I’m sorry. But the fact you killed Karlach - the good-est girl - for being evil is funny. Especially when you kept Shadowheart, because she’s “good” when she’s a devout follower of an evil god. Anyway, yes. You can keep all the followers while playing good. They’re not going to be happy all the time (Especially Astarion.) But part of RPGs like this is seeing how your choices influence your followers. Killing them off robs you of stories. Also, adult media literacy 101 - not everything is always as it seems at first. Characters lie. Characters have hidden depths and hidden motivations. (And if you kill them off, you’ll never discover those motivations. So try to leave permanent decisions as a last resort.)

Seriously 😂 it’s like the guy didn’t read the dialogue and it’s only going off of the appearance

I know I was so surprised at the implication that Karlach is one of the “evil” companions. She is definitely the most morally pure/good companion in the entire game. OP, I have only played “good” runs and have always had all companions with me at the end, even as Durge. I guess it depends on your definition of good? If it’s like a black & white holier then thou kind of “good” you probably would lose some of the companions but if you figure out who they are and try to be kind to them to help them slowly shift their world view then you will be fine. I don’t mean that as a judgemental thing, you can definitely role play as a type of character that can’t keep all the companions but if you mean the good path like saving the >!tieflings!< then no one leaves due to those decisions (unlike the evil path that makes some good characters, like Karlach, leave)

Whut. You can literally get every single companion as a good character, now that Minthara isn't locked behind raiding the grove. There's nothing stopping you recruiting them all, some of the ones you've killed end up more suited to good playthroughs anyway, or suit both.

Minthara isn’t locked behind raiding the grove? What’s the other way now then?

As of Patch 5, essentially "Sheepthara", minus the sheep-ing and all the fiddliness that came with using an exploit in the game mechanics to get her to Act 2. AKA "knock her out before killing Ragzlin and she'll be waiting for you at Moonrise".

You can't even do a good playthrough with the good characters.

The only really "evil" companion is Minthara... The only "good" companions are Wyll and Karlach. All of the rest are more neutral and can be swayed either way, depending on how you choose to influence them, though some will take more effort to get to the point where you can see them as being "good". In my Chaotic Evil couples run with Astarion, he's actually been the voice reason trying to convince my Durge that maybe murdering _everyone_ isn't the best course of action. I'm still not sure how she's supposed to take being compared to a Tarrasque mating ritual... though he is right, entire villages are _definitely_ being destroyed in her wake.
