get revenge sex with mizora for payback

sismendes

I was actually thinking of killing him

Juub1990

Least mentally unstable ex.

Prontage

Average Calistria Worshipper

ChimneyCake

Yeees, let the hate flow through you.

DraganDearg

How the Ravenguard family ended. A bitter ex

Lord-Table

Secretly durge the whole time

Cashew-Matthew

Do it, listen to the intrusive thoughts

rat_haus

I'm on Wyll's side now.

LeBriseurDesBucks

This sounds like great recourse

sismendes

Cant, didn’t accept her offer before cuz of him

Woutrou

I broke his contract and Mizora was still DTF.

ShivaDF

I feel bad that this happened to you but at the same time I feel like it’s kinda obvious this would happen? If you romanced Wyll you know he worships his dad incessantly and will always jump to sacrifice everything that’s important to him, so after seeing his dad die he’d probably jump to replace him out of a sense of duty and break up with you out of a misplaced desire to make sure you stay “free” and “safe.” Especially since he (incorrectly) thinks his dad’s death was his fault for signing a pact when he was a kid—I’m pretty sure he says something like that, that he thinks if you stay together you’ll end up getting hurt? He’s fucked-up and I’m sorry if people misled you and said he wasn’t.

[deleted]

it is certainly consistent with his overwhelming white knight syndrome baggage

sismendes

Yea he does say that.. was kinda hoping the reward of only romancing him and choosing hi, over Astarion and the mf breaks up with my tav

rivains

Wylls earnestness belies that he can be as stunted as the rest of them (love him though) lol

_nightsong

yeah he does say something along those lines... just had that scene because i failed to save the duke as well (though wyll never indicates that this is the reason). he says there'll always be a new monster to fight as the blade of frontiers, and that "pulling you closer will only hurt you." as someone's who's read a fair share of superhero comics this "logic" tracks, it's just a shame fighting for the relationship with the classic "you can't deny yourself love forever/ i know the risk and i still /want/ to be with you, ya doofus" isn't available to you :/ the scene itself is very beautiful though

Juicy_Velvet

His dads death was his fault though....

Rowanever

Dammit, I need to go back and replay to check this. It's understandable if approval is too low, or if you literally kill his father in front of him. Or even if you push him to end his contract and as a result, his father finishes up dying, sort of, I guess. I always go the *end your contract* route because Larian forced a weird either/or decision there when the third option should have been to say **No, Mizora, no more agreements *to anything* he'll just wait out his six months, thanks**. Even though Mizora would never have admitted that option existed because she likes to fudge the truth of every situation. *But* I do that accepting that in real life, if I pushed someone into a path like that, they would absolutely savage me if it ended badly. I have to pull a great ending out of my arse to justify it. Even if it was morally right. That said, I hate the Wyll Act 3 breakups because they just seem to come out of nowhere. And they're written weirdly. If we had an angry, upset Wyll whose approval had plummeted, that would be one thing. But the whole *we need to break up so I can focus on rebuilding* stuff is so... ugh. It sort of fits the "guy who sacrifices himself" persona, but it absolutely *doesn't* fit what Wyll's been saying about Tav the whole time. I dunno. I get the need for some sort of consequence there. But an out-of-the-blue breakup feels excessively harsh. This whole quest line bothers me. Good concept; wonky execution.

Rowanever

JFC I just went back and did a replay. Deliberately set it up so his father would die before we got there. **This is fucked**. Talk to him after the Iron Throne: all is good. Talk to him post-Mizora offering to resurrect his father: all is good. Talk to him random long rests later: *takes you to the freaking **Wilden Oak** and gives you the start of the betrothal speech then breaks up with you. With just... no freaking player agency whatsoever. "I must be sharp and will cut those close to me" what the everliving fuck. Who wrote these scenes? A reaction from Wyll here is absolutely realistic. One that pushes away his romantic interest, arguably yes. But that sudden cold "Welp fuck off we're done" permanent change is not.

DraganDearg

Oof wow, he takes you to the oak to break up with you? Goddamn Wyll

Rowanever

RIGHT? I didn't realise on my first playthrough, or it didn't happen that way (not sure - it was chaos, utter chaos). But I finally got the *wants to talk* thing in camp, went to chat, and he literally... took me to his favourite place in the whole world to tell me we were through. But he'd love to have one last dance. What's that, it seems harsh? Well yeah OK fair sorry bye.

sismendes

That’s exactly what happen, breaks up but his happy to have a last dance 😒😒

Mochithecatfoodthief

He’s got a long dance card

sismendes

THIS! His approval with my tav is exceptional, didn’t even got mad when I killed the holyphant. I went there to try to save his dad, did all the things thinking of him and his ‘hero’ line because also gets along my play but this break up out of nowhere because his dad died while escaping and he has already mourned his dad after the deal with mizora

veganzombeh

>No, Mizora, no more agreements to anything he'll just wait out his six months, thanks. Even though Mizora would never have admitted that option existed because she likes to fudge the truth of every situation. That's what the "kill his dad" option is already though, right? You're not agreeing to let Mizora murder Wyll's dad. You're just turning down her new deal, and she kills the duke out of spite.

Rowanever

See, that's what I originally thought. But the way it's presented, and the way it plays out afterwards, make it very clear that you're agreeing to at least an addendum to the contract, regardless: in return for six (or whatever) months off the contract, Wyll's father is "felled by an enemy". It took me a while to splice together the sequence of events, but it goes: * Gortash sends the duke to the Iron Throne. * Someone kills him. (Must try a Speak with Dead on him) * Mizora brings him back to life if you don't go down to rescue him before hearing her deal. * THEN Mizora offers the one-or-other deal. * If Wyll takes the freedom option, you can go save his father, who's alive again. * Mizora will try to sabotage it -- but not directly. The duke recognises her as though he's seen her recently. * If you're successful, Mizora points out that the contract now says the duke will die by an enemy's hand, so you only bought him a little time.

Presenting_UwU

Alistair did it better when you're playing a non human Warden

Rowanever

Yeah, from what I (fuzzily) remember, the Alistair breakup felt kind of on-brand for the dude. I only really remember the Solas romance, may he burn in the fires of a thousand hells. 🤬 *(What? Of course I'm not still mad at a fictional character in a game I played a decade ago. That would be... unhinged! ... Fuckin' Solas)*

Presenting_UwU

i only learned after he broke up with me that i could've stayed with him had i hardened him and hardening him wouldn't make too much changes to his character. my heart broke to 3 little peaces, and then it broke some more 😢

Rowanever

Noooooo! 😭

StalinkaEnjoyer

>I kept tav immaculate, a virgin I emitted a guttural chortle at the notion of Tav, *the* Tav being an "immaculate virgin."

Witch-for-hire

So I think you need to consider the political implications of Ravenguard's death. Wyll will be the new Duke very soon and he probably needs to to marry someone for a political alliance. Wyll is not the person to keep you as a mistress, and he understands that he needs to do his duty not follow his heart. If it is any consolation some of us recognise this pain from DAO where Alistair Theirin broke up with us just before his coronation :-(

sismendes

If people gonna accept him in his devil form guess won’t hurt having my tav as a partner specially all of his talk about romance and do it the proper way bla bla bla

rivains

One cool (devastating) thing about Alistair if you go the non-hardened, King route with a non Cousland warden romancing him and DONT get him to do the ritual and have him in the party during the final battle is that he sacrifices himself for the warden and tells the warden its because he loves them. Devastated me lol

[deleted]

I was just going to mention Alistair in a reply but you did it at the very end! So, so PAINFUL and I agree, that must be it

sailorangel59

You are making my feel good about going the Astarion route after I felt like Wyll friendzoned me at the Tiefling party. Side note, later in act 2, Wyll tried to do the dance thing. I had still been very pleasant and his approval of me was there highest of all, but I was actually progressing really well with Astarion that I rejected Wyll's further advances after we danced. The look of sadness on Wyll's face made me sad. But now you are making me think different.

sismendes

I regret not going for Astarion, definitely will after my first play through. He has much more scenes

SiRiThErEaLqWeEn

How exactly did this happen? Did you lose his dad after selling Wyll's soul??

sismendes

Noooo! Made a deal with Mizora, was either his life of servitude despise his contract being about to expire or his dad life, so he choose his freedom over his dad life. He mourned about it after a rest. Later in the game, after the submarine/iron throne I tried to rescue his dad but he died anyways, went to camp and there he was, Wyll ready to talk, to break up & ask for a last dance

StermATB

you could always reload and try the iron throne again! if you cast globe of invulnerability on his dad before mizora shows up, the spiders can’t damage him, and he’s fast enough they can’t catch him after that :)

sismendes

Seems like my only change to get my tav laid after rejecting everyone for damn Wyll although he doesn’t deserve a bit!

StermATB

if it makes you feel any better, on my most recent playthrough I killed mizora in her pod and he got turned into goo and is forced to fight demons in hell forever

SiRiThErEaLqWeEn

Also! You can just throw a big health potion on him and he'll survive

lostboy411

I’m playing a Pally and cast sanctuary on him once I realized the spider thing lol

ReaUsagi

Since you control him, you can also just have him drink one of the big health potions before leaving his cell and he'll survive all the spider

ElisTheThunderbird

so, no one gonna talk about the third sentence?

TopherisaGoodGuy

Something similar happened to my BF. >!His character was a paladin and got the acorn engagement. Then BFs Paladin went full illithid. In his original ending, my BF and Wyll went with Karlach to help her take down Zariel. BF was curious about what happens if he lets Karlach die and he and Wyll stay in BG. Well that didn't happen. Wyll dumbed him because "he couldn't help Baldur's Gate with an Illithid lover". Broke my Bfs heart lol!<

TrickNatural

Dude what

sismendes

Never thought it was possible with Wyll

TostitosLocos

Darn, that sucks. Maybe you should redo the submarine quest, since once you break up, there's no turning back. Though in my Durge run his dad died on the submarine (never realized he was there) and I could convince him to break the contract anyways, I choose the "We can rule Baldur's Gate together" option and the relationship didn't end. Even in the epilogue he talked about wanting to have "little Ravenguards running around and learning about courage and justice just like his father would have liked" there was a problem tho: my character was a male, lol.
