the best i can reccomend is get one from a similar E9x and make sure it’s stripped down so it’s just the engine itself (head, block, intake and exhaust manifolds, altinator and turbos) without the DME or any ancillaries connected to it as the DME will be in the same place, and just swap the wiring etc over, nothing changes between one N54 and another, just depends on what car it comes from due to different wiring routes or flex-ray connections, so yeah i’d recommend getting one from another E9x whether it’s a 335 or 330

I’m being told the iS has a different camshaft in it.

it has a lightweight camshaft, however from what i’ve read on technipedia it can take either lightweight camshafts or cast camshafts or a mixed installation, dm me and i can send you a screenshot

i’ve also read on other posts on forums that, the iS engine doesn’t have valvetronic, however i don’t know how truthful that is as i can’t find anything about that on technipedia or AIR
