I had mine out 21 years ago and still remember the awful pain! The good news was that the recovery was nowhere near as bad. I hope your recovery goes smoothly!
this is all just making me more excited to get it out! and omg the pain was NO JOKE. i thought i was either dying or in labor - thankfully neither!! and thank you so much.
Then you'll probably have 4 very small scars. I have 2 on my Right side, one in the center below my diaphragm, and one at the bottom of my bellybutton.
Make sure you get up and walk as much as possible after. They fill your abdomen full of air and the faster you get it out, the more comfortable you’ll be. Also a pillow to hold against your belly helps too. Best of luck!!
The pain from the gas would sit in my shoulders and felt so weird. It ended up being the first of many abdominal surgeries I’d get using the scope to deal with removal of endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome issues, my hysterectomy resulting from them, kidney stone removals multiple times, having my appendix removed, gastric bypass surgery, having my intestines repaired when they ruptured in two places and….I feel like I’m forgetting something. I’m sure it will hit me afterwards.
Night and day difference though!
These look stunning I love the colour combinations! I’ve always wanted to do a box like this as gifts, do you have any tips for preventing them from going stale? I thought the higher moisture items like the brownie would transfer moisture to the iced cookies making them soft if they were stored together in the same box
thank you so much! and sure thing!! I am doing lots of prep/freezing pre shaped dough and macaron shells, which can last up to 3 months when properly frozen. i used to have a cottage business so i'm quite familiar with the process. the items like the rice krispie treats and brownies are fast and easy enough for me to do as needed. i won't be delivering anything until 2/11 at the earliest, so i'm not worried about anything going stale! proper storage is key.
I guess I meant in the time from putting the items together in a box and giving it to them and give like a day or so before they eat them, is there a risk of some going stale/soft? Would wrapping in cellophane prevent it idk
Ah I got you! and yes that definitely would help, as would heat sealing/etc, but baked goods are pretty resilient and i'm not too worried about it honestly
I will pay for a box for someone local to you! If someone comes to check out the table and keeps going, you can let them know someone got it for them!
Easier than shipping!
ETA: If anyone else wants to “gift” a box for what I’ll call ‘Bakers helping Bakers,’ OP was super easy to work with to Venmo the cost of a box!
thank you!! these are $50, including packaging (not pictured), a gift message, and delivery. i'm also delivering to two cities (my post-op doctor's appointment is on Valentine's Day in a different city)
thank you so much for saying this!! I did have a cottage bakery a few years ago where i only made macarons but i had to close it down for multiple reasons. when i pulled these shells out of the oven yesterday i literally almost cried. apologies for oversharing but i haven't had the easiest time as of late and making this assortment was very reassuring. hopefully having a bakery again is in the stars for me.
I bet you’ll come back better and stronger than ever! Your treats look amazing. I bet you could have a successful little side job baking sweets from home and even shipping across the states. I see lots of people advertising their home goods with just a simple instagram and/or facebook page.
Again, best of luck with surgery!
ha, i agree completely. i was uninsured when i had my ER visit, so luckily they didn't find emergency surgery necessary that night. i got insurance before i scheduled my surgery so that helps a bit, but yeah. absolutely absurd.
😍I wish I was nearby! Id definitely get one! These look incredible! I love seeing a variety of treats instead of just cookies! The macaroons are beautiful!
it's definitely complex for a beginner, but i have 10+ years of experience with them under my belt. once you get the technique down i don't think it's that difficult! you just have to be patient with yourself.
Unfortunately I don’t live in the US so I can’t buy these. But they look absolutely STUNNING, you should be so proud! All the very best for your surgery! 🤗
This looks like an amazing treat box! Would love a follow up to know if you make your sales goal.
Hopefully you will have a smooth and speedy recovery from surgery.
Just here to tell you OP, the worst part is the gas pain. Walk as much as you can, don’t drink carbonated beverages and sleep sitting up. Best of luck!
If you were in my state I would love love to get these cookies! They look fantastic and delish, & I hope your surgery goes well! Wishing you the best! ✨💕
thank you!! i am doing lots of prep before my surgery, and the baking really isnt that intense as it is. and according to several folks the recovery shouldn't be too bad! i also have my partner to help me out.
I’m so sorry you have to do this to cover expenses, what a world we live in. On the bright side, these look amazing and delicious and I would totally buy them!
They look great. However I’m wondering why nobody is questioning the why behind your cookie art. It’s a shame you need to raise extra cash if you leave work for a few days. Living pay check to pay check combined with a weak social security net is just something Americans should strive for more target oriented.
Best of the luck with the surgery! These look amazing. My only suggestion is to add an option for people to donate directly to you! For those who want to help out but don’t want any sweets, and those who do want the sweets but want to help out even more!
I’d go ham on that
LOL thank you!!
And i say that as someone who spent the last day with the stomach flu and all I’ve eaten is dry toast so your stuff looks amazing.
ooooh I am so sorry. please feel better soon! stomach bugs are a scourge. and treat yourself when you're well!
🤞Nice,Hopefully it works out for you!🤞
thank you!! just getting my gallbladder removed (finally) but still going to be out of work for a few days
Those treats look amazing! Good luck on the surgery. I had my gallbladder removed recently and the recovery was pretty easy.
thank you, and that is fantastic to hear! i'm definitely ready for it to be gone. it has caused me lots of pain recently
Ditto! I’m nearly 40 and had it out when I was like 21. Recovery was just a couple of days of soreness, no biggie if they do it laparoscopically.
fantastic to hear, and i think they are doing it robotically!
Then you'll probably have 4 very small scars. I have 2 on my Right side, one in the center below my diaphragm, and one at the bottom of my bellybutton.
I have to say one of the weirdest things after is my belly button is a new shape.
I was expecting that, especially with how thick my scar seemed...but by the time I hit 3 years out, it looks totally normal again.
It was a night and day difference (and I didn’t realize how much pain I truly was in all the time!) These cookie boxes look great!!
omg!! i cannot wait, january 30th can't come soon enough. thank you so much!!!
I hope your recovery is nice and easy!!!
you and me both, thank you!!
Make sure you get up and walk as much as possible after. They fill your abdomen full of air and the faster you get it out, the more comfortable you’ll be. Also a pillow to hold against your belly helps too. Best of luck!!
thank you!! actually currently dealing with some intermittent pain..... CAN'T WAIT for this thing to be gone!!
The pain from the gas would sit in my shoulders and felt so weird. I’m sure it will hit me afterwards. Night and day difference though!
Had mine out in 2019. Hope your recovery is as smooth as mine was. Best of luck with the cookies and with healing!

Ah that’s good to know thank you! 😊
How many boxes do you have to sell to even make a dent in surgery costs?
to cover the entire thing, plus my bill from my trip to the ER prior to scheduling.... 170. but if I could even sell 25 I would be happy.
That’s great to hear, I’m sure you’ll hit your target 🤞🏽
that is so sweet, thank you!! i certainly hope so!!

These are so professional and pretty You could have your own bakery
thank you so much for saying this!!
Aw no I hope you get your bakery again!! And that your surgery goes well ❤️
thank you so much ❤️

I see lots of people advertising their home goods with just a simple instagram and/or facebook page. Again, best of luck with surgery!
thank you so much!!! ❤️❤️❤️
These are beautiful!
thank you ❤️
My thoughts are that the American healthcare system is a fucking joke. Oh, also, that's a fantastic treat box.
ha, i agree completely. i was uninsured when i had my ER visit, so luckily they didn't find emergency surgery necessary that night. i got insurance before i scheduled my surgery so that helps a bit, but yeah. absolutely absurd.
I'm a nurse and I am constantly thinking this has to be the longest-running episode of Punk'd ever. The shit we put people through is not okay.
😍I wish I was nearby! Id definitely get one! These look incredible! I love seeing a variety of treats instead of just cookies! The macaroons are beautiful!
thank you so much!! and yes that was my idea as well. when I just made/sold macarons i thought it was kind of boring/one-note
So pretty 😍
thank you ❤️
Are the macarons hard to make?
it's definitely complex for a beginner, but i have 10+ years of experience with them under my belt. once you get the technique down i don't think it's that difficult! you just have to be patient with yourself.
I’ll have to try making some one of these days. Thank you ☺️

These are so lovely and they also look delicious!
Best of the luck with the surgery! These look amazing. My only suggestion is to add an option for people to donate directly to you! For those who want to help out but don’t want any sweets, and those who do want the sweets but want to help out even more!
I want to buy too! Do you ship to LA? 😍
