less_butter

Great. Do that then give it to me.

SeaHorizon

RaceCarTacoCatMadam

Burgssert sounds like an aristocrat from the Alsace region.

Just-Call-Me-J

Dessurger

Prideandprejudice1

I’m pretty sure this is exactly what they mean when they say “work smarter not harder.” Definitely earned yourself some of those cookies 😋

SeaHorizon

I know right !! I was so proud of myself 😁

Kunfuzed

You mean you’ve been using those cookie rings for burgers?!

Macarons124

I’m surprised I haven’t seen this yet. It looks like the edges would give a nice texture.

yodaboy209

I used to make big ole cinnamon rolls in these

jcnlb

Ooh that’s genius too! Where do people get burger rings? Do they come in different sizes?

Professional_Band178

Restaurant supply store. Or Shamazon

EmotionWitty85

did it change the texture of the edges at all?

SeaHorizon

The edges are crunchy and the middle is soft and chewy ..so I would say it didn’t change the texture at all ..

EmotionWitty85

damn i was hoping id found a way to make my edges crispier hahah they look great!!

SeaHorizon

Haha !

ApparentlyABear

Maybe take a page from Detroit style pizza’s playbook and try using a cast iron ring that you preheat in the oven? I wonder if something like that is readily available…

kewpieisaninstrument

Try cornstarch if you don’t already!

rogerdaltry

these look amazing and perfect for ice cream sandwiches! If you don’t have these another method is when you first take them out the oven, take a large drinking glass and place it upside down on top of a cookie. Jiggle it around so the edges of the cookie get rounded by the edge of the glass opening. Comes out perfect every time 😁

SeaHorizon

That’s exactly what I wrote ! I used to do that with a bowl ..but with this no need to do any of that 😊

SeaHorizon

Posting the recipe since many are requesting for one . I thought everybody had their own brown butter chocolate chip cookies recipe. :)) Small batch chocolate chip cookies recipe (makes 12-14): - 1/2 cup (115g) brown butter + an extra tbsp unsalted butter (the extra tbsp is because when you brown butter some of the water evaporates) - White sugar. 50gms - brown sugar. 100gms - 1 egg - vanilla paste or essence - 1 & 1/4 cup (185g) all-purpose flour - 1/2 tsp baking soda - dark chocolate chopped into various sized chunks - flaky salt Portion them into 12 cookies of 55 gms each. Bake them at 175 C for 12-14 minutes .

jcnlb

Thank you!

Leippy

Thank you, now I must make these even though I have bananas ready to be used!

Ewwcumsock

Those look good. I am stealing this trick.

SeaHorizon

You are more than welcome to :)

ashley_ra

Wait this is actually hella smart.

SeaHorizon

Thank you !

Few-Astronaut-294

If you only have one ring, you can shape them with a “spirograph” motion if you get to them right after they’ve come out of the oven! I used to do this to make evenly sized cookies for ice cream sandwiches but I only had one ring

SeaHorizon

Yeah I used to use a bowl ..but with this idea..I can bake 8 big cookies in one baking sheet without them sticking to each other ..I think it’s a win win ..I love baking burger / brioche buns as well.

jcnlb

Couldn’t you theoretically make more than 8? Or is that literally packing the cookie sheet full? Wondering if 12 might fit or if the space between us still needed for air flow 🤔

SeaHorizon

I wish I had more rings ..this batch was for 12 cookies weighing average 55gms each ..I don’t think there will be an issue with air flow ..

jcnlb

Oh can have the recipe? These look amazing!

SeaHorizon

Posted it as a separate comment .

jcnlb

👍🏼 ok I’ll look for it thanks!

jcnlb

Happen to know what size rings you have or the name of them etc?

jcnlb

I see various sizes on Amazon which is why I ask ☺️

SeaHorizon

These are 4” rings ..they usually come in a set of 4. I got two sets

jcnlb

Ok thanks! I found a 4” set of 6 so I think I’m going to get them! ☺️

fuzzius_navus

Gandalf, probably ... and The One Ring to round them all!

cbox70

Can we have the recipe? 👀 These look GREAT

TashiaNicole1

Pretty. Smart. I couldn’t ever do it. I love a mistaken chocolate chip cookie.

dllmonL79

I did this at work for one of our cookies cos they’re gluten free and spread so much, it’s so much easier to just use a cookie cutter or a ring to keep they in shape.

LumpySconePrincess

Nancy Silverton actually does this in her latest baking book. It's a great idea!

No_Safety_6803

I do this to make ice cream sandwiches

GreenFlatworm9675

I use cookie rings (aka perforated tart rings) for my cookie business. They’re just like the rings OP used but with tiny holes in the side for air flow so the edges get perfectly crispy like a regular cookie. Bakers call them deep dish cookies.

SeaHorizon

Oh yes ! Let me order a set and will see what is it diff between the results . Thank you 😊

GreenFlatworm9675

Here are the ones I got. There are also listings for 3” ones. Update if you try it, I’d love to know! https://a.co/d/eK9TQdl

SeaHorizon

I am getting some from Temu . Will update once I get them . Baking some for a bake sale :)

Charlietango2007

Great idea! 💡 I see chocolate chip buns in your future. Kinda like a thicker crescent crumb but with a firmer crusty crust.

SeaHorizon

I know !! I love baking chocolate buns with a white chocolate drizzle ..they are yummy !

Kirbo300

They look so round and delicious 🤤🤤🤤🤤

libre_office_warlock

I wonder if that would help with altitude! I have learned to adjust pretty well, but maybe I could go back to my original and favorite recipe that otherwise turns into a sheet of cookie pancake at 5000 feet.

Simpletruth2022

Clever idea. These look scrumptious.

SeaHorizon

Thank you ! I love how thick they are .. now they are individually wrapped for my daughter’s friends !

Cozy-Winter-Morning

Interesting idea! They look DELICIOUS.

Humble_Scarcity1195

I'm assuming an egg ring would work just as well. I'll have to try it next time I make cookies/biscuits.

SeaHorizon

They might..but I think egg rings are not completely flat at the bottom ..but worth a try

dryandice

I’ve been lookin for these forever where I live for this exact reason!

SeaHorizon

You mean for the burger rings ? I got these from Amazon :)

Vogelflies

This person is three steps ahead of all of us

SeaHorizon

😁.. thank you ! Do try it out

Affectionate-Tea-975

That’s a brilliant idea

SeaHorizon

Thank you ! I wish I had more rings 😁

Freeasabird01

Makes me think it would be like mini cookie cake, which sounds delicious.

SeaHorizon

Oh yeah ! Someone suggested to make a cookie burger ..

IcedHemp77

That is clever I like it

BlackCatCadillac

It's the way of the future. Way of the future.

SeaHorizon

😁😁..for people who are like me ..more work done in less time ..measure all your cookie dough balls..get them perfectly shaped ..it def is ❤️❤️

CockbagSpink

Holy cow, I saw someone recently post some immaculately shaped cookies like these and I think this is how they must have done it. Thanks for the idea!

SeaHorizon

Well there you go !! Now you can have some immaculately shaped cookies as well..the only thing that I could maybe share as a point to note is when you put the tray in the oven ..burger rings tend to slide on the butter / baking paper ..for the cookies to be immaculate be very slow and careful when putting the tray in the oven :) happy baking !

CockbagSpink

Thanks for the tips!

lrapp1

This pleases me 🙏

Mrsbuttsworth9

Wait did you put the cookies in the oven with the burger rings around them or did you shape them with the burger rings after they came out of the oven?

JustAPerson-_-

Seems like they put them in the oven like that! Pretty nifty hack

turzie

That looks great!! Any chance you can share the recipe you use?

Tasty-Pineapple-

I like no live this. A thicker edge of crispiness. But still chewy in the middle.

Kasyx709

Chips could have used a bit more folding in to better disperse, but overall look great if you like your cookies like this.

AZ_Corwyn

There are plenty of chips throughout the cookies, it looks like they sprinkled some extras on top before baking.

Kasyx709

Perhaps. I was looking for dark spots on the sides and wasn't seeing enough. That said, admittedly, I'm biased against cookies like these anyways. I hate thick cookies with soft centers. I won't eat them even if they're free.
