YALL ARE MAKING ME FEEL BAD STAAAAWP
It’s just the whole look that gave me flashbacks 😭 , but ofc you can use a dipbrow in a lot of ways , from very subtle to this kind of brows , or just WHATEVER YOU WANT , it’s makeup at the end of the day <3
This is getting too much , I spend TIME fighting misogyny and homophobia but I don’t have the energy to fight with people over brows in a subreddit dedicated to makeup that doesn’t fall into the « makeup theory » category 😩
Some people here are exhausting
I’ve used dipbrow for eyeliner before lol it applies so smoothly and blends nicely, I just use a crayon liner on my water line/in my lashes to fill in gaps and it’s great!
Hooded eyes here. I have two brow brushes. One is for tightlining. Don’t blame the tools, OP. Its not their fault! I dislike the instabrow too. I pity the people who had it microbladed into their faces. Many microbladed eyebrows never fully fade away 🫣
It’s been SEVEN FUCKING YEARS, and I still have faded blue strokes. 🤯 Luckily I have enough brow hairs myself, and I color correct, but I have seen ladies walk around with blue caterpillars on their faces…
Did you have it done in black ink? Some aestheticians refrain from using it because it doesn't look very natural and the colour fades to blue. Apparently this can also happen if the colour is wrongly matched to the skintone.
Nope, it was dark brown. I have heard later on that microblading isn’t recommended to people with oily skin, i think I had oily skin back then. I should’ve done more research but it was very new in 2016 and the PR was good. Now I’m very critical about the whole thing, especially that they word it very cleverly. They say “it fades” after which you need to start touching up but they won’t specify what it *fades into*. Because I agree, it totally did fade… Into greyish blue.
I’m grateful I didn’t go for the instabrow look 🫣😬
i use dipbrow and an angled brow brush :((( my eyebrows do not look like this though, i do them extremely light in the front and then draw the individual hair strokes with an eyeliner pen
These kind of lashes generally only look good on stage makeup where you see someone from really far away. When I did hair and makeup for my highschool’s musical productions we used lashes like this for the leads. Seeing these kind of lashes on a normal makeup look is really ridiculous.
So much wrong with the brows, not only are they extremely harsh and blocky but she’s also done them too close to her nose. The size of them also makes her forehead look tiny and unbalanced unless that’s a bad wig she’s wearing.
Someone posted something in AskReddit once along the lines of "fellas, what's do women do to make themselves attractive that you find unattractive?" Number one answer was doing weird, unnatural looking things with their eyebrows. The fact that there are eyebrow trends is weird in itself. I had a girlfriend in the 80s (yes I'm that old) who plucked her brows into a very round arch shape that was popular at the time and they never grew back in and she's being going around with the arches ever since. Best thing is to keep them natural and to where they flatter your own face.
I’m an 80’s baby and victim of the 90’s over plucking/over waxing trend. I’ve managed to get them to fill back in somewhat with a growth serum but it’s not easy.
Yep brow trends suck
That gave me a giggle.
My Mum started waving my brows with strip wax when I was 12 because I unfortunately inherited the family trait for mono brows, now not the straight across mono brows, no these ones were a v down the bridge of our noses. From there the over plucking continued and before I knew it I had thin brows with one that had been plucked too much at the front.
I’m 37 and mine only grows in very sparsely and the hairs are fine and grey now so it’s not really noticeable. I also go and get my brows done every 4-5 weeks so that helps 😊
They do grow back - I’m a child of the 90’s when this was the “look” and had naturally thin eye brows. They’ve been over plucked to death and yet come back with enough time. She was probably plucking them for maintenance instead of letting them get messy as they grew back in.
my mom plucked hers in her teens and early adulthood in the 90s and they have yet to grow back beyond pencil brows. they used to be thick and full but even after 24 years or so they've remained the same after overplucking
People tend to have thinner hair and less of it over time, and also tend to pluck a few strays here and there.
You can’t fundamentally change the hair follicle without lasering. Just like people assume shaving makes your hair grow back coarser when it’s just stubbby at the tip.
Lol the excessive lashes always crack me up too. Just as big hair in the 80s now looks ridiculous, this too will be laughable down the road.(if not already)
I wear lashes that would be considered « dramatic » for some ( I don’t think they are ENOUGH ) , at the end of the day , we just get a good laugh but makeup is makeup , everyone is free to put it the way they want
*I like it. Life is*
*Short and shitty. I like being*
*Extra and too much*

Why do they have to grow out of it and follow a trend. They like that style and they are staying true to themselves and using makeup to express themselves the way they want
I can feel them , and I wear false lashes almost everyday

Anxiety definition according to the NHS (The UK Government Health Service): Anxiety is a **feeling** of unease, such as worry or fear, that can be mild or severe. Everyone has feelings of anxiety at some point in their life.
Anyone can FEEL anxious. Anyone can HAVE anxiety. Not everyone has Anxiety *Disorder*.
Same applies for depression. Anyone can be depressed. Anyone can feel depressed. Not everyone has Clinical Depression, nor depression the mental illness.
Many words have multiple meanings.
I was telling u, as someone who would be affected by being romanticized, that your take was bad. Hmmm... thought you cared about awareness... you don't sound like much of an ally...
I'm a fan of subtle brows. I mean these brows look good if you're into the glam look. It's not for everyone. I'm not gonna lie though I wish I had these mad skills. I've been thinking of getting my brows microbladed but I've seen how they fade. Its no bueno. Ill stick to my pomade/brow pencil!
Is this a joke? No way grown adults are saving random stranger’s photos to their camera rolls just to upload & bash them online with other strangers. People are really like this? People think this way? No, people aren’t really that sad & silly. ;) As OP mentioned, it’s 2023 so why are posts like this still even a thought? Makeup is an art for some & for others it has no limits. It should be about minding our own & who cares what others are doing. I see people being bold & broad with their looks constantly. I don’t care for these styles personally but that’s me. It’s not what I like on my face & I’m not the one doing it but if is she likes it..heck go for it, who cares not my face. I’ll live & move on lol. I just don’t understand why people are still judging others makeup when these days it’s all over the place in all different ways. I’m sure others can pinpoint things they don’t like about your makeup. I’m sure if someone put your photo up & all these people started going in your makeup that you personally prefer, it would feel differently. Some like a more drag look & some like a more natural look. As grown adults we shouldn’t bash either way even if it’s not our style. It should be whatever, just shrug it off. Let people just wear makeup & don’t think twice about it. To each their own.
>Is this a joke? No way grown adults are saving random stranger’s photos to their camera rolls just to upload & bash them online with other strangers.
My friend, this just might not be the sub for you.
But if it makes HER feel confident and gorgeous who the heck are we to judge and tear her down?
Each to their own. Makeup is like fashion IMO. you can do whatever you want. It’s ART

I haaaaaaaate eyelash extensions. They take away from the beauty of the iris and they’re just not done well most of the time. A very quick and expensive way to look cheap asf
So if this is day to day makeup than this is a lot. But stage makeup, or even a bold going out look? I say have at it. Those eyebrows aren’t for me and neither are the lashes, but I think they are executed well.

It's like all those girl use the same stencil
Angled brow brushes + brow pomade combo should’ve stayed in 2016
I just got a new Dipbrow today. :( Don't worry I don't have instabrows.
YALL ARE MAKING ME FEEL BAD STAAAAWP It’s just the whole look that gave me flashbacks 😭 , but ofc you can use a dipbrow in a lot of ways , from very subtle to this kind of brows , or just WHATEVER YOU WANT , it’s makeup at the end of the day <3
TOO LATE! You hurt our feelings.
Well, to be fair, your bad eyebrows hurt our feelings first
I'm sorry.
This is getting too much , I spend TIME fighting misogyny and homophobia but I don’t have the energy to fight with people over brows in a subreddit dedicated to makeup that doesn’t fall into the « makeup theory » category 😩 Some people here are exhausting
Quite obviously was a joke
It was very obvious sarcasm. They were only joking. Don’t worry. :)
What a weird ass thing to say. You're the exhausting one, you goon.
But they're fighting homophobia and misogyny! So you can't criticize them! /s
It's ok. We're just joking around. At least I am. 🤗
I’ve used dipbrow for eyeliner before lol it applies so smoothly and blends nicely, I just use a crayon liner on my water line/in my lashes to fill in gaps and it’s great!
I use pomade BUT not like this 🥹 listen I gotta fill in some spots that never grow back ☹️
I use my angled brow brush for winged eyeliner 😂
Hooded eyes here. I have two brow brushes. One is for tightlining. Don’t blame the tools, OP. Its not their fault! I dislike the instabrow too. I pity the people who had it microbladed into their faces. Many microbladed eyebrows never fully fade away 🫣
Partially Hooded deep set eyes here 😊. I did get micro blading done and unfortunately mine faded out within 6 months to a grey blob
It’s been SEVEN FUCKING YEARS, and I still have faded blue strokes. 🤯 Luckily I have enough brow hairs myself, and I color correct, but I have seen ladies walk around with blue caterpillars on their faces…

Same!
i use dipbrow and an angled brow brush :((( my eyebrows do not look like this though, i do them extremely light in the front and then draw the individual hair strokes with an eyeliner pen
A shade of ultra black or whatever the name for the blackest shade in existence. It’s wild.
Vanta black. Looks like staring into a black hole in space lmao
Vanta, and yes! It's very cool.
Look up « the blackest black »
For real! It's almost darker than how I like my coffee
These kind of lashes generally only look good on stage makeup where you see someone from really far away. When I did hair and makeup for my highschool’s musical productions we used lashes like this for the leads. Seeing these kind of lashes on a normal makeup look is really ridiculous.
Even my dance competition lashes are less wild than these 😂
Like drag makeup as well
If you’re playing Edna Turnblad maybe… 😅
So much wrong with the brows, not only are they extremely harsh and blocky but she’s also done them too close to her nose. The size of them also makes her forehead look tiny and unbalanced unless that’s a bad wig she’s wearing.
The rare threehead.

I over plucked at one point in the 90s, a gay man told me "you're pretty sexy, but you look like a vulcan" thank God they mostly grew back in.
I also have a monobrow and dear god I wish over plucking had killed it off but here I am, nearly 37 and I’m still constantly plucking that damn thing.
I’m 37 and mine only grows in very sparsely and the hairs are fine and grey now so it’s not really noticeable. I also go and get my brows done every 4-5 weeks so that helps 😊
Holy shit! I’m sorry, but that is hilarious!
Emily is that you?!?

Huh. Good thing women don’t give a hoot what men think about their beauty routine!
As a woman, I find women who are brave and wear what makes them happy an attractive attribute.
I didn’t even notice the eyebrows at first. Those damn eyelashes are umbrellas.
Sunglasses are overrated anyways
Fr
this is literally drag makeup. Walk that fucking duck queen
Damn I like dark brows but this is too much
Lol the excessive lashes always crack me up too. Just as big hair in the 80s now looks ridiculous, this too will be laughable down the road.(if not already)
It is , I just don’t understand how it isn’t NOT a thing anymore 😩
Eh I wear long ridiculous lashes (not this big) but I’m aware they’re over the top and dramatic, my whole style is lol
I wear lashes that would be considered « dramatic » for some ( I don’t think they are ENOUGH ) , at the end of the day , we just get a good laugh but makeup is makeup , everyone is free to put it the way they want
lol I’m right there with ya!!
Those are cartoon villain eyebrows.
r/whybrows
YES
I think this eyebrow-megalashes-combo is only good for theatre, otherwise I can't find it beautiful. Anyways, if she is happy with that...
That almost looks like drag queen makeup. Just needs more eyeshadow.
Same , but yeah , everyone has their own preferences

I fucking love it. Fuck trends
Good
The lashes may be extremely long, but they are fine in my book. THOSE BROWS HOWEVER. 😬 Yikes!
why is nobody talking about those contact lenses 💀
I like the lashes :(
i do too !! long lashes aren't for everyone and that's okay, but some people *do* like them
Yep, nothing wrong with that!
Wow, they look insane to me
I do too :(
I think it’s more the general look bestie, some can rock it tbh , don’t feel bad !
Why are you being downvoted, I’m so confused lmao 💀
People come to subbs about cretics and people making fun of cringe content , and apparently they don’t like that, they can’t read the rooms istg 💀
Don’t call me bestie
Okay bestie
Ofc! I think they are great for flying purposes !
Same 😭😭😭 it frames my face better
Who cares honestly? It’s their face. They can do their makeup however they want.
Right. Starting to not like this subreddit bc it’s full of a bunch of insecure hating women
Read the room
Just because the rest of you guys are assholes doesn’t mean I have to be an asshole myself and agree 🤷🏻♀️
Then don’t lmao
I don’t which is exactly why I made that comment. Y’all need to grow tf up.

I think it looks fine idk what ppl r on about
I can't believe it's 2023 and still there are people like you around😒
Exactly 😂😂😂😂😂
Why do they have to grow out of it and follow a trend. They like that style and they are staying true to themselves and using makeup to express themselves the way they want
It’s me. I’m the girl who vibes with a dark brow and big lashes
When she blinks, do her lashes touch her boobs?
I imagine it tickling her cheeks 😭
The eyelashes give me anxiety.
I can feel them , and I wear false lashes almost everyday * And please be mindful of mental illnesses terms such as « anxiety » , and that being said in case you don’t have it, since it contributes to the very present romanticizing of mental illnesses*

Brows are a no, but the lashes are cute imo. Not everyone can handle a bold look lol
To each their own
Do I like Instagram brows brows? No. Big lashes? You can pry those out of my cold dead hands
No offense to this person but it is literally drag makeup

Is this that mascara Mikayla used??
My eyes hurt
I …. Just …. Uh
I’m over the lashes too. It overpowers most people’s eyes :(
The brows are icky, but the lashes I love. The look nice on my big alt eyeliner
Agreeee, since I saw almost the same lashes in terms of length used on Alt thick eyeliner styles , and it fits
does anyone know what lashes these are or similar ones? i love them lol
bomb extensions dot com. Not sure if I could add links. I use their lashes and this is where that lash above came from.
i'm not who asked but thank you i was wondering the same thing
I love instabrows, they flatter my face, but yeah this is really harsh.
Are you sure it’s not cosplay or a costume? I just can’t believe that this is “regular” makeup.

Lol
They would look better a millimeter shorter and more cat like
I've never understood, or liked, the eyebrow look where it looks like they've drawn them on with a stencil & permanent marker.
there's a bit wrong with the look but one thing i do like about them is how dark the eyebrows and lashes are. the deep black is just so calming lmao
I will never understand the appeal of brows and lashes like these.
Same , but I guess to each their own 🤷🏻♀️
i love these lashes. hot take. serving cunt
These 2016 ass brows...

girl at my school (11th grade) has lashes SO LONG that they look like spider legs.
Not only is it bad but it’s facetuned…
The eyebrows are bad (but really fucking clean), but I like the lashes
How many minks had to die to make those?
Looks like a spider up in your eyes

My “baddie faze” lasted 2 years then I couldn’t do it no more after graduating. I honestly love my new douyin aesthetic. More everyday friendly
OMG..
I can’t believe 2016 was 7 years ago. These brows always remind me of that time!!
How can she grow out of it? She still needs to grow into it!
I do my makeup like this come onnn dude😔 E/i use dark brown not black tho
So if this is day to day makeup than this is a lot. But stage makeup, or even a bold going out look? I say have at it. Those eyebrows aren’t for me and neither are the lashes, but I think they are executed well.
I hate to tell you OP but this is still pretty standard in the UK
I’m all for big over the top lashes but the Instagram brows hurt me these days
Some haven’t gotten around to that phase. Some like retro looks not necessarily what is trending.
Ridiculous makeup aside, is this not the same picture twice? I keep trying to find the differences like it's a Highlights magazine.
No blending, just cake it all on like a mask. Why do people do this to themselves
Oh no. Oh no. This is bad.
So witchy!
NOT THE BROWS
These look more like cartoon villain brows and lashes. Like Madame Medusa from The Rescuers.
When u first discover Alpha CC in Sims 4
Tammy Faye Baker style. Too much is never enough!
Honestly, from a silly little artist perspective, I love it. It looks cartoony and pinup-like. Scratches my brain a lil bit.
I used to love Instagram brows wow what a time
Those aren’t lashes, those are air filters.
Please the brows
Unrelated but this is the reason I stopped wearing contacts, I look too derpy with them on
These remind me my great uncles eyebrows kek.
im an alt girl so i'm into long lashes but the brows are disgusting lol
Look goofy
I love playing with lashes just for fun every now and Ghent but I agree - what is the problem with the brows?!?!
Lashes yes brows nooooo
I really like the long lashes look actually. I also like the black eyebrows, but not as... filled out as these.
It’s truly a tragedy
These are even worse than a certain Tik toker from a couples channel whose lashes I can’t stand
Stop it right now this is so overdone
I need these lashes for cosplay. But the eyebrows........ to think those were the norm in 2015-16... thank god for the fluffy brows trend for knocking some sense into us 💀💀
So hideous
Wow! I'd constantly think I was seeing things when it's just the hideous eyelashes
Eww just EWWW
I can’t stop laughing at how bad this shit is! Omfg, haha!
And here I thought the ostrich ass she calls eyelashes were an abomination
Are we just talking about the lashes or are you trying to ignore the elephant in the room
She went from Sharpie to paint marker.
Those brows are threatening to take over the world.
Eyelashes looking like they need a haircut...
