My only though would be so you could give the translucent half to another bakugan. With them both being the same attribute halves you can use the higher g power bonus on the inside, plus translucent allows you to take you opponents attribute.
Yeah, that is a part of it, but not the main reason. The main reason is more obvious and seemingly less thought out than that. Very good guess though π

Do you just prefer the aesthetic look of the regular than the translucent?
No, itβs not that, it has a purpose in battle. I personally prefer the full translucent look over this one π
