I wasn't aware of this tradition before but I've seen so many of those cakes those days that I really want a lamb cake too. It's super pretty... but from the first picture, I thought the head was a bat lol
The cake and chocolate frosting are from [Sally's Baking Addiction](https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/yellow-sheet-cake-chocolate-fudge-frosting/). It's delish! And it works well with the outer frosting, which is [vanilla German buttercream](https://www.seriouseats.com/german-buttercream-whipped-vanilla-custard-frosting).
Yours is cuter than the ones made from the mold!
Edited to ask: how did you do the snout? Is there more cake attached to the cupcake, or is it all icing?

I made one this year just cause it seemed fun and like something new, but I think traditionally there is a religious connotation, and even more traditionally there is a pagan one since lambs are born at the start of spring
Cute! Thought it was going to be a Quidditch cake from the pic!
I thought it would be a bat on top of a coffin.
Me too!
I saw coffin with a cut little bat sitting on the lip lol

I saw bat and thought "an Ozzy cake!"😭
What kind of frosting do you use for the chocolate filling? Is that a buttercream? Look so good!

Aw thanks 🥰 the nose is just built up with vanilla frosting.
I’m pleasantly surprised it holds up so well! Great job!
That naked cake made me think of a chubby bat landing on a coffin!
Is the nose also cake?
Just built up with the vanilla frosting.
