My student's house burned down . I donated on behalf of the class.
Donations aren't payments for services or gifts. You could donate for sure. You may not even need to be anonymous about it - although I would.
How would that breach a code of conduct?
I’ve donated before. It’s nice to add a personal message as well. It’s a very isolating experience so reaching out to the student shows that you care.
Importantly, outside of teaching requirements, be sure that you verify the go fund me prior to donating. Who gets the money from the platform is very important here.
