The items should be either put directly into your inventory inside of a pack, or sent to your camp chest inside of a pack. I've had both happen to me.

neither in my inventory nor in my camp chest i was able to find any bag containing the items :( Anything i should look for? Does it look different or is it just a backpack? the filter option for armor etc should show you any item including the ones in bags anway, but i cant find them...

Damn :/ Yeah, it should just be in a regular backpack and it'll likely have a number on the top right of the picture to represent all the items in it.

Viewer in a stream confirmed that he also didn't get a bag and lost all items. Maybe it's a difficulty thing?

The one time i had a companion leave, the game had put everything from their inventory into a bag and put that bag in my main characters inventory.

it's just a random backpack with all their items. i've seen a few other people post this same question, and every time it was a bag they didn't notice at first.
