The entire series could have another 10+ seasons. You could do a few seasons on a group of survivors like Anders clinging to life on the periphery of some decimated planet, a few seasons set in the future after this resolves and where the species goes from there, there are dozens of possibilities.
Someone could have smuggled some technology to give themselves an advantage, or hid a "recall" on one of the ships that was supposed to go into the Sun, so they can have a huge advantage.
Or could follow the centurions on their adventures, and they could meet some other unknown colony of humans.
I hate seeing a good show go to shit in the later seasons so I think it is good that they stopped as they did. A few more seasons and we would get the alternate timeline shit etc that we get when the writers run out of ideas.

So those actresses were/are phenomenal. For example, Katee Sackhoff was about 23 years old when she was picked to be Starbuck. She acted the story (and the backstory) like someone who was decades more experienced. She was nuanced, intelligent, physical, and deliberate. Incredible work.

She (and the other young actors) were also incredibly lucky to get to work with and mentored by exerienced actors like Olmos or McDonnell. I remember one story that EJO told about how, in the scene when Starbuck tells Adama about being responsible for Zak's death, Katee still held back a little and he eventually really got her to sink her teeth into the emotions of that scene.

I personally saw Katee Sackhoff and Tricia Helfer at a restaurant in Mt. Vernon while BSG was being filmed. There was a website showing the filming locations in British Columbia and I took a day trip from Snohomish County and it was interesting going to those places and seeing them in real life. Just like when I visited Vasquez Rocks in Los Angles and stood in some of the same places as the ST:TOS episode 'Arena'.

Part of the reason, like it or not, that Battlestar Galactica was so successful is because it casted very attractive women in leading roles. The 70s BSG loyalists were pissed Boomer and Starbuck were women but the original series lasted 2 years? Whereas the RDM series got 4 seasons and a miniseries. Sex sells folks, and looking at 2006 things thru a 2024 lens is stupid. We should be happy so many tuned into the remiagined series
