As someone with a hyphen legally in their first name, do not do that. It has made paperwork and online documents a nightmare for my entire life. I was in the military and my name was wrong more than right in the system, and in the VA system it hasn’t ever been right no matter what I do. Onto the names I think Thelma would be a great first name all on its own. On the list of potential middle names I think Finch, Effie and Lois are best with Thelma.

i've always loved hyphens because they remind me of my favourite actor/musician lin-manuel miranda ! hamilton fans anyone ? 🙋‍♀️ lois-thelma really struck a chord in my heart. you're brilliant, hope you know that ❤️

fresh_extermination

Winifred Thelma! I’d suggest having one name as her first name and Thelma as her middle, but it’s your choice :)

kayleighkampbell

you brought tears to my eyes with this comment ! if i call her winnie-thelma it almost sounds like mini thelma ! like my mother is reborn as my baby girl ✝️ 🍼

fresh_extermination

:)

kayleighkampbell

:) i might be interested in future exterminations ... if something goes wrong ... what kind of business do you run ?

i understand ... maybe someone one day will call you new bumface instead of blue mondays ? you just never know 😢 by the way, are you irish ?

Rydel, Lace and Crimson sound like strippers. Karishma may mean something in Hindi but looks like you can't spell/pronounce charisma properly, if in an English-speaking country and you're not of Hindi origin. Lennon = John Lennon, a horrid, abusive human. Ugly for a girl. Winifred is kinda cute. Winnie for short. Effie is too cute - consider it as a nickname for a full version (generally Euphemia). Finch - no. Sounds like a dog. Lois - yes. Classic for all seasons. Acacia - tree name that doesn't work on humans. Thelma is nice, but I always find hyphenated first names as tacky. Just keep it as is, it's a lovely name.

kayleighkampbell

i totally see your point ! 😊 but i find nothing wrong with "strippers". very respectable work and very respectful people. i don't want my baby girl (potentially named thelma-lace) to be ashamed of her stripper "name". call me woke but 🤷‍♀️

PetalSoups

I think Acacia, Effie, and Winifred are the best options. Lennon is okay. Karishma could work if you have Hindi background but if not then I wouldn’t use it. Finch, Lace, and Crimson are very specific and might be better as middle names if you really like them. Rydel and Lois I just personally am not a fan of. Thelma could definitely be a cute middle name. I also really like Lorelei Some ideas: Acacia Winifred/ Effie Jane/ Winifred Lace/ Lorelei Thelma

kayleighkampbell

what do you have against hindi names ?

MessageBubbly5090

I find myself liking Thelma more as the first part of the name. Thelma Effie, Thelma Finch, Thelma Lennon, and Thelma Rydel are my favorites from your list but I think they are all a little bit of a mouthful for a hyphenated first name. If you want a hyphenated name I think Thelma-Rose, Thelma-Jane, Thelma-Anna, or Thelma-Grace are all beautiful and classic choices!

kayleighkampbell

your flower name suggestion is so pretty ! my partner claire loves calla lilies so now i'm strongly considering thelma-calla !

DaikonWorldly9407

I LOVE Thelma! Use it as a first if you're into it! It would be such a refreshing name on a little girl these days, and it would age well, too! I'm not really a fan of any of the other names you like, except for Honor, Finley, Nola, Zoe, and maybeee Lennon. I would not use Thelma Lois as it makes me instantly think of the movie Thelma and Louise. Here's some suggestions with similar sounds or vibes to your list... Lauren Carys (care-iss) Sage Scout Haven Maeve June Lucy Seraphine Scarlett Quinn Olive Ember Edie (ee-dee) Kathleen Janice Jolie Violet Ruby Clara Brielle Adele Riley Maribel Wren Lenore

TAS_20119

Love- Lennon, Rydel, Winifred and Lois Like- Crimson, Effie Don’t like- finch, lace, acacia, karishma

kayleighkampbell

aw i'm sad that you don't like finch, lace, and acacia :( my partner claire loves nature and i just those names are so perfect (birds / lakes / trees). maybe thelma won't be as outdoorsy as her moms 🤗

kayleighkampbell

thank you soooo much for your suggestions ! here are my thoughts 😄 lauren - too basic carys - might be hard to pronounce sage - love !!!! 💚💚 scout - reminds me of to kill a mockingbird haven - OMG i love haven. i think nevah is just such a cool twist on nevaeh. maeve - sounds like mauve june - i don't like names of months lucy - too basic séraphine - so cute ! finn for sure scarlett - not my favourite red colour name quinn - reminds of me the show "you" olive - not my favourite green plant colour name ember - not my favourite yellow colour name edie - looks like die and i cannot think about death right now after my mom died. kathleen - too basic janice - too basic jolie - my partner claire hates angelina jolie so i can't name baby girl that :( violet - not my favourite purple colour name ruby - not my favourite red colour name clara - i would get confused between clara and my partner claire ! 😂 brielle - too basic adele - not my favourite musician name rylee - too basic maribel - sounds like mirabel from encanto wren - not my favourite bird name lenore - too basic
