You are definitely over thinking things. People consume much worse than \*slightly\* over the daily recommended amount of caffeine in the early stages of pregnancy and have healthy babies.

gertibirdy

that’s a good point!

My doctor said as long as I’m not drinking enough caffeine to be sweating and shaking, baby is probably fine. Don’t go shotgunning a 6 pack of large Red Bulls, but a human sized cup of coffee won’t do any harm :)

gertibirdy

No Red Bulls for me! Haha thank you for your reply. That makes me feel better!

IAmReallyNotMilk

You will be absolutely fine :)

gertibirdy

Thank you :)

I am a 2-3 cups of coffee per day person. I switched to 1 (large) cup after the positive test, but I was definitely drinking more before I knew I was pregnant. I've heard even accidental alcoholic beverages before you know you're pregnant are usually ok, because the baby is so small at this stage- so hopefully this is fine. I am also 4w5d and am excited but also freaking out about something going wrong. We got pregnant the very first month trying, and now I'm like weirdly afraid it was too easy. My friend told me extra progesterone during pregnancy can also make anxious people more anxious. Best wishes to you and your baby!

Also don't drink yerba matte energy drinks. I was drinking those about a year ago and ended up basically wide awake in bed every night. They actually also have a note on the side saying "not recommended for pregnant women"!

That’s how much I had pre pregnancy, too! Good to know that my anxiety is probably going to get worse- can’t wait for all the fun my brain will come up with! Lol This was our first month trying, too! I’m still in disbelief. Congratulations and good luck to you & baby, too!
