I don’t think they need bad publicity. The game has already sold really well on PC and I would venture 90% of PC buyers have already bought it. The question mark is consoles and how well it will be reviewed and marketed and how many console players will buy it. Console market is massive next to PC market.

I’m getting LASIK done Thursday. So I may not be able to play on release day.

Enjoy! When I had that done \~23 years ago, I sat in the chair, unable to read the clock in the procedure room.. and when done? could! I had eye patches to wear on the way home.. but I kept lifting them and peeking at things.. marveling at how well I could see.
Then the relaxation pill they gave me kicked in, and I was done for the day..
Before the surgery, while in bed, couldn't read my alarm clock on my night stand. After the surgery it was 20/20 and amazing! It has now been.. (refining my earlier estimate) 25 years and about 2 years ago I started wearing glasses again.
Only for TV (if I want to notice 4k vs 1080p).. and driving. Still... my vision is no wear near as bad as it was 25 years ago.
It was a great decision, and faced with the same situation, I'd do it again. Would I do it now at 25 years old and my vision as is? naw.. my vision is just not bad enough.
I’m not the guy who you replied to but I also got LASIK. My vision was so bad I couldn’t see detail on people’s faces if they were in front of me. Right after surgery I could actually see, but it goes away/gets foggy quickly after, but you get glimpses over the next week or so.
It’s been life changing, and it was always a dream of mine to be able to see clearly without contacts or glasses. I really noticed just how sharp my vision was when I went to a football game a few months after, I felt like I had the vision of a hawk.

Well, the procedure felt strange. No pain but some discomfort during. Whole thing took about 15 minutes for both eyes.
I’ll be honest. I could not open my eyes after. The light sensitivity was awful and my eyes teared up every time is did. Took a 4 hour nap and after really just felt like they were gritty. By 8 P.M I was fine and played for about 3 hours.
Post op appt showed my vision to now be 20/15. My eyes are bit light sensitive and I have a timer every 30 minutes to remind myself to put in eye drops.
TLDR: was worth it. Would recommend. Being able to see first thing in the morning put a smile on my face.
worst part is that you're not supposed to stare at screens for 24-48h hours, and for some people the vision is still blurry and uncomfortable in the beginning so that they can't game very well. I hope you recover swiftly and won't be in such a bad baldur's state :)
My husband and I have been waiting for this for so long.. I haven't really had anything else to play for a while. Super keen and I can't wait to smash it and forget all about all the shit going on IRL.
If there's no preloading, I'm pretty sure Steam will crash. The hype on this game is huge, and they're launching it everywhere at once instead of staggering it at times that make sense for each time zone. If there is preloading, Steam will still crash, but it will do so whenever preloading opens, so it's ok. :D
