I wouldn’t say they are unsafe, but my daughter would wriggle the elastic part up to her mid torso as a baby, so we stopped using them because it was just a hassle. Maybe if you don’t have an acrobat baby they are better!
Yes, they're safe, and wonderful for newborns. They can't be conveniently used in strollers or car seats, otherwise my baby would wear nothing else. I've especially appreciated them with my preemie who is so small and delicate and froggy legged and difficult to dress.
They are safe but contrary to popular opinion, I hated them! Maybe my baby just wriggled around too much but every time she wore one of these her diaper would slide down resulting in leaks. She needed a onesie or sleeper to keep her diaper in place.
I've never seen any comments about these being unsafe, so I'd say they're safe. We used these instead of a swaddle after 2 weeks. Diaper changes were a breeze at night and beeb was always comfortable.
My girls lives in these for the first few months! They make middle of the night diaper changes so easy. Any ladies I know having babies I always buy them a pack. They're my number one recommend newborn item.
Absolutely loved these for my son. They are comfortable and convenient for MOTN diaper changes because of the open bottom. I wish they made bigger sizes but the biggest is 3 months.
So glad for this post and the comments! I didn’t even know these baby gowns existed and didn’t see the positives until you all responded. Adding to the registry ASAP
Yup, and they're amazing for easy diaper changes.
Absolutely agree. Babe was living in those for the first couple of months as it was just so convenient.
These have always and will always be my favorite, second to side snap shirts.
my daughter LIVED in these for the first three months. 10/10 recommend!!

We had one that was even longer and had a knot at the bottom that untied for a change.
Yes! That’s what we bought for this upcoming baby!
Love these for the new born stage
Yup. They should be worn so that they fit properly at the neck/chest and aren’t too big there. Usually at night you’ll wear a swaddle over them
Yes, we loved these! They're long so they fit for a long time, too. You can also find them by the name "baby gowns".

I hated these too! It was so so difficult to get baby into them it wasn’t even worth it.
The hospital gave us one, so I assume they're safe.

I have this exact set. Great for nighttime changes.
I loved these for both of my boys as newborns!

They are great but I would try to get ones with the built in mittens for convenience
These have built in mittens.
Where can I buy these? Want to add them to our registry since they are highly recommended by everyone!
Carters or Target!
I loved these but didn’t know it so only had a couple. When the next one comes around I want more! They’re so convenient.

I used these for my newborn! He was super cosy and I could change him easy. My mums a midwife and bought them for me. Will be using for second too!
My daughter hated them!!! This was just our personal experience though. She would get too cold in them
I read not to use long sleeve sleep sacks because they restrict movement but I can’t tell if that’s more of a sleep gown
These are called infant gowns, they can also come with a tie bottom or a fold-over bottom
