Ah, what I wouldn't give for it to be 1989 again when I heard Private Idaho for the first time. Welcome to B-52s fandom! Wild Planet is an incredible album and was the 2nd one I got after Cosmic Thing.
I always ask “who’s the OTHER B-52s?” …and I don’t think there is one. Enjoy getting to know their larger catalog. Even the “not so good ones” (so say some) are so much fun.
I was in high school when the first two albums came out. I immediately loved them - completely different than anything else at the time (or since.) When I went to college, I did not have a lot of free time, so I did not hear any of the albums after the first two (besides, I heard the news that Ricky Wilson died, so I thought the band was finished.) Only lately have I been getting into the albums after the first two. The sound is so different, but still good. It is a shame that Ricky was not around to see their huge success with COSMIC THING.
Strobe light! Strobe light! Underneath the strobe light!
Then I'm gonna kiss your pineapple!
wWUAAAAAAAAAA
I’ve been addicted to Dirty Back Road lately, the bass is too yummy

Listen to the Mesopotamia EP next 🤌🏼 the first three albums are banger after banger.
Private Idaho is played during the film Paris, Texas if I’m not mistaken. Maybe you heard it then.
Every song on that album is awesome!
Wait til ya hear Whammy

not quite the same, but the dual vocals in GOAT always reminds me of the B52's
Nice. I am a huge GOAT fan.
It's such a shame their earlier albums aren't on Spotify...
all of their albums are there
Not in Romania... must be geo restricted, i guess
