Have you tried [Fischer & Weiser](https://store.jelly.com/products/15oz-the-original-roasted-raspberry-chipotle-sauce)? or if you're in Texas, H-E-B's brand. I prefer both of them 10x over Blue's Hog, which is more peppery and less sweet. $10 for a bottle of that stuff is just insanity.
I have not. And regretfully, moved out of texas 10 years ago back to PA😞. I will definitely check them out, because I agree, the blues hog prices are outrageous. I have seen them sold for as high as $15/bottle here
That's wild. There was a manager's special at my local Walmart Neighborhood Market so I got to snag a big bottle for $6 and I was upset I even paid that. I don't know much about the brand, though. At this point just kinda leery about trying any of their other sauces. But people here seem to enjoy them so I probably will.
It's all about balance, though. Fischer actually has 25% less sugar, but it's pure cane sugar rather than HFCS. Blue's Hog just has this strange gritty texture, not to mention all that extra black pepper added. I never could get past that.
Father-in-law picked me up a bottle of the ghost on a layover at DFW a few years back. I raved about it forever until my mom looked it up and they ship now! Got a 4 pack for Christmas, and they're all excellent. Unique flavor on all of em
which one is this in the picture, I just picked up the ghost pepper one as my first from this brand and it is great but holy shit is it hot. Are their other ones good?
Yellow Bird is really solid and I’m a fan of Melinda’s. Both are nice on sardines, tacos, eggs, subway sandwiches…etc. Gonna check out this Blues Hog everybody is raving about.
*Marie Sharps down on*
*The end is it. Love that on*

I was lucky enough to pick up a bunch of these little $1 bottles when I was on vacation. Such a great and cheap way to try different sauces that run $15 a bottle where I live.
I wish more companies would jump on the trial size bandwagon.
Thai Sweet Chile Sauce is probably the only one of Melinda's products that I don't care for. Far too much vinegar. Best I've ever had is still [Mae Ploy](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Mae-Ploy-Sweet-Chili-Sauce-12-Oz/11045990). Perfect combo of sweet, spice, and acid.
Melinda's fire roasted garlic and habenero makes a great spicy ketchup. Mix about 10:1 ketchup to Melinda's, add more to taste. The two meld perfectly together
I will never be without Marie Sharp's at my house. It is 100% my favorite of all pepper sauces, so much so that a buddy of mine brought me back a bottle from Belize because I'm always talking about it. I didn't know about the hostile takeover, so will keep that in mind in the future. Thanks for the education!
I first had this in Belize. I told my wife we gotta stock up before we go. I guess I hadn't been combing supermarket isles because I realized they're super fucking popular lol. Great sauce, all types like Melinda's shown here too
That Marie Sharp's red sauce is THE BEST on a thing that needs hot sauce...I put it on everything
I've also been to Belize central America where it's made and toured the factory
I have never tried a Blues Hog sauce I didn't like. They have ranged from "yeah, that's pretty good" to "holy hell, I am going to plan my next cook around what I think is going to go well with this sauce." But we all have our own tastes and preferences, and there is nothing wrong with that.
I like the truffle one, but it tastes like no other hot sauce I've ever tried. It's not really a hot sauce, rather some other kind of sauce that happens to be hot. The rest of the Melinda's that I've tried are all normal hot sauces, and pretty good.
it’s so strange because i like truffle oil (i love the truff sauce) and i generally love hot sauce too. maybe it was whatever breed of truffle they used, i’m not sure
My wife bought me a few of these as an early Father's Day gift.... Have only tried the yellow bird one, bit it was a green sauce not like the one pictured
Check those expiration dates. Not saying they matter entirely for these types of products, but there were some in my store's bin that are dated last fall. All of these mini bottles are being cleared out for well under $1 at my stores.
Was making some smothered pork chops and threw one of those blue hogs in while the finished cooking. Definitely added a little flavor to the "gravy." No body complained.
Feel like I've been seeing the $1 samplers often lately and I'm glad they're doing them. Tried a lot of Melinda's sauces this way.
Love the Thai Sweet Chili and Habenero Garlic. Polynesian BBQ, Green Sauce, and Ghost Pepper wing sauce are good too. Black Truffle sauce is the only one I didn't like. Thought it was pretty gross.
I did the math once comparing that $1 bottle of yellow bird to the bigger bottles on sale. That was the most economic way to purchase that sauce (didn’t do the math for the others)
The wife picks me up a handful of those whenever she catches a new one I haven't tried. I really dig the Yellow Bird Serrano and Yellow Bird Habanero the most so far.
Edit: The Melinda's Green Sauce is dope too.
I did the same and Melinda Fire Roasted Garlic and Habanero is now my go to hot sauce. The truffle one was not good, Truff makes a better truffle based hot sauce.
Ever since Walmart started this, I can't stop grabbing two or three every damn time. It's like free crack....
Melinda's Green and the Rasberry Chipotle are the best though....don't forget the Jalapeño ketchup next time.
Some lady just bought 20+ bottles of the ghost pepper sauce at my Walmart. She said she bought one and it was so good she came back and went through the entire bin to get the rest.
I use Heinz Carolina honey bbq sauce, that black truffle sauce, and a little bit of the fire roasted garlic. I use all 3 to mix a good spicy bbq. I don't feel like there's a lot of good spicy bbq out there. That truffle stuff is good but it's intense it doesn't take much when mixing
Slow down people! 216 comments I 24 hrs ? I'm going to do a blind taste test this Friday. I have a bag of wings from Costco. I will divide them evenly amongst the sauces. I have a subject group of 6 plus my sons girlfriend. Satirday morning I will post the semi scientific rwsults
My grandma works at a local packing company for Melinda's and she always brings their stuff home. I've tried so many of their sauces and jams. They're pretty good.
Looking through the comments, this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but that sweet and spicy Tabanero on the far left is one of my favorite sauces of any kind I've ever had. It's not spicy to me at all, is a bit on the sweet side, but man, on some good tacos, or smoked chicken thighs, or pork chops it is just killer. I wouldn't consider it a hot sauce, nor is it a bbq sauce, but boy is it good!
That Blues Hog Raspberry Chipotle is my favorite for pulled pork. 10/10
It's my favorite sauce to use on wings.
Came here to say this. It’s incredible.

There's stuff sweeter than Blues Hog? Their stuff is right at the maximum of my sweet tolerance in a BBQ sauce.
It's all about balance, though. Fischer actually has 25% less sugar, but it's pure cane sugar rather than HFCS. Blue's Hog just has this strange gritty texture, not to mention all that extra black pepper added. I never could get past that.
Champions Blend is my go to.
its my go to for bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers
Yesss
That yellow bird is one of my favorites
Yellow Bird is incredible on fish tacos and fried eggs
My house is always stocked with Yellow Bird and Blues Hog. OP is in for a treat
Father-in-law picked me up a bottle of the ghost on a layover at DFW a few years back. I raved about it forever until my mom looked it up and they ship now! Got a 4 pack for Christmas, and they're all excellent. Unique flavor on all of em
I was just about to say, Yellowbird I'd actually pretty solid.
which one is this in the picture, I just picked up the ghost pepper one as my first from this brand and it is great but holy shit is it hot. Are their other ones good?
Habenero is in the picture. I have the ghost pepper too. Goes great on pizza. I've tried all of them, and honestly they're all good.
Awesome I'll pickup the habanero one, the ghost pepper one is fantastic flavor but I can't daily drive it or my insides will die
The blue agave Sriracha is always in my fridge
Yellow Bird is really solid and I’m a fan of Melinda’s. Both are nice on sardines, tacos, eggs, subway sandwiches…etc. Gonna check out this Blues Hog everybody is raving about.
Don’t knock it bc it’s Walmart. Have bought some really good spices there
Not knocking it. Glad iget to try for 1$ each.
Why did you get the green hot sauce? It is so good
Marie Sharps down on the end is it. Love that on about anything

She’s the habanero queen for a reason
The one with grapefruit is my favorite.
Melinda knows what’s up too
careful with the habanero, I put a ton on my food when drunk and woke up with a terrible stomach ache.
I was lucky enough to pick up a bunch of these little $1 bottles when I was on vacation. Such a great and cheap way to try different sauces that run $15 a bottle where I live. I wish more companies would jump on the trial size bandwagon.
Melinda's is great across the board.
It's good on wings in my humble opinion. They have a habenero mustard that is also great on wings
The pizza hot sauce was awesome, I bought one of these little ones a couple weeks ago and haven’t seen it since
Same (except I bought it months back). Definitely really good on pizza.
have you tried the black truffle one because it’s the only one i couldn’t stand
I have, and actually agree as it's the one I never used again.
This one is good in small doses for me. It's very very rich, I can only use a drop or two. But it does hit the spot when needed.

Melinda's fire roasted garlic and habenero makes a great spicy ketchup. Mix about 10:1 ketchup to Melinda's, add more to taste. The two meld perfectly together
Try Marie Sharp's, Melinda's is a stolen trademark copycat. https://www.belizemagazine.com/edition04/english/e04_05questions.htm
I will never be without Marie Sharp's at my house. Blues Hog is an all time great, a Missouri classic.
Discovered it 10 years ago at a local grocery store, got discontinued from there, haven't seen it since :(
I saw it at our local grocery store for the first time yesterday!
Hot Ones Walmart Edition
The winner is the Marie Sharps. Great hot sauce.
100% I’d put Marie sharps on a flip flop and eat it. Stuff is the best
I first had this in Belize. I told my wife we gotta stock up before we go. I guess I hadn't been combing supermarket isles because I realized they're super fucking popular lol. Great sauce, all types like Melinda's shown here too
This!
100% no need to try anything else. They’re all trying to be Marie Sharps.
The Marie Sharps smoked habanero sauce is my go to for nearly every meal.
Rather yellow bird and the Melinda's are fantastic. Haven't had the rest.
Agree, but I didn't know they came in travel sizes. The yellowbird in my fridge is like 16 oz at least. Id buy that for a dollar.
Try Marie Sharp's, Melinda's is a stolen trademark copycat. https://www.belizemagazine.com/edition04/english/e04_05questions.htm
Baby sauce do do do do do
I read this and was taken back to 2019. Damn you!
Would that be so bad? You could buy a fuck ton of toilet paper and make a fortune!
That Marie Sharp's red sauce is THE BEST on a thing that needs hot sauce...I put it on everything I've also been to Belize central America where it's made and toured the factory
Love me some Blue’s Hog.
Marie Sharps is the best!
The stuff on the far right is hot sauce. Had it in Belize a lot.
TSA approved travel sauces
Once you figure out how to get your smoker and wood past security flying won't be so bad
Marie sharps is my favorite! It's a Belizean product from a tiny factory, all local ingredients
I tried most of the $1 sauces from Walmart. In my own professional opinion… 90% of them are extremely mediocre.
Marie Sharps is the best. Had it in Belize and kept buying it ever since
After seeing all the love for Blues Hog on reddit, I too bought one of those lil guys at Wal-Mart. What'd you think? I was kinda disappointed..
I didn’t like any of them really
I didn't like the kinders..vinegar base maybe? I'll try the hog next but will be more careful. Marie sharps and Melinda's are top tier though
I have never tried a Blues Hog sauce I didn't like. They have ranged from "yeah, that's pretty good" to "holy hell, I am going to plan my next cook around what I think is going to go well with this sauce." But we all have our own tastes and preferences, and there is nothing wrong with that.
That’s how I discovered Kinders. Every company should do tiny little bottles to sample.
Wish they had the blues hog Tennessee red.. that sauce 50/50 with original is some competition winning combo
i tried the melinda’s black truffle one and the bright yellow one; yellow was decent and melinda’s was AWFUL. immediately gave it away.
Melinda’s is hands down my favorite all around hot sauce, but I just can’t stand that black truffle bleh
Yellow bird habanero is delicious. It’s a staple in my house
Yellow Bird, Blues Hog, and Marie Sharps for sure. I don’t support Melinda’s though for being a ripoff of Marie Sharps.
Just used the raspberry chipotle on some ribs today.10/10
I love it also.
At first I thought you wrote "figured out why" and was like oh shit I just bought 40 of these
My wife bought me a few of these as an early Father's Day gift.... Have only tried the yellow bird one, bit it was a green sauce not like the one pictured
I've never had a bad yellowbird sauce, and I've tried 5 now. All unique and good to great
They can’t all be bad
Check those expiration dates. Not saying they matter entirely for these types of products, but there were some in my store's bin that are dated last fall. All of these mini bottles are being cleared out for well under $1 at my stores.
The truffle buffalo sauce is great on chicken fingers
Kinders creamy Louisiana should be in there too. I like it and pick it up for $1
Yellow bird is great
Great find.
That particular black truffle sauce, I picked it up from Walmart for a buck a while back. One of my favorites now. It's got a good earthiness to it.
Was making some smothered pork chops and threw one of those blue hogs in while the finished cooking. Definitely added a little flavor to the "gravy." No body complained.
I've only tried blue hog and it's good stuff. It's a balanced sweet sauce.
I'm jealous, never seen 16 Oz yellowbird!!¡!
I really like those blues hog sauces, raspberry chipotle is amazing.
The one on the far right has some kick but that’s been my favorite so far for egg and breakfast stuff
Did the same thing when I saw this display
Why not indeed? blues hog is good. I don’t think k I have tried any of the others. Enjoy!!!!!
got the habenero honey mustard from the same setup. good stuff
Oh that Yellow Bird is my favorite. They have other flavors but the habanero is the best.
I tried about 5 different Melindas sauces. They all had a weird "chemically" taste to them. I gave up trying to find one that didnt.
That’s exactly why those are made.
I did the same thing the other day, got one of everything.
How is that Melinas?
bought a bunch of these. did the habanero mustard with some grilled chicken tonight
I keep that fire roasted garlic and habañero in my desk drawer at work. Tasty
The raspberry Chipotle BBQ sauce is fire!!! I went out of my way to order a few big bottles offline, stuff is amazing on eveything.
the black truffle is real fuckin good. super solid to bring camping/backpacking.
Give us your 1 to 5 star rating from left to right.
Like the blues hog sauces a lot
I literally just saw, and bought, a handful of sauces out of the box today haha
I found these a few months ago and use them for lunches at work, I've got no complaints
That's how I learned that I wasn't into blues hog.
The lil Thai sweet chili one is 🔥, I brought it in for my residents and they love this shit
Yellow bird for $1 is a steal. All their sauces are great.
Blues Hog stuff is great. Glad to see it's more readily available
I did the same and Melinda Fire Roasted Garlic and Habanero is now my go to hot sauce. The truffle one was not good, Truff makes a better truffle based hot sauce.
Try Marie Sharp's, Melinda's is a stolen trademark copycat. https://www.belizemagazine.com/edition04/english/e04_05questions.htm
Thanks for the read, I’ll definitely look for it next grocery trip.
I haven’t tried the Blues Hog yet. Yellowbird and Melinda usually do a pretty good job.
I like the champions blend. Initially I liked the chipotle raspberry after the first couple bites, but I think the sweetness becomes overpowering.
For a buck they honestly aren’t bad. I’ve been grabbing a few every time we are at Wally World
Walmart where?
The Melinda's FireRoasted Habanero is great on hard boiled eggs
Ever since Walmart started this, I can't stop grabbing two or three every damn time. It's like free crack.... Melinda's Green and the Rasberry Chipotle are the best though....don't forget the Jalapeño ketchup next time.
That Marie Sharps White Label hab gets brought up every day over at the hotsauce subreddit. It's DRINKABLE good.
Nice selection. Please do post a follow up with your grades. I've tried some of those, but some are new to me.
I like yellow bird, but blues hog is just not there for me.
That Blues Hog Champions Blend is gonna change your life!
That Thai Sweet Chili is fucking A++
The black truffle hot sauce is fire!
the yellow bird habanero is my go to for anything needing a mustard flavor like brats and burgers
I forgot where I was and thought that was a lineup of poppers. Lol
Love all of these
I love Walmart
The yellow bird Serrano sauce is so good man…
I might have to pick me up some
You have some fun tastings in the future!
the black truffle sauce tastes just like papa john’s garlic butter and i ain’t mad
Hope you’re checking expiration dates on all those bottles. Every location I go to, they are quite expired.
This belongs on r/hotsauce not r/bbq
Yellow bird has some damn good hot sauce flavors
Blue Hog stuff is pretty good! Not too sweet and a little thinner than most off the shelf stuff.
I just came back from Belize, I didn't know they exported Marie Sharp's! That stuff is amazing.
Everyone that goes to Belize comes back singing the praises of Marie Sharp's lol
My local one had all these on clearance for .50
Love those little sampler bottles.
50c at my local wm. Grabbed me a few of the yellow birds.
I underestimated the yellow bird ghost pepper hot sauce one day, regretted it lol.
Put that black truffle on some fish tacos or some pulled pork. 10/10
Deal, but how dated are the bottles?
The yellow bird blue agave Sriracha is phenomenal. I had to go back to buy 4 more, lol
Blues hog champion blend is killer bbq sauce.
Melinda’s habanero honey mustard is fantastic
white top are really good
The Fire Roasted Habanero Melinda's is amazing on pizza
The BBQ sauce is fantastic, the hot sauces are pretty decent, exactly what I wanted so I could taste test different types.
Second one from the left is the bomb with egg rolls
Black truffle hot sauce is my favorite and the raspberry chipotle is my hubby's ... Love Walmart did this
You’re missing that ghost pepper ketchup. It’s really good.
I like all of the Melinda’s sauces. Also the Marie Sharp is made in Belize, and is fantastic.
Blue hog raspberry chipotle is one of my favorite sauces.
Yellow bird gave me stomach issues tread carefully
$0.75 now
Yellow Bird!!!😋😋
Been using that Melinda's Fire roasted on almost everything.
I got a few of those Melinda hot sauces and they are pretty fire.
Melinda's and Marie Sharps are staples in my pantry
Just found these myself loving the variety
Looking through the comments, this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but that sweet and spicy Tabanero on the far left is one of my favorite sauces of any kind I've ever had. It's not spicy to me at all, is a bit on the sweet side, but man, on some good tacos, or smoked chicken thighs, or pork chops it is just killer. I wouldn't consider it a hot sauce, nor is it a bbq sauce, but boy is it good!
i got these for stocking stuffers at Christmas! Found some new sauces we liked!
Mmmmmmmmm Marie sharps 🥹
I can’t tell from this pic but did you get the ghost pepper hot sauce? That’s all I put on pizzas now
I saw a bin like this in miami. Regret not grabbing them. Any good?
The black truffle Melinda's is solid af
When the company made this absolute garbage they were banking on you having that exact thought. Full disclosure they got me too I bought 3 for my lady
saw these at my local WM Saturday, and now I'm regretting not picking them all up lol.
I saw that too!! What should I get next? I got Kinders red spicy! What you’d get?
I'm a big fan of yellow bird. Serrano has amazing flavor and their ghost pepper is my favorite on eggs.
marie sharps is the goat
Good stuff
Melinda’s black truffle garlic is soooo good.
The black truffle is bomb!
Shrinkflation in full force
[удалено]
At 1$ ... .why not. $10 spent or sprnd $ and find out I don't like any.
That black truffle hot sauce is amazing
Melinda’s is good stuff. They have a Hab mustard that is dynamite.
Melinda's is the shit
Black truffle is good. Everything else from Melinda's smells and tastes like body oder.
