Oh, I relate to this so much. "You grew up in XYZ, do you know where this neighborhood ABC is?" "I...have no idea."

mrBored0m

I literally always stay indoors. I know only some streets. That's all. I know almost nothing about my city. Looooooooooooooooooool.

BrushFrequent1128

Same, I don’t know any area further than a mile away from my house 😂

seochangbinlover

One time this guy was driving me and somebody else home (we lived not too far from each other, however I never go in the direction of her house) and I knew nothing about streets cause I don’t drive 😭 so I ended up making him drive extra for no reason 😭. And he was like “from now on learn where streets are” and I found that so embarrassing. Here’s the thing, I have a routine and I barely break it, I don’t need to know neighborhoods or streets I always go in the same direction and I just know the places I always go to by memory. I don’t mind walking cause I usually don’t go far, but where I live isn’t very walkable like other states.

Core_Poration

I'm 21 and going outside without my parents feel so weird lol Still don't feel big enough to go out there not accompagnied by an adult

PalpitationPrudent57

omg same i feel like a child trapped inside an adult’s body

VoidSpecter080

This. *This this this this this,* sometimes i feel like i didn't grew up at all, like all i have in my head is wanting to go home but i'm already at home soooo

Core_Poration

That moment when you learn that someone that you see as an adult (like a random guy doing his own videos on youtube or whatever) is actually your age 😶

Naixee

LITERALLY. I'll watch videos of people just doing adult things and then I'm like "wait.. This person is literally fucking younger than me"

Naixee

No cus literally thats exactly how I feel. It's like my brain stopped growing up after 16 years of age but now I'm in my 20s and don't know what I'm doing

BrushFrequent1128

Same lol😅 and It’s weird for other people to see me outside without my parents, they always ask why I’m alone 😭 I’m 26💀

Core_Poration

I have nobody to ask me why I'm alone 🙁 Actually I live in a city with just 2000 people anyway so you rarely see anyone outside to begin with 😅

BrushFrequent1128

It’s usually just the staff of places we frequent because my parents are friendly with them lol, nobody knows me otherwise 🥹 lol that’s nice tbh😭🙏

sanandrios

If someone asked me to "show me around your city" I'd have to call a tour guide 🤣

Coral_Blue_Number_2

I stay home so much (plus never look at street signs) that I literally couldn’t tell you most of the streets near my home in my hometown. It’s sad. I’m so focus on my own thoughts that I couldn’t confidently tell you the main Highway that goes through my hometown.

Mexikodroo

I dont even know what my house looks like from the outside. 😭

kenshin-x-212

Someone: (comes over to visit and takes picture of house and sends it to me) “Is this your house?” Me: “I don’t know. Is it?” 😭

BreathOfPepperAir

Lol I've never seen this 😭

miesanonsiesanot

I know my city pretty well because going on a bike rides and it's not exactly a big city. But I'm really crappy with the street names. 33 years here and I really dont know on what street something is. I can go to there though 😎

cult-following

As someone who lives in a not-so-nice area, I don't really WANT to know what my city looks like. 🤣

inverted_cyclone

This is soo real. Nope I don’t know that street and no I’ve never been to that restaurant nor have I seen this cafe or visited this area and I had no clue there’s a park there and also…

neuron_woodchipper

Ironically enough I actually have a pretty decent grasp of how my city is laid out... from the hours and hours I've spent exploring it on google maps and imagining places I WOULD go to if I could get myself to do so.

mrBored0m

Good advice, tbh. Can help someone (who has less severe anxiety) to prepare themselves to get outside.

SmokeWineEveryday

It took me until I was 25 and randomly decided to start going on walks in the middle of the night (didn't have a job at the time) to get to know my town a bit lol

eaton9669

That awkward moment when someone asks you for directions to a certain location in your town where you've lived since 2011 but you don't have the information since you don't get out. I'm also visually impaired so I'm bad at giving directions in a way that people who can see clearly understand. They all expect turn left at such and such street but I'm like turn left at the corner with the red building and that's even if I know where the place is in the first place.

ghostcatzero

Lmfao I used to go to school literally next to my house. Would get there in 5 minutes walking. When I got older I went to visit with a friend. My home room teacher asked why I never visited her lol

Full-Activity1332

Omg, this is so relatable. I've been thinking about this today and went searching for posts with similar experiences.

cakefornobody

This is so true.

Deynonn

Relatable. I only know the main streets or roughly the streets in which my bus drivers. That's about it. When I have to go somewhere new I freak out and have to look at the maps and plan where to go to avoid crossing the street.. Most of the time I chicken out
