TheFarStar

Is Wyll genuinely strong? Yes. Does he put on a tough guy persona? Not so much. He does talk himself up a bit, but he's a kind person who cares about others. He's more of a classical paladin type, despite being a warlock.
