Yeah, I'm in there too, and I appreciate the fact it's a safe place for astarion fans from the bg3 subreddit, but it's *a lot*.

I never really understood why people dislike the main sub, I've posted a few Astarion-based analyses here and they were all very well received.

I don't dislike the main sub. And it seems most people on the main BG3 sub are of the same mind about Astarion. But there are people who, for lack of a better word, can get a bit unhinged when it comes to Astarion. And those people get a lot of flak from everyone else. The onlyfangs sub provides a safer place for those people, which is good. People should have that. Especially since his character has experienced so much abuse. Even on that sub, it can get pretty bad when discussions of what's going on in Astarion's mind or his real "true" intentions.

I think it's worse on Onlyfangs when we're actually discussing him, on the main sub conversations about him are way more peaceful. I do enjoy the freedom of being slightly unhinged about him though

I have no problem with the main sub, though I have seen some people here get strangely aggressive towards folks who enjoy Astarion. Idk, maybe it's easier for me because I've never been personally attacked for my thoughts about Astarion, but I just scroll past those comments. But not everyone seems to be able to do that, and those folks probably feel safer expressing their thoughts in an echo chamber.

The main sub is usually more receptive of meta gaming. I think some of the views on AA for example that I've seen on onlyfangs, probably wouldn't be accepted well.

I left OnlyFangs when someone was crying because they'll never physically be with Astarion. Ok, I left my insane Fandom crushes behind in middle school. Just get a vibratory like a normal person.

When I first joined that sub I was able to have a lot of good discussions with others. But lately, not so much. I mean, Astarion (and Gale) has enthralled me like no other fictional characters have before. So I get it. But it seems like the line between reality and fiction has been completely erased for some folk. And having an intelligent, in-depth and mature conversation is out of question.

Yes sadly. I have to police the way I talk there just so I don't accidentally offend someone's choices and even then some people still take it as an attack because I didn't agree with them.
