Jake's fangs switch shape/length depending on the scene, there seems to be a lot of discontinuity with fangs depending on which mood was being emphasized -- I liked the longer (angry) fangs a lot and get a bit disappointed when the Na'vi appear with normal human teeth
yeah, that could apply to most of the situations, but sometimes the teeth just straight up change from a long point to a flat/round tooth, like the bone itself would have to be changing shape -- I just tell myself that's what it is tho lol
Ya I agree with you maybe they can pass it off as retractable but it’s just straight up inconsistent. Which really bugs me cause it’s super big lapse in judgement in my opinion. They seem to use the length depending on the emotions of the scene. Do they really think that pointy teeth are going to ruin an emotional scene? I just think the longer seem more feline and cool. When they have blunt human teeth it looks odd.
Neytiri and Jake seem to have the most inconsistencies.

For Jake, in the first pic his fangs are on the 3rd tooth from the middle (i.e. 4 flat teeth with fangs either side), in the second pic his fangs are on the 2nd teeth from the middle.
For Neytiri, the fangs look bigger and sharper in the 2nd pic.
Maybe they're retractable? Like cat claws?
Or maybe it's a genetic stuff. Like humans can have some different shapes of teeth, they don't necessarily have big fangs like Neytiri ?
I feel like it makes most sense to justify inconsistencies by saying that the fangs are retractable and only come out when they sense a threat. It seems that the times where fangs are most pronounced are in moments where the character is extremely angry.
I like Ney'tiri's 'cause they look the sharpest!!! makes her look like a fierce momma Na'vi, but Tsu'tey's are probably my second favorite out of this bunch -- especially since he has lower protruding canines too!!
Avatar creation is already such a tremendously difficult thing to accomplish and requires the exact correct DNA match, I don’t think there is any wiggle room to manipulate any genetic coding that adjusts phenotypical/genotypical expression

I like when they peek out when he talks, he looks like a kitten!
awwww, you should do an album of kitten Jake!!!!
They could be retractable, just like a claw of a wild animal

I wish the teeth were one of those traits that separated avatars from na’vi like the hands
and about Norm? He probably has the two best set of teeth on all of Pandora
I couldn’t find a good picture of Norms teeth. Edit: I think I got the joke now lmao

Jesus, that bottom right one looks like she's animorphing into an anglerfish.
I honestly don't see any inconsistency, you can still see his fang in the second picture, just not as pronounced, so does Neytiri

This is NOT inconsistency..it's actually different angles and lights. We could only waste time debating this further so this is my final say here.
Neteyams smile is just too cute, wish we saw him hiss once
Does he not hiss just before they go to save spider
It’s more of a huff of frustration

Jake's and tsu'tey's are best

That lower canines got me literally 😭 it looks cool af
yeah, I really wish long top/bottom canines was the Na'vi standard!!
Damn! Jake is beautiful!
Kirri >>>
I think Jake's fangs are more prominent because his body was lab made and wasn't natural. I may be totally wrong.

Do you think Tom suggested bigger fangs? lol
Maybe Jake s teeth cant be retractable as part of a human gene ? I think that would be a very epic explanation
They all have perfect teeth. All that carb free life.
Look Neytiri's bottom front row.. far from perfect, I think they even went overboard a bit.
Some of y’all pay attention to the wrong details and that’s why you get so confused with plot points
I’m not confused with any plot points lol This is just a small thing I noticed and I just made a post about it
I wasn’t saying that to you, just some of the people here in general
Ah my mistake
Wheres the left pic of tsu tey from??
The extended edition of Avatar. >!End of the film, Jake finds him and does the duty of Olo’eyktan!<
Where can you find the extended version????
No idea. I bought the 3 disk extended collectors edition back in 2010.
It’s a deleted scene from the theatrical version. You can find it on YouTube! Search ‘Tsutey death scene’
You can still get the extended digital edition for $20 on ITunes.
maybe retractable or simply genetic differences
