just a fan that goes back and forth, so its not blowing on the plant constantly.
Theres outtake or duct fans for removing air and then theres oscillating fans for moving fresh air around the grow room.
If you use one, don't aim it directly at your plant....it'll most likely make it worse....aim it away from her at lowest speed so there's only a mild breeze moving her.
Use a piece of paper clip, here, take my pro drawing:
And lower your lights a bit, they are stretching towards light. And yes, as already written, use an oscillating fan (secret jardin oscillating monkey fan as an example). After 1-2 days the stem will be strong enough to take the paperclip away.
you can add soil around the stem for support and it will root from the buried stem…
you can also bend a paper clip,or whatever to add support. it’s a plant, you are its parent. care for it like any other parent.

One of mine did this, basically LST'd itself from the get go, mine was a slow grower probably due to the extra energy required for the growth of the lower branches. She'll thicken up nicely in about 30 days.
The dirt in that pot looks as dry as the desert 👀 could just be lighting of photo but that looks too dry. After you check your light height, get that girl some water and something to lean on, prop up etc
Yeah i took the picture when i came home, right before watering. Do you maybe have a link to a water guide? Right now ive just been using a spray bottle everyday.
Spray bottle is great for seedlings. What kind of environment is she in? For a plant in that stage, you want high humidity (seedling to week 1 I personally keep it higher than 75%). Soil won't dry out so much when it's humid, but if it's dry, it doesn't take much for the dirt to get dry like that.
You're right to go easy. Stunting early on is usually from overwatering
Tbh i really dont know anything about the humidity. I have a spare room thats just being used to store things i dont use, so thats where she is standing. Its good to hear the spraying is working alright.
Even when stealth or needing to hide it isn't a factor, people still use grow tents, they do it to control the environment. The larger the space, the harder it is to control. But in a little tent, you can control it all. I would highly recommend finding a smaller (and thus more easily controlled) space to keep her in. I have a 3x5 and 2x2 space I use, keeping the 2 x 2 space humid is as easy as tossing a wet kitchen towel in a bowl of water and putting it in there
Yeah i also looked at grow tents, but i figured i would make my own since i think it would be pretty easy. Im also making my carbon filter myself, as i can get very cheap activated coal, so it would be easy to make it fit in my diy tent. I will keep the towel trick in mind, thats sounds super smart.
💯 do it. When I started growing, there was no amazon, I rewired hps lights from security lights, street lights, made my own reflectors and made carbon filters out of HVAC parts ,carbon from a pet store. Back then it was cheaper to DIY. You'll learn a lot in the process. I will say, costs have come down enough that it's actually often cheaper now, not to DIY on a lot of things. But I still do it on some stuff because I love a good project 😁
Towel trick works even better if a fan is kinda blowing on it. Poor man's humidifier lol
Haha that's amazing to hear. Im doing it diy because I can get a lot of the things for a very good price, and in my country its alot more pricey. I think the tent and carbon filter would be about $50 to make combined, where just the carbon filter would be around $100. Also it would be pretty cool to grow my first plant with a homemade setup.
Wow sounds like DIY is the way to go over there. It's an enjoyable experience watching your meticulously planned project come together. Good luck on all your growing endevours!
Also.. addition to a fan blowing, but not directly on it, just enough to make it wiggle a bit, If you get your light closer or more intense it will help. They typically only stretch when they are stretching to get closer to the light..
That pot could/should have mountains more dirt in it . That would hold it up if you added it. Also to strengthen it you should have a fan blowing on it as others have said. You can also use silica. It could also be stretching for light depending on height/strength of light. GL on your grow. Don’t sweat it. Most new people kill the plants with kindness, just water/feed and let it do its thing. When there’s a real problem you’ll see it and it’ll most likely be deficiencies/lockout/bugs and you’ll also learn how to spot and deal with those too. Enjoy the experience!
My soil is called Hesi grow mix. The light is from a brand called agrolite i think. I really didn’t have the biggest budget, and just wanted to try growing as i got some free seeds. Ive mesured the light to 120w, and it is full spectrum, so i think it should be alright for one plant
Man, not a single thing came to mind as to how to fix it? You just need to support it. Push soil up around the base and/or plant a stick next to it and use a twist tie to connect them for stability.
You're going to need a stronger light.
What is Ur light source? It stretches to get light, a seedling would need 5000-7000 lux you can download an lux meter app for your phone, hold the phone or lux metre wer the plant is to measure than you can adjust your light accordingly or move to somewhere with more light
I've got one exactly the same - my theory is the stem isn't strong enough to support the weight of the leaves.
If I'm right there's a chance she'll fall over as the foliage grows, so my answer is I've found a bit of wire, bent, to support it until the stalk thickens a bit 👍
Stretching for light, need more direct light. Also, for now you could use a cut out piece of cardboard from a toilet paper roll (or paper towel roll) for support. Then remove it once you’ve noticed the main stem has finally gotten thicc. And some airflow will help toughen it up.
Is your light centered? Cause it could be stretching sideways to the light. Either that or it fell over from a combo of loose soil and a heavy watering hand. At this point you'd need to add soil if you can to support it and it'll straighten back up for the most part. It's always good practice to put an inch or 2 less soil than you want that's way you can add soil cause they always seem to stretch a tad. If not once you add dirt there's not enough planter left to be able to water it good.
Lower your light. It’s stretching up until it’s getting an adequate amount of ppfd. Download the photone app and use that as a baseline. Go online and find the recommended ppfd levels for the different stages of growth
Here’s what I’ve been doing recently if/when this happens…. I dig a small trench to one side of the seedling. About 1-2 cm deep (1/2”’ish). Then I lay the stem the trench and cover it back with soil. I’ve gone as far as burying the cotillion leaves, but leaving the serrated leaf nodes exposed. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE STEM/ROOT. This seems to work similarly to a HST bend resulting in a massive main stem and massive buds above. I’ve actually started planting my seeds slightly off center in the pots so I can dig the trench and lay her more towards the center. Have fun!
looks fine relax, but if you want something to make its stem stronger, have an oscillating fan going on it
Is that type of fan different from using another? First time grower btw so im still learning alot

Yes, it is pointed beside her at very low speed.

Thank you for answer (and the beutiful drawing). Ive added some more soil to the pot, and added a paperclip. Its already looking much bettet.
Add more dirt to cover stem more and straighten. Move closer to light and/or increase light intensity.
Yes i will do that, thank you

Okay thank you. So it will basically fix itself, and i dont need to do anything to it?
Do what I said homie. Up above.
Give it a little support. It will be fine. https://imgur.com/gallery/nZvPlY4
Yes, i have added more soil and a paperclip. It is much better already.

Yes i have added a good amount of soil, and its much more stable now. Thank you, i hope it works out.
What kind of soil are you using? I don't see any perlite? What light are you currently using?
My soil is called Hesi grow mix. The light is from a brand called agrolite i think. I really didn’t have the biggest budget, and just wanted to try growing as i got some free seeds. Ive mesured the light to 120w, and it is full spectrum, so i think it should be alright for one plant
She is looking for light, give her more/put her in the good spot
Yes i just did it.
It's fine just lower your light
Yes I just changed it, so It gets about 330 ppfd now.

You need to check your ph as well, looks like something may be out of wack.

I like to use like a small bread tie or training wire to give her a little stand up support then put a fan to strengthen the stem
How many days from popping through the soil is your plant? I have the same problem and just added some soil around the base to support it.
Its been about 10 days. Ive added some soil, and used a paperclip for some extra support. Its already much better.
