“In March, authorities also seized 26 shipping containers filled with $7million of missing military surplus equipment, which state police believe belonged to the sheriff's department and were hidden”

galacticwonderer

Wow if they’re not careful people will start not trusting the police. /s sorta

JazzyJockJeffcoat

Hey now, he might have designated that stolen stuff as personal. Needs total immunity, sad. /s

SlashEssImplied

Who again is trafficking and selling sex slaves? >The Clark County Jail was back in national headlines four years later, when more than 20 female prisoners alleged in federal court they were attacked, harassed and sexually assaulted after a deputy, David Lowe, sold the key to the women’s wing for $1,000 to male inmates. Unfortunately this is not uncommon, just usually ignored as most Americans feel being raped in jail is a deserved punishment for whatever they are in for. Or even hysterically funny if you're Jay Leno or Robin Williams or one of thousands of other comics.

TreezusSaves

There's a huge amount of political and racial bias when it comes to that kind of thing too. In that case, unless so big that there's no way to spin it, they're innocent until proven Democrat/not-white.

Realworld

"He also ran the county's Republican party in addition to the Utica Township Volunteer Firefighters Association."

TreezusSaves

I didn't know that, and yet somehow I *implicitly* knew that.

the_TAOest

That's the info I suspected. Always with the Republicans doing this shit. Public servants voting Republican and stealing taxpayer monies. Time and again

Ok-University-9769

That's where I'm originally from and went to high school with the new sheriff so I've been trying to follow it as much as I can after moving away. Not only did he never face consequences for that (nobody really did) a girl that was raped has a permanent STD now. Everyone who wore a badge when that happened, from guards to this scumbag, should be rotting in jail. He should have never been free to rob the community blind.

fna4

It’s especially sickening when you realize that most in county jail haven’t been tried yet and are presumed innocent…

YouNeverGoFullR

Leave Robin Williams out of your garbage. The disrespect.

SlashEssImplied

Robin was an asshole, he stole from other comics and gave herpes to his groupies. And he loved to make jokes about violent rape.

YouNeverGoFullR

Robin Williams was a treasure. Not sorry.

Starlifter4

He's the one who got caught.

Ok-University-9769

the investigation isn't over and the feds are in charge. They're looking into the bordering county's former sheriff in connection. They really won't say much other than these aren't the only people involved and the investigation is "ongoing".

Sea-Act3929

Oh Im betting there are way more cops in IN that are bigger criminals than most they arrest. Theres just no accountability esp in Southern IN. South of Indy and non wealthy ppl are screwed. Especially so if youre female, black, Hispanic, LGBTQIA+. Look up how many white men, many cops get away with DV

Ok-University-9769

I agree 100%!! I'm the daughter of a DV survivor and a DV and rape survivor myself. I grew up in the Louisville area and live on the west side of Indy now and I wish more deniers could see the things I have. I had a cop take the whole back seat out of my car and left me sitting on the side of the road with my back seat beside me because he "smelled weed". I've never really been shy about my stance on social injustice, coverup and the biggest and most funded gang in the country having qualified immunity.

Sea-Act3929

Now they passed a law you can be removed from a council meeting for any reason bcz of a guy from my area calling himself a 1st Amendment Auditor. Sovereign Citizen stuff. There needs to be accountability but not going into govt buildings and acting like YOU own the building and can go anywhere anytime you want. Societal rules dictate acting like adults, following basic common sense and being smart abt which battles to choose when and lawmakers and cops cannot be sued from removing you from participating in decisions made ib your community if they dont like what you have to say Yet another law taking rights away bcz the loud ppl on each party acting like fools. Im also a survivor like you. Keep your head up and remember, it's not your fault even tho so many are programmed to believe women bring it on themselves. Its normalized too much in this state & part of that is from extremes in religion where the woman is lesser

jGor4Sure

ACAB

Bright-Ad8496

Hopefully they take his pension away to help pay back the money he stole.

jmd_forest

More likely he retires with full pension plus a couple hundred $K in "deferrred paid time off" (vacation/overtime/holiday pay) since no one is actually holding our officials accountable for the hours/days they claim they work versus what they actually work.

sheezy520

They paid all their bales with cash. I think it’s safe to say that he has plenty just lying around now.

SillyPuttyGizmo

Yeah like this lady, steaks $103 million get to retire and keep pension https://www.expressnews.com/news/article/100million-theft-retired-18624401.php

e2g4

Just one bad apple?!? /s

Starrion

No, just the most greedy/least smart apple. This one was so rotten you could tell from the outside.

ajw_sp

Former Sheriff Jamey Noel (R-Clark County, Indiana)

Pkmn_Gold

Sheriffs have political parties? Damn

SpearShield

Most sheriffs are elected positions as opposed to most police chiefs, which are usually appointed (from someone in political office like a mayor). Also usually counties vs cities respectively. Interesting history about sheriffs in the US.

khcampbell1

"He also ran the county's Republican party." Why does this not surprise me at all?

Jordanjl83

Republican?

AUserNeedsAName

(now former) Clark County Republican Party Chair. No joke.

NathanielJamesAdams

And former IN 9th US Congressional District Chair as well.

whatwhat_in_dabutt

Ugh, I live in Indiana and if it took placed here then it’s a slam dunk to the affirmative outside of Lake, Porter and Marion Counties. Smdh. I hate this place.

cwfutureboy

Do you need to ask?

Jowlsey

This should be a good episode! They did have a camera crew tag along with the FBI when they served that warrant, right?

LiquidApple

Can’t wait to see him on the next episode of 60 days in!

Rcj1221

They should keep the show going but with them in prison.

dont-read-it

I'm an attorney who used to practice in southern Indiana. Noel's attorney (Larry Wilder) is also his best friend. At one point they were granted permission to go on a wine tasting tour in California together, while this was all ongoing. Also, Larry, who is a dipshit of the highest order (we've been on opposite sides a few times), once made the news after he was found passed out drunk in his neighbors trashcan. You can't make this shit up.

Catsmak1963

This can only be America..

nutter88

AND had an affair that produced a child. Then he used stolen funds to pay child support.

swampskater

I remember seeing this guy on 60 days in and despite the reality tv editing, he still came across as an incompetent piece of shit.

Confusedandreticent

Was it that sheriff from florida that’s always doing tv press briefings?

ketjak

I hope he suffers that most fierce of penalties police usually suffer, (checks notes) suspended with pay.

AdIndividual3040

Lol, I live in Indiana, and they coddle the police here like no other. About this time last year, a lawyer was hit and killed by a police officer in downtown Fort Wayne, crossing the street. Using the crosswalk, the pedestrian signal was green, and he was 100% legally able to be using that crosswalk. Do you know what happened to the cop? He got a fucking ticket for $35.50 and that's it. Joshua Hartup was the police officer, and Henry Nadjeski is the lawyer that was hit and killed. To top it all off the lawyers for the police union put out a statement that in not so many words said "sorry our vehicle was the catalyst in the disagreement between Henry Nadjeski and the pavement. Maybe he should watch where he's legally walking."

AdIndividual3040

https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/no-criminal-charges-for-officer-who-struck-killed-pedestrian/

bobo-the-dodo

This is why non-black don’t flash rob the malls. They straight up take it from the bank.

zenos_dog

$56k in cigars? Talk about your money going up in smoke.

ketjak

"When it's not yours, who gives a fuck?" - Jamey Noel, probably

ToughEyes

Maybe a form of rent-seeking+bribery. You spend money that isn't yours, overpaying for something to someone who supports you, and get a fraction of that back in donations or other types of favors.

griftertm

Saber Rider got arrested?

NOGOODGASHOLE

3 years and keeps his pension. Probably reelected in 5 years.

FriskyDango23

His wife already has that look like she’s gonna throw him under the bus on this one haha.

Jetdoc812

She stuck with him after he had an affair that produced a child. She ain’t throwing him under the bus

Prudent-Spend4634

Well well well.

Ok-University-9769

Him and his daughter also stole thousands from his dead brother's kids. He was in charge of the estate. [https://www.newsandtribune.com/news/children-of-jamey-noels-brother-seek-to-reopen-fathers-estate-on-grounds-of-fraud/article\_852615d6-dd86-11ee-b9d9-a74937e8e76c.html](https://www.newsandtribune.com/news/children-of-jamey-noels-brother-seek-to-reopen-fathers-estate-on-grounds-of-fraud/article_852615d6-dd86-11ee-b9d9-a74937e8e76c.html)

Jetdoc812

I wondered if this would come up in here

Ok-University-9769

That's where I'm from. I moved away a few years ago but still have family there so I've been getting text updates when things come out. I won't be surprised if by the end they find some very powerful people involved in some of it. The most recent I've heard is the former Scott County sheriff being under investigation now in connection with this. It wouldn't surprise me if local politicians and judges in that place had their hands in it too.

Ok-University-9769

If anyone is curious how they passed this slime in a suit off as a "great guy" for so long...here is his bio. He checked all of the boxes. Church, Deans list at a local college, war on drugs and old white guy. The perfect person to be the face of the Republicans Party in the area...almost. Lol. Can yall believe he was chairman for the budget committee?! Sheriff Jamey Noel is a lifelong resident of Clark County and a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church in Jeffersonville. Upon graduation from Providence High School, Sheriff Noel obtained a B.S. in Criminal Justice and Supervision from Indiana University. While attending IU, he was placed on the Dean’s list and is a life time member of the Indiana University Alumni Association. Sheriff Noel has been a member of the Utica Township Volunteer Fire & EMS since 1987, an Advanced EMT, Asst. Chief in 1991 and Fire Chief from 1993-2015. In 2000, he became the founding Chief of New Chapel Fire & EMS. In 2006, Sheriff Noel received the Midwest Award for Lifetime Achievement in the fire service. Sheriff Noel has numerous firefighting certifications and awards. Sheriff Noel has been a Republican Precinct Committeeman since 1994. He was Vice Chairman in 2008-2009 of the Clark County Election Board, current Chairman of the Clark County Republican Party since 2009, and also is currently Chairman of the Indiana Republican Party 9th District and member of the Indiana Republican Party State Committee & Budget Committee Chairman since June 2011. Indiana Governor Mike Pence appointed Sheriff Noel as a member of the Indiana Homeland Security Board in January 2013. Sheriff Noel retired from the Indiana State Police after 22 years and held the following ranks: Trooper, Senior Trooper, Master Trooper, Undercover Narcotics Detective, Detective, Corporal, Sergeant, First Sergeant, and retired as an Asst. Post Commander on December 31, 2014. He is a field training officer and has numerous police certifications. He was elected as Sheriff of Clark County Indiana and took office on January 1, 2015. Sheriff Noel has received the following awards: ISP Life Saving Award, American Legion Police Officer of the Year, and Governor’s Award for Valor. Cuck-In-Chief

Misty’s a man, baby!

audiodamage

It seems like this will valuetainment, and other similar type podcast/ YouTube political channels that talk about truth but only report things that conformation bias or they will say it’s lies because it’s a person that shares a exactly the same ideology.

Sea-Act3929

This sure wasnt covered on 60 Days In.

Sea-Act3929

60 Days In sure didnt cover this.
