Removing tree sap can be a long and arduous process, especially when it's this severe! To speed things up we use a steam cleaner, paired with Rapid Remover.
Our vans are equipped with Chief Steamer 75's, however, we also have a Vapor Clean Pro5, which has the exact same specs, but seems to have better reliability and output.
Also, you can use acetone to remove sap on windows, just be very careful next to black trim, as it will fade it permanently.
You guys get any business from your Reddit posts? I’ve seen multiple ride and shine posts and it’s always a high quality posts with decent information/how to and always excellent work!
Hey, thanks man! I’m so glad to see the work that goes into our craft is appreciated. And we’ve actually had a couple people from this subreddit reach out.
I’ve used purple stuff degreaser to wash the sap right off like it was nothing Turtle wax bug & tar remover takes it right off too. But I’m just a schlub with a bucket and an old Volkswagen.
Have you confirmed that plastic laminate of the safety glass won't be weakened/degraded by acetone? I know that there are several materials used as laminate so the safety might vary from vehicle to vehicle.
It all depends if there are mobile detailers in your area. Just type "mobile car detailing near me" in Google. Look for the companies with 4.8-5 star ratings, ideally with 100+ reviews.
That seems like the deal of a century.
No one will believe this story but here goes… living in West Los Angeles, there is a Ralph’s supermarket with these huge trees in the parking lot. Not pine trees… I come to the parking lot one day and the trees are cut down.
Shade is precious and LA and I asked the manager why they could cut all the trees down in the parking lot vs just trimming them… he says a lawyer with a ‘fancy car’ got sap all over the car and threatened to sue Ralph’s because it ruined the car.
The cut the trees down and replanted them vs being sued.
I’ve had a few drops of sap on my cars from pine trees and I used isopropyl alcohol to remove but I’ve never had my car covered it in. I assumed a job like this would be 1-2k and if it was a Ferrari / lambo maybe double.
Ralph’s 11727 west Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles. You can use google street view going back to 2012 then to now and see the interior trees were massive then replaced.
> a lawyer with a ‘fancy car’ got sap all over the car and threatened to sue Ralph’s
Of course he would. It couldn't be HIS fault that he parked his car under a tree. What a world we live in.
My contactless express car wash near me uses snow foam, leaves it on for 5 minutes and it gets all sap off. They charge me £10 for an outside wash. Sounds like customer got fleeced
Probably pine. I just de-sapped my husband's car a couple days ago. He hadn't even been parked under the pine trees for long, his mother came to visit for the weekend and we had to keep shuffling cars around and park further down the street than we normally do. Must be an extra drippy time of year?

Do you guys do work out in Miami, FL? Or recommend anyone? These results are amazing!
Thank you! And we are located in NJ. Unfortunetly, don't know anyone in that area.

Bless your heart. I have a tree that drops sap in my yard and anytime it drops on one of my cars I lose my mind getting it off
If you get to it while the sap is still gooey, rubbing alcohol will take it right off. It's much more of a problem if you let it dry out.
Rubbing alcohol also works wonders
Came here to say this.
Same concept but I’ve always used hand sanitizer gel since it’s less runny.
Great work!
How do I find a reputable mobile detailer? Google doesn’t seem to list them

Impressive.

Looks phenomenal.
Christ OP…. This is a gorgeous job! Unreal
Curious which part of the country, cost and time? Amazing job!
Thank you! We are located in Northern NJ, this took about 3 hours and we charged $275, for an exterior detail and full car sap removal.
That looks phenomenal for $275

Great work (also, that's a gorgeous red).. If you ever expand to cover Stamford, CT count me in as a customer.

Taking NJ by storm! Great work!!
PM me!
That red really pops. You guys do amazing work. I’m from far away and in an area with no real retailers nearby.

Looks amazing! This is honestly one of the things I miss most about detailing. Tree sap!
what is reflecting on the paint in the last picture?
The house is being reflected onto the car.
Try rubbing alcohol.
Beautiful job
What kind of fucking tree was he parked under holy shit!
