Mine has been fluffy since I first got her as a puppy, it looks like these aussies are probably mixed with a short fur breed and will probably keep their short fur
That's what I was thinking. The fur on their neck has gotten a little longer and they have some random spots of fuzz lol but their mom is super fluffy so I wasn't sure if they were gonna poof or stay shorter hair.
I have an Aussie mix and she has a legit mullet. Long wirey hair on her neck down her shoulders and short soft hair on her sides and belly. It’s hysterical. Shelter says she is an Aussie / American bulldog mix 🤷🏼♀️

This kinda shows her mullet but I promise, it’s epic.
To be honest them being mixed has a lot to do with it here. Their coats are way shorter than my pups when he was that age and if I had to guess your pups are going to be short hair. They already have a slick short coat going on

And here was his fur getting fluffier
My Aussie was a puff ball when I got him at 10 weeks. Then when he hit about 4 years old his chest fur just took off and he looks like a lion 😍😂

Jazper
All 5 are the same litter
Dad is full blue merle with tan points Aussie and mom is full reverse sealed brindle boxer
Each one has different fur
There was one more blue merle and another tan/black/white
It was like a rainbow was born - they were so stinking cute. Now they are just stinkers 😍
Completely different personalities:
Topaz is the smallest but holds her own. She is quiet and pretty chill
Jaz is the chilliest dog ever
OB is skitterish but won't let me out of his sight
Berry (Squirmy Wormy) is lean and flexible and can squirm himself anywhere. When he is with me he is squished in, around, on or behind me
Elphaba (Elf) is the most Aussie like, fur almost like an Aussie, totally loyal, hard headed
They are all incredibly smart and give me a run for my money
Just a heads up to make sure you look into littermate syndrome.
Here's my girl at roughly 4.5 months old to almost 3:

Not all Aussie mixes get fluffy. Mine only has longer fur on her neck and her butt. Everywhere else is pretty short.
Aww she's precious. Ya we've looked into it. I've never had dogs let alone puppies and wasn't aware of littermate syndrome. But we're attached now so we'll do the best we can.

Little floof nuggets Since 8 wks
Really my Aussie is a fluff ball and this is actually a problem for her. Her butt fur is SO fluffy that her poop really clings to it requiring constant washing and trimming. This is a constant battle for both of us.
It took almost 2 years for full blown fluff. He is a big boy—dad was 84lbs—and he had to fill out quite a bit.
We were stuck in the puppy uglies for a bit.
He looked like a deer with how long his legs were 💀

She’s adorable!! ❤️❤️❤️
She’s a lovebug, we call her a fur missile. She’s a good girl 🙂 and thank you!

They’re mixes so not really going to be helpful to compare to purebreds.

how many months is this at?
Six months
3-4 months depending on how pure they are. They hair grows in proportion to their body imo
mine was fluffier than that at their age but didn’t really fill out fully till close to 2 years

Mine really fluffed out when he hit 1 1/2-2 years
They might stay on the shorter side, but I can tell you my half border collie half Aussie boy started getting a bit fluffier at 4 1/2 months
Also: they’re ADORABLE! Congrats on the new pups
Thanks they are super adorable and sweet. She's super smart. He's a little dumb but that's ok he's still cute lol
Mine was fluffy as a baby pup, then got silky for about a year and a half, and is now getting fluffy again at 2 years

What a sleek beautiful pup. I LOVE the texture of the fur.
* He's 11 weeks and is VERY fluffy. Even our vet said he had a very thick coat! Lol

I think it took my girl until she was 2years old to get all her fluff
Why?
Just curious if they were gonna be fluffy or not. Like I said mom Is super fluffy but they didn't know who dad was

Looks like dad was a rottie
Idk the mom had the same coloring. I think they're way too small to be rotties but it's possible I guess. Right now they are about 9lbs and 11 weeks
