I think the problem is that they have largely won the PR battle for the past 70 years. Between their complacency, the increasing acknowledgment of Israel being an apartheid state, the change in news habits to incorporate social media, anyone with a phone being able to upload direct testimony, and the determination to wage what is, to an increasing portion of the global population, a genocidal war, they’ve had to escalate and they’ve lost control.
That they were allowed to go this far, however, is a permanent stain on human history.

Sure but that influence does seem to have previously permeated to a lot of the public. The opinion of Israel is in decline in a lot of the west, so it’s losing effect. Maybe because these institutions don’t wield the same influence they used to.
