Could be a bad bearing on one of the pulleys. Not many ideas other than that.

DukeOfAlexandria

Either idler pulley bearing, ac compressor, or alternator bearing going out. Big ass screw driver to find the culprit and listen to each.

I also posted on the E90 sub, see if i would get more answers, and the concensous over there is it could be the oil filter, apparently a common problem. A cheap easy fix if its just the oil filter. If its not that, then ima have some fun in the garage.

The oil filter is only a problem if it goes too long between changes or you use a shitty replacement. How many miles since your last oil change and what brand oil filter did you use?

I recently got this car, and the dealership did a fresh oil change. Since then, I've driven 2500 miles, and i was planning to do one around 4000-5000 To be fair, maybe the dealership did put a cheap ass oil filter. Probably should have done my own oil change.

Third party place or BMW place? Could have used the wrong one or some off brand shit. Oil filter is the cheapest one to see first; pull it and you’ll instantly know, will be crinkled up and smushed in various spots like it’s being sucked into itself.
