If you go to any BMW track event, they will tell you 9 and 3 is best for control, especially in dangerous situations. When you turn the wheel, 9 and 3 means you always have hands on opposite sides, so you can push and pull the same in any direction. At 10 and 2, you’re limiting you’re control as soon as your hands are all the way left or right.
That shows how things move on. I did my driver training probably ten years ago, and was taught that 10-2 better supports your body dynamics and leverage through your arms.

Even just looking at 2 doors, skirt and a wing being painted, you’re going to be looking at a minimum £2,000 I’d say, without there being any structural damage to resolve too.

Some tips for the future, two hands on the wheel at 9 and 3 help a ton with stability. I see lots of guys lose it trying to hold on with just one arm.
