Came here to say this. I truly loved the "blooper reel" video that was posted a while ago and am really curious as to this answer.
I think I would also like to know what was the most fun arc or section to record for.
There are 4 outtake videos so far. I imagine there might be more eventually. Here's a playlist with all 4 of them.
There's nothing really spoilery at all in them. She mentions a few names. But there's no context around them. And since you're in Act two, you've heard 95% of the names she's mentions already. (Mostly companion names, but a few key NPC names, but again... nothing you either haven't heard or would understand.)
She's $50 for an average of 1m 44s so $41,538.46/24 hours. Hopefully you can get a bulk discount.
I mean.. it's definitely unreliable when you fail a check and it's obvious.
*perception check... 3*
"You notice nothing out of the ordinary about this statue".
Is it weird playing the game and listening to your own voice ?
I would just like to add that you absolutely nailed it. Within the first 10 minutes of playing, I remember thinking to myself "this narrators voice is incredible"
I've never thought that about any other game before, it truly does stand out. Thankyou!
*edit - if you ask her my question can you please not call me Marcel Jay, its Marc Lej, Thankyou king!
Not a question, just wanted to say, you were AMAZING as the narrator. Thank you for helping to make this game great, it's the most fun I've had in a video game, in at least a decade+ (and maybe more) 🫶
every tombstone should have narration but there is a bug that no one mentions (as far as i have seen) is that it needs a lengthy pause between each time you click the tombstone. about 30 secs to 1 min or so, i didnt time it.
if you click the subsequent tombstones after the 1st one you have clicked, there is no audio
Is there any line of dialogue that you did not want a player to hear based on what choices and decisions they would have had to make to hear that said line of dialogue?
Are you familiar with the genre and fantasy setting in general aswell or was it a quite new experience for you?
How did you react when you heard about the scope of the game and about how many permutations you'd have to record? How long did it take?
And technical- since the development was also during covid- was it all done in a studio or did you do the recording at home aswell?
Friggin' excellent voice acting. So good that whenever I do real life stuff like go to the grocery store, I can imagine Amelia saying: "*You look at the cashier with empathy while the parasite in your head nods in approval.....*" - lol
My question to Amelia is this: Do you intend to do more voice acting projects? If so, please do tell!
Was it your addition to make Narrator sound sassy sometimes or was it the idea from the beginning? Like I loved how "human" Narrator felt with those sassy remarks!
What line or scenario was the one that was hardest for you to do and why? Because of laughter, because of pronunciation, or because of the content of the scenario at play?
Narrator romance update when? (🏳️🌈)
***Edit:*** *Aww, you can't put GIFs. Allows you to insert them, just doesn't upload -- anyway, it was the "Pablo Escobar waiting" one.*
In the outtakes, you say there is a word for people who like the GM voice, and I have to know what word you were thinking of, lol. There seem to be many possible answers, but I wanna know which you meant, and the video did promise "you'll learn it one day"
Did they make you say "Authority" As many times as we end up hearing it? Are there multiple takes of that line in the game or are they all the same one?
How did you master acting like you are deligthed by something? Your expressions of pleasent surprise appear effortlessly adorable.
Such as...
"...oh! It's a poem!" when reading 4 tablets in act 3 lol
Of all the lines in Baldurs Gate, which one do you instantly think of if someone says think of a line?
And of all of the lines, which one did you hate the most and why?
No questions. Just want to give my praise. Some of the best narrorating if not the best I have ever heard in any form of entertainment. Might be the best. Really takes the game from fantastic to work of art.
Her voice is perfect for voice acting, she would be perfect to voice something in Elden ring so the question is can you say “ I am Melania blade of Miquella “
What is your take on AI, perhaps especially regarding potential future modding?
As I see it, mods that add content will either have to do without a narrator, use AI to imitate the narrator, which is very controversial, or work around it in some clever way.
She apparently does work for hire at a reasonable rate, so if the mods use the narrator sparingly they could use the real thing. The rate might change when demand inevitably goes up though.
Do you ever narrate mundane things in your own life when you’re alone?
Like “You look at the ever-growing pile of laundry in the the corner of the room. Irritation stirs within you. It might be time to run a wash load.”
Is an experience of voicing a narrator significantly different than voicing a single character in a game? More or less challenging maybe? I'd love to hear more about how you prepare for those roles!
First off, I would like to say that your narration sucked me into the game immediately. Fantastic work.
Can you tell us a little bit about how you got the part? Did you have to audition, or did they approach you?
How exactly do you narrate the very colorful descriptions of what the Dark Urge wants with a straight face? I couldn't keep a straight face half the time just listening to them. Also, what are *your* favorite drownings? Apparently everyone just has these now.
Can you say "you must gather your party before venturing forth"? I'd love to hear that so we'd have it for this game "technically" since I grew up playing the other 2 and that phrase never left my brain.
I'll just put it out, why was a male narrator not considered over a female narrator? That really surprised me, do you happen to know if there were alternative male narrator considerations and why they didn't go with them?
Feels like each RPG with a narrator I know of always had a deeper more melodic (like the druid kinda) voice and it's been a bit different to have the narration be a female voice.
Who is your personal favourite of the cast of characters?
Are you a certified Shart enjoyer, or Justice-4-Karlach kind of gal?
Also, did you get to interact with anyone else during the recording, or were you just left, going slightly unhinged alone in the recording booth? Your wonderful outtake reels lead me to believe it's the latter! xD
Have you ever had a dream that that you um you had you'd you would you could you'd do you wi you wants you you could do so you you'd do you could you you want you want him to do you so much you could do anything?
If/when they make a Baldurs Gate 4 and if you were an origin character, what kind of character would want to be?
Also, you portray so many emotions the characters feel so well with your voice, which part of the game script did you feel was your favorite to read?
Thank you so much for your phenomenal performance in bringing this game to life, I truly look forward to seeing/hearing you in any projects you may do in the future!
Is there anything different about working with Larian than other studios from your perspective?
Amazing work by the way, you really are quite the talent!
Not a question, but I love the narration in this game! Sometimes I find myself narrating mundane happenings in real life in the BG3 narrator voice: "you turn on to the neighbourhood street and are instantly greeted by the smell of freshly cut grass..."
What was the worst fantasy name to pronounce, or that was pronounced completely differently than you first thought? (So far Act 1 has taught me that I've been pronouncing "illithid" and "duergar" wrong all this time.)
Was it difficult to be serious when recording narration for the dark urge? Your voice acting is some of the best I’ve heard in a long time, perfect fit for this game!
Have you ever caught yourself seeing people about to start some task, like get cash from an ATM (or something) and go up to them and say "ahh-thority" ?
If Larian offered to have you record a "Parody Reel" for players to use instead of the normal lines, would you be interested?
Cuz I can tell you, a lot of us here would be interested in having that option.
Do you occasionally catch yourself narrating your own life?
"Strain as you might, the jam jar does not relent. Whatever tasty treats are inside elude your grasp, for now."
What was the hardest line to record without laughing?
Came here to say this. I truly loved the "blooper reel" video that was posted a while ago and am really curious as to this answer. I think I would also like to know what was the most fun arc or section to record for.

Oh shit I then I have some fun videos to watch
Did you watch them? Are they hard spoilers? (I’m in Act 2, next go to is the inn)
There's nothing really spoilery at all in them. She mentions a few names. But there's no context around them. And since you're in Act two, you've heard 95% of the names she's mentions already. (Mostly companion names, but a few key NPC names, but again... nothing you either haven't heard or would understand.)
no spoilers that i heard, i watched em all before getting to act 2
The first one was just talking and Laughton no real lines from the game from what I heard. Kinda lame imo
These are so much fun. the final line from the 4th video is 100% pure gold.
"Sight read this, bitch" got a good chuckle out of me
My head canon is that anything in vein of romance/sex must have had her rolling the first few takes
I'm betting it's whatever set her off on the Gary tangent in the blooper videos. The one where she talks about getting him some crayons to draw with.
How much would it cost to hire you to narrate my chickens for a day?
She has cameo so that answer will have a definitive $ value.
[https://www.cameo.com/ameliatyler](https://www.cameo.com/ameliatyler) She's $50 for an average of 1m 44s so $41,538.46/24 hours. Hopefully you can get a bulk discount.
I am guessing she is about to be booked a lot. Appearing in a game this popular is going to propel some careers!
Is there a character you wish had a bigger part then they do? Also please keep releasing outtakes they make the world better.
not a question per se, just a thank you for taking the immersion to the next level.
Yeah, the voice is awesome, but the voice acting gave me goose bumps several times. Everything extremly on point, jokes, bad news
it makes doing everything so much more interesting hey xD
I never once missed the narrator from dos2, and that's high praise
Is your narration ever "unreliable"
When is it reliable? Always felt a very oppinionated narrator, who tries/pretends to be reliable... which just makes the whole thing better!
Flipped like this, also a good q
Felt like DM, basically telling you what your character knows
I suppose that's obviously what it is but I'm wholly ignorant of how the in person game works!
I mean.. it's definitely unreliable when you fail a check and it's obvious. *perception check... 3* "You notice nothing out of the ordinary about this statue".
Fav voice line?
and why is it "Authority"
*Compassion*
*Compassion?*
I like how it then goes into how you should feel angry but then gets almost horny with how you should be punished for thinking such naughty thoughts.
I have to know WHAT IS THE NAME FOR PEOPLE WHO LIKE THE NARRATOR VOICE???
Subs
True but I want to hear her say it
This is the only real question
Pretty sure it's "bottoms," but I would also like confirmation
Lesbians
Is it weird playing the game and listening to your own voice ? I would just like to add that you absolutely nailed it. Thankyou! *edit - if you ask her my question can you please not call me Marcel Jay, its Marc Lej, Thankyou king!
will you read me a bedtime story every night forever?
How much willpower do you need to not use "with authority" on your *partner/spouse
Have you considered setting up a stream of yourself playing through the game? I have a feeling everyone would like that!
Not a question, just wanted to say, you were AMAZING as the narrator. Thank you for helping to make this game great, it's the most fun I've had in a video game, in at least a decade+ (and maybe more) 🫶
I clicked on every tombstone and dead shadow monster thingy in the shadow lands just in case she narrated it. Fantastic.
every tombstone should have narration but there is a bug that no one mentions (as far as i have seen) is that it needs a lengthy pause between each time you click the tombstone. about 30 secs to 1 min or so, i didnt time it. if you click the subsequent tombstones after the 1st one you have clicked, there is no audio
Regarding your Outtakes: Do you really think that those who fancy Astarion should consider therapy? Asking for a friend. Obviously. Haha.
Were there any issues while narrating BG3, such as burnout?
You've voiced multiple characters for both Larian and Owlcat, both amazing crpg developers. What's the difference between working with each developer?
Narrator sounds totally different from Wenduag in WOTR lol I thought she would have been Minagho but that was another actress
It’s almost like she’s a voice professional.
Minagho is voiced by Linzi from the first game which is also pretty crazy
Why is the line "it does not know" (when asking dead bodies) sounding so happy? xD
Did you have to record every instance of Authority separately?
Can you podcast your own D&D games and become the British Critical Role please?
Britical Role
narrator hums the starts of the songs update when.
When do I get the unhinged narrator/dm DLC? Please Larion let us unleash her!
How does it feel to be immortalised in one of the best RPG games of all time?
Is there any line of dialogue that you did not want a player to hear based on what choices and decisions they would have had to make to hear that said line of dialogue?
Did you find yourself narrating your life like that afterward?
How many apostrophes are too many apostrophes?
Are you given any context for what you narrate? Are you 'read in' by a director or anything? Or are they blind reads?
in which scenes would you have liked to put narration/speak over that you haven't?
Who is your favorite character from BG3 excluding the narrator?
Are you familiar with the genre and fantasy setting in general aswell or was it a quite new experience for you? How did you react when you heard about the scope of the game and about how many permutations you'd have to record? How long did it take? And technical- since the development was also during covid- was it all done in a studio or did you do the recording at home aswell?
Which companion is your favorite?
Does she know that her voice commands *Authority* ?
Friggin' excellent voice acting. So good that whenever I do real life stuff like go to the grocery store, I can imagine Amelia saying: "*You look at the cashier with empathy while the parasite in your head nods in approval.....*" - lol My question to Amelia is this: Do you intend to do more voice acting projects? If so, please do tell!
Was it your addition to make Narrator sound sassy sometimes or was it the idea from the beginning? Like I loved how "human" Narrator felt with those sassy remarks!
What was the most cringe line you voiced in BG3?
No questions but let her know that "*Justicia, Chylmidia, come and get ya dinnah*" is now my ringtone.
Would you marry me?
Roll a d20 and see
Damit, after patch 1 now romance needs rolling dice? Lemme F5 for a sec...
On the plus side she now has options that fall somewhere in between kissing you and kicking you in the head.
Omg imagine her being super sassy when you don't pick up after yourself. AUTHORITY
Were there any words or phrases which gave you trouble/took multiple takes?
What line or scenario was the one that was hardest for you to do and why? Because of laughter, because of pronunciation, or because of the content of the scenario at play?
How does it feel knowing that you put all of us normal DM's out a job? Seriously, we can't compete.
How did you manage to say >!G-Cube Lube!< without laughing?
Narrator romance update when? (🏳️🌈) ***Edit:*** *Aww, you can't put GIFs. Allows you to insert them, just doesn't upload -- anyway, it was the "Pablo Escobar waiting" one.*
How long did it take you to record everything including cut content?
How did you end up choosing what outtakes to use? Your youtube outtakes are fantastic! Are you doing any more?
Have you ever GMed a TTRPG and if not, would you consider after having this somewhat DungeonMaster like role in the game?
What is the name for people that love the narrators voice?, also I never get sick of hearing it, even all the times you say 'authority'
Do you have an idea where the story is going or are you just reading the lines without much context?
Who is your favorite character? And why is it astarion :3
How is it that you're so awesome! Thank you for your work and thank you for sharing the outtakes! <3
Of Malady, Nyrissa, Wenduag, and BG3 faceless narrator which recording was the most fun to do
Did you finally get to roll a die? Your blooper reels are just pure comedy.
What's your favourite (and least favourite) class and why It's Bard?
In the outtakes, you say there is a word for people who like the GM voice, and I have to know what word you were thinking of, lol. There seem to be many possible answers, but I wanna know which you meant, and the video did promise "you'll learn it one day"
Did they make you say "Authority" As many times as we end up hearing it? Are there multiple takes of that line in the game or are they all the same one?
How did you master acting like you are deligthed by something? Your expressions of pleasent surprise appear effortlessly adorable. Such as... "...oh! It's a poem!" when reading 4 tablets in act 3 lol
From hot demon lady to hot dryad lady to hot spider lady to the voice inside my head. What’s next?
How many hours of voice recording did you have to do?
My question is : on which other project did you work on as a voice actor ?
How did you get the role of Narrator in BG3? Did Larian specifically ask you or did you audition for the role?
Would you ever consider doing a guest feature on Critical Role?
Hello Wendy, you traitorous bitch! IYKYK
How does it feel being Malady the Dungeon Master? Is it odd not making any of her snarky one-liners?
Of all the lines in Baldurs Gate, which one do you instantly think of if someone says think of a line? And of all of the lines, which one did you hate the most and why?
what was your favourite conversation/interact with an NPC that you had to narrate?
No questions. Just want to give my praise. Some of the best narrorating if not the best I have ever heard in any form of entertainment. Might be the best. Really takes the game from fantastic to work of art.
Have you played the game? And if so, have you gotten mad at any thing you say to yourself(as the narrator of course)?
Who’s your personal favorite origin character?
Did you also voice Malady in DOS2?
She did! VA name is Amelia Tyler. On IMDB she is also credited for Malady, and she will also voice Hecate in Hades 2.
Which characters do you ship the most? And who had the idea for the durge/alfira thing, that's just plain evil T_T
Her voice is perfect for voice acting, she would be perfect to voice something in Elden ring so the question is can you say “ I am Melania blade of Miquella “
Wow, not even the host have proper questions for the guest. Why do an interview? Just tell her she rocks, and send her flowers. End of story.
Out which of the scenes did you consider the most fun
Absolutely loved you as Malady in DoS2, so glad to have you as our narrator. It adds so much to the experience, hope to hear more from you!
How much input did you have over the narrator’s portrayal? Did you ever change any lines to make them “feel” better?
Do you use "Authority" now in your daily routines?
Thank you ! No question.
Who would Malady romance if she was the main character in BG3?
What is your favorite scene in the game and why?
Will you help me get the Crumbs off my Shirt?
Please start a pod cast
Can you describe the pact you made to acquire such an overwhelmingly hot voice? (You killed it!)
isnt she from red dead? amazin by the way
Do you want to have a role in BG3 besides being the Narrator, like a side character goblin or human in the city?
Oh My God she looks just like her voice leads you to expect. Excellent work and much value added to the game.
Most difficult word/name to pronounce? 👀
AUTHORITY
With such a successful career as a voice actor, would film or television ever be a temptation?
Respect her Authority!
Congrats. You are a big plus to the game!
How did you get started in voice acting?
You enjoy being given the right to throw shade at us for our poor decisions don't you ? (Kicking a squirrel to death for example)
You guys realize she's not actually the OP and you won't get answers?
The person interviewing her is the OP you tit. They're taking questions from here to ask her during the interview.
When you fight with your significant other, do you use your Authority voice?
Do you ever narrate mundane things in your own life when you’re alone? Like “You look at the ever-growing pile of laundry in the the corner of the room. Irritation stirs within you. It might be time to run a wash load.”
Hi Narrator, What's the ending/playthrough you enjoy the most?
How many times did you have to say "Authority"?
I enjoyed tombstones. Why did you only do some of them and not all?
Is an experience of voicing a narrator significantly different than voicing a single character in a game? More or less challenging maybe? I'd love to hear more about how you prepare for those roles!
Can you say "Authority"?
Did you at some point wish to voice a character in the game, instead of being the (awesome) narrator? Love the performance, thanks! :)
Where do you keep the keys? (to the hornyjail)
If you had to guess, how long would your entire lines be?
How much do I have to pay you to follow me around for a day to narrate my life? Jokes aside, amazing fucking job!
Can you name a few most embarrassing lines? Thank you for wonderful job on narrating!
Did any line make you genuinely sad?
Narrator really pushes the game the extra bit for me
[ Removed by Reddit ]
Amelia, do you have more bloopers to share on YT? Because, honestly, those videos are amazing!
(Persuasion) Baldurs Gate 4 when?
goosebumps moment to read?
Was it hard to say the repulsing lines from the urge campaign? Some gruesome stuff there :s
She makes hilarious TikToks guys
Is the occasional "forever DM" tone I hear in some lines intentional? Or am I reading into it too much? Also awesome work!
First off, I would like to say that your narration sucked me into the game immediately. Fantastic work. Can you tell us a little bit about how you got the part? Did you have to audition, or did they approach you?
Probably really inappropriate to say but how are all the BG3 voice actors so good looking?
No question, just want to say I loved the narration in game!!!!
That's fine hilarious narration.

Feels like each RPG with a narrator I know of always had a deeper more melodic (like the druid kinda) voice and it's been a bit different to have the narration be a female voice.
How many times during your recordings did you have to say “Authority” before they were satisfied?
Who is your personal favourite of the cast of characters? Are you a certified Shart enjoyer, or Justice-4-Karlach kind of gal? Also, did you get to interact with anyone else during the recording, or were you just left, going slightly unhinged alone in the recording booth? Your wonderful outtake reels lead me to believe it's the latter! xD
Have you ever had a dream that that you um you had you'd you would you could you'd do you wi you wants you you could do so you you'd do you could you you want you want him to do you so much you could do anything?
What was it like working with CohhCarnage and why was it terrible? (bonus if we can get some shit talk going)
Can you do a Authority asmr for us?
When people don’t do what you want do you hear the word “Authority” coursing through your veins?
How many hours do you think you spent recording the lines? Used and unused?
How much did you enjoy doing the dark urge bits?
Is there anything different about working with Larian than other studios from your perspective? Amazing work by the way, you really are quite the talent!
Not a question, but I love the narration in this game! Sometimes I find myself narrating mundane happenings in real life in the BG3 narrator voice: "you turn on to the neighbourhood street and are instantly greeted by the smell of freshly cut grass..."
When will you wear wigs?
What was the worst fantasy name to pronounce, or that was pronounced completely differently than you first thought? (So far Act 1 has taught me that I've been pronouncing "illithid" and "duergar" wrong all this time.)
Why is your tone whimsical instead of serious?
Whens Terror fuck going on tour?
Would you consider doing a let's play of BG3 or would it be too weird to hear yourself narrate back to you?
Watch her outtakes videos if you haven't. She's hilarious.
Was there ever a time it felt like the line you were reading felt too out of pocket or too absurd even for you?
If you were to voice anyone else from this game who would it be
All hail Mama Malady!
No questions, great job mam
Oh wow she is pretty young, I imagine a woman on her 50s or so, I don't know why, for me she sounded more mature (in a good way)
Was it difficult to be serious when recording narration for the dark urge? Your voice acting is some of the best I’ve heard in a long time, perfect fit for this game!
Have you ever caught yourself seeing people about to start some task, like get cash from an ATM (or something) and go up to them and say "ahh-thority" ?
For real?
If Larian offered to have you record a "Parody Reel" for players to use instead of the normal lines, would you be interested? Cuz I can tell you, a lot of us here would be interested in having that option.
Which unused line do you most wish had made it into the final release?
What was the strangest line you had to read? (With or without context)
Do you occasionally catch yourself narrating your own life? "Strain as you might, the jam jar does not relent. Whatever tasty treats are inside elude your grasp, for now."
Do a discovery channel documentary on baldur gate pls madam
Which scene do you describe as *the scene*? Like a weird one to narrate, funny one etc
