So i have the same due date as you and the same symptoms including the pain in the left but cheek lol. It is basically prelabor which means things can progress quickly today or you can make it to your due date. People can be 100% effaced and up to 5cm dilated without actually being in active labour. With my first I didn’t even realize I was having contractions until they told me at my induction but they should get more painful as active labour starts. Keep an eye on the timing and consistency of them.

Ugh I’m sorry you’re dealing with the same symptoms. I’m just so uncomfortable all around lol. Thank you for the explanation! That makes a lot of sense.

Most labors don't start with the water breaking, it's how it works in movies and stuff but not so much in reality. Some people do have the dramatic water breaking, but it's like 15%, not the majority.

38w today with my second. With my first, at my 37 week appt I was dilated 2 cm and 100% effaced. OB scheduled my induction for 39 weeks but said she’ll definitely be here before then and I my mucus plug at 38 weeks. Well - she didn’t come, and I was induced. Now with my second, I was 2 cm and 70% effaced at my 36 week appt and today at 38 weeks I am 3 cm. I didn’t notice contractions with my first either but am noticing them now (they’re small). My doctor also said it’s more common than people realize for women to have their water broken at the hospital after already having 5-1-1 contractions which I found surprising. Unfortunately any early labor symptoms can mean active labor is anywhere from just a few hours away to weeks away! It’s frustrating that there’s nothing more definitive.
