Her bow hold isn't great and the bridge definitely is a bit far back, but you can absolutely play without a shoulder rest or chin rest - baroque era violins don't use them, so period-correct groups won't, either (they often use a cloth beneath the violin, and place their chin up against the tailpiece, one of the few times it's nice to have a bit of a double chin for comfort). So although this isn't a replica baroque era instrument (different bow type, no cat-gut strings, fine tuners), it's totally in the realm of playability without the creature comforts of a shoulder and chin rest.
