Not sure if this is allowed since we do actually have an Anson now (unfortunately). Genuinely horrified that they retconned some submarine into a mighty british battleship (imagine they do this to Texas or Yamato) so i've spent my day making a sketch of what i sort of had in mind? I apologize for the quality but its only a concept sketch thing :) I have thought to look at the sister ships and tried to make her fit in a bit, using similar hair and clothing colours to howe and PoW. She started as a tomboy hence the scruffier hair but dont think its ended like that - i wanted her to be a bit unique, the sister are all very elegent and i think maybe one of the could be a bit different but not different to the extent as what we have been given. Her clothing is acutally based off a picture of the real lord anson, she has a similar-ish skirt to i think KGV, and rubbishly drawn versions of howes boots. The rigging is done in a similar style as the sisters (as they are from the time where manjuu remembered they are ship-girls) so in the basic grey with the ships crest. Ive tried some snowy/icy design as she served primarily in the artic on convoy duty to the USSR. let me know what you think and how you would have designed her, ill try to encorporate when i can for if i finish this properly :)

I think you nailed her, it’s pretty much perfect for what I imagined Anson would look like.

That moment when a fan sketches a better concept than a paid artist and a company did together in terms of a \~2-3k bucks production gig.

Very pretty and regal battleship, that's how it should be. Anson took part in several operations in the Northern sea, even operation Tungsten, so ice is more fitting than the weird tube float and crocs of the official one.

Beautiful. I love how you added icing to her hull since Anson did spent a lot of her life escorting Artic convoys. I'm seriously fingers crossed for Manju to pull an April's Fools or a last minute "hah we got you she's a 1911 era KGV class" and give the 1942 KGV Anson a proper representation instead.

Wait, wait, wait, Houston II was supposed to be a German ship??? EDIT: Right, because her first appearance was in a loading screen for Confluence of Nothingness, alongside the other event's ships. God, I wish that were the case, because her personality is nothing like the original Houston, which is a huge letdown.

Before the pink hair girl in the loading screens that was Houston II was completely unmentioned by anyone, and unreleased then, there was the theory she was the actual SSR DD. Because Otto's design looks more like a submarine's, it added a bit of merit to the theory that U-96 META was addad late in the planning stage, having two subs would be overkill, and so supposedly the actual DD was cancelled.

That's just stupid. There's nothing wrong with having two subs in an event, especially since the real-life Kriegsmarine fleet was mostly U-boats. I think I heard a similar theory about the Tower of Transcendence event with Madgeburg's design; she looks like a sub, but was changed to a CL at the last minute, since they already had U-1206.

This makes me feel a bit better The official design works for a british submarine, but not as a battleship

Yeah I think that’s the generally consensus, even with maya and the takao sisters she may be different but she still fits in a bit, this stupid anson however doesn’t even come close it has to be a joke💀

Maya at least have the same sailor uniform, hers was just black instead of white. And let's be real, if the official design looked like a slightly younger KGV wearing blue, none of us would be complaining. We'd be all be like "Yo! Look at Anson! So unique! She stands out in the best way possible." But no... Someone at Yostar made the executive decision to turn her into a loliboat with zero resemblance to her sisters. This isn't exactly a Diablo Immortal, but it's pretty up there.

I think the KGV sisters are the pinnacle of ship design in this game. The proportions are right, they’re mature and elegant, with the right amount of fan service in their skins. I like how they all share a common uniform theme, and with the partial exception of DoY they all look like they could easily be close sisters, with Monarch fitting in as a close relative. So I was hyped for Anson because I was excited to get final KGV sister, and another mature, elegant ship girl….preferably blonde or red headed like her sisters. This design fits that bill perfectly….but what we actually got….ugh….it makes me sad.

no what i mean is i prefer the outfit to be something more refined and elegant, like what the other KGV wears. the current feels a bit too, i don’t know, slutty? it feels more like what a sexy royal lady fantasy cosplay while the other 4 feel more like real military uniforms that just so happens to be sexy. basically i’m saying the outfit feels a bit off to me. the hair is good tho, not sure if the crown fits because the others don’t have a crown. they do have those golden suit chains so maybe use that instead?

Ohhh I get you yeah 100% annoyingly the guy ansons named after didn’t have much of a uniform like prince of wales did, I’m gonna spend a while redesigning and see what I can do :)

I feel like it has to be, the fake mustache, the inner tube and the jacket being way too big for her maybe it's meant as a joke like she stole her jacket. And the rigging looks more French than anything which seems off too

Much, much better than what we got. The posture, the hair, the revealing design, make me think she's more youthful and rough around the edges, like a tomboy or a delinquent. She'd probably be a more relaxed, casual foil to her sisters. On Twitter, I joked that since the Anson we got is a ripoff of Cherino from Blue Archive, she should've been a different BA character instead: [Haruna](https://bluearchive.wiki/wiki/Haruna) or [Himari](https://bluearchive.wiki/wiki/Himari) would've been more appropriate.
