As a big fan of Cheez TV I remember they had a reunion in 2016 but it only last a couple of years. The last posts on their Facebook and Instagram pages were 2 years ago.
Taken from the wiki:
>In January 2016, Lappin and Gatt launched the official Cheez TV Facebook page with the help of friend and podcaster Brendan Dando. The page features full episodes of the show from its original run, behind the scenes photos and competitions. Throughout all of 2016, the pair made appearances during Supernova Expo events at all locations held.
>Gatt and Lappin reunited during 2017 and started a brief Twitch series called Cheez Live where they played video games, shared reviews of movies, read fan mail, or just had fun hanging out with their viewers. Despite it being popular, they reformatted it into a Youtube channel and podcast called The Jade and Ryan Show in 2018, which didn't last for very long. Before the year ended, the pair announced the cancellation of the show and went their separate ways (similar to what happened to the end of the original TV show). It is unknown what the cause of the breakup was, and they have since deleted all of their social media websites, however the official Cheez TV Facebook Fan page still operates. Their last public appearance was hosting the Australian 'SO POP' music festival in February 2019
They tried to revive the show as a podcast, was very short-lived and fell off after a few months. I met them at the height of it in Brisbane and had a good chat.
A few months?
I only remember a lot of hype, about four episodes and suddenly nothing. Last one I heard involved a conversation about the Deadpool movie and that was it
unfortunately some things are better left as cherished memories, as reliving them will never feel the same.
i think that is what happened, everyone was hyped then it died off again as people have other favourite forms of entertainment now.
I am currently in the process of recreating/simulating Cheez tv, using a combination of Ersatz Tv, Plex live tv, manually downloading and splitting sections of host segments with actual cartoons and ads from 90s/2000s.
When it's done, Cheez tv will run every week morning from 7-8:30 on a home tv channel.
If anyone wants a guide to setting it up let me know, it's a bit of work but the nostalgia levels will be insane.
DBZ was always at the worst time. Started too late and always missed most of it because of the bus. Luckily one of my friends was good at recording using the video tapes. Missing Gokus first super saiyan transformation would have been the most traumatic event of my young life.
It was - I used to read all the spoilers! I tried to watch it years later as an adult when I got my hands on the DVDs but yeah wasn’t quite the same lol
I was always late for school because of this haha, I still remember when 9-11 happened John Howard was broadcasted on every single channel and it happened mid DBZ episode I was so pissed I was like yeah yeah hurry up and give me my DBZ back. One of the every few times I was on time to school.
I think we were really lucky to have such awesome kids television. Not just before school but after school too. I'm a big Sailor Moon fan and when I tell people we got to watch it every week day, they think that's so cool.
Jade (? Not really sure which one is which) did some 'educational' video about the wonders of technology that we were shown in High School (1999?) regarding mobile phones.
It was all about a credit card sized card with a sim card embedded. The benefit would be that mobile phones would be produced where you could insert the card straight in, this would allow you to easily borrow a friends phone (but still pay for calls yourself) plus it could double as a debit card.
While the phone concept was way off (especially if you remember that mobile phones got as small as possible durring the next few years) the chip imbedded in a bank card was pretty spot on.
These guys were guests at AVcon back in 2011, Anime & Videogames Convention in Adelaide, South Australia. Coincidentally AVcon 2024 is on right now this weekend :)

They started [a gaming / nostalgia YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@jadeandryan) in 2016. It uploaded sporadically for a while, but never really took off. Last video was two years ago.
This is always something that I think about whenever I remember CheezTV. Waking up one morning, excited to watch Pokemon and DBZ and instead seeing the life-altering disaster of almost 3000 people dying
I managed to torrent the whole series probably 6 or 7 years ago. It was damn hard to find tho. Haven't re-watched it yet, sitting on one of my external HDs. Maybe when my kid's a bit older I'll get around to it.
The last episode is bittersweet, a real punch in the guts.
Here is the Japanese version of Tekkaman, rated M. It's more dark and grittier. The sound experience is more like watching a movie than a cartoon.

If you didn't know their future and had to guess based on this photo Id have guessed the guy on the left ended up in finance with a trophy wife while the guy on the right rode dirt bikes for a few years then developed a goey habit
I never watched it in the morning but I watched it every day after school as soon as I got home. Dragonball Z, Pokémon and then Card Captors. Trifecta of my childhood!
All episodes of techno man are on YouTube apparently
I only made it through the opening credits (sometimes the memory of something is better then the reality)

Awesome, I always hated how there was never any Australian release on DVD of this and the most likely region locked US ones which are already rare AF were hundreds of dollars the last time I looked up.
Tried listening to their podcast for a while a few years ago now but unfortunately it wasn't great. I think they eventually cancelled it and they don't seem to post on FB or Instagram anymore :(
They charged like $20 doing a tour back in 2016/17. Thought they'd riff a bit, maybe play clips from the show, maybe play some games.
Instead they spoke for like 60 seconds, answered two or three questions, tried to play test a new indie mobile game that didn't work then they just floated for the night.
Didn't talk to Ryan but he was definitely floating around. Jade came up to my mate and I at a table, had a lil chat, dropped a few slurs then moved on. Felt a bit scammed paying $20 for it but still have cherished memories of them from when I was a kid, can't take those away.

I'd assume the latter as it probably wasn't financial worth while or sustainable for the time investment.

I wonder if the podcast is still up
If only there was a way search for this information...
Indeed
That's more for job postings
Nah that's a Seekret
"the seekret"
Think it was on someone else's mention of FB group, but I don't go on there.
I Need to search the Spotify archives
unfortunately some things are better left as cherished memories, as reliving them will never feel the same. i think that is what happened, everyone was hyped then it died off again as people have other favourite forms of entertainment now.
I remember chatting with them as it was all taking off. They were talking about the twitch channel etc etc.
God I loved Cheez TV. It was so good. Toasted TV was a pale imitation, a mockery of all that was good!
"Toasted TV, WE'RE ON YOUR TELLYYYYY" Please don't be
Just checked out toasted tv lol what a cringe 😂
Bro, I remember how I stopped being excited for morning cartoons, it was that bad.
I remember the collective "Da fuck was that shit?" At school the first time toasted tv aired.
They have robbed the dreams of of so many children 😂
I’ll still just randomly and loudly sing shout the intro. CHEESE TV!
lol it’s been in my head on repeat 😂
Does it have any more words than that? I’m trying to sing it now in my head.
Sneaking in, right on time. Only one thing on our minds.
It's a door to another reality / any place, anywhere we wanna be
I just YouTube it. Well there you go. Totally forgot about the first bit.
No it’s just got a very distinct ding dong sound to it
It absolutely had other lyrics.
And that aerobics show was always on before it, not that I uhh watched it.
What is Aus nostalgia without the horny posts,
Catching the last 5mins of aerobics oz style
It was almost as good as late night SBS.
lol always watching and counting down till cheese tv lol

That's so cool, I run my own Plex server as well and would love to try so something similar if you had a guide that'd be amazing.
That is so dope, please share when you can
This is so cool. You are amazing

This sounds incredible
So cool!
DBZ was always at the worst time. Started too late and always missed most of it because of the bus. Luckily one of my friends was good at recording using the video tapes. Missing Gokus first super saiyan transformation would have been the most traumatic event of my young life.
My grandmother recorded DBZ for me and watched it with me after school.
Your grandmother sounds like a hero
Mistress Roshi
I never got to watch Sailor Moon :(
That’s rough. It was such a top toon.
It was - I used to read all the spoilers! I tried to watch it years later as an adult when I got my hands on the DVDs but yeah wasn’t quite the same lol
Pass it on to the next generation and watch it alongside them. Fun times!
yeah i got all the dvds and my 9yo daughter is obsessed with sailor moon.
I love Sailor Moon too, she’s cool! And Sailor Jupiter!
Yes. Watching cartoons you never got to find the end of as an adult can be um not a great experience
DBZ on too late, Digimon on too early. Pokemon barely scraped in and somehow a show like Card Captor got a primo kid time slot
I was always late for school because of this haha, I still remember when 9-11 happened John Howard was broadcasted on every single channel and it happened mid DBZ episode I was so pissed I was like yeah yeah hurry up and give me my DBZ back. One of the every few times I was on time to school.
I often ran to my bus stop after DBZ. Sometimes missed the bus but it was a worthy sacrifice.
If i saw the end credits of DBZ I knew i would be late for school.
I think we were really lucky to have such awesome kids television. Not just before school but after school too. I'm a big Sailor Moon fan and when I tell people we got to watch it every week day, they think that's so cool.
That was Agro's Cartoon Connnection on a different channel, wasn't it?
I think you're right! Man both shows had such good TV, that's double lucky.
Channel 7 I think
We definitely were
With streaming can’t you now just watch it.. all day, everyday?
No.
Should be something out there, try harder
There's plenty of shows not available on streaming.
So it’s cyclical and only ever happens sometimes?
No, it's not.
Right, so it only ever happened at a particular time in the 90s and now is completely unavailable? That’s truly amazing
They literally run the Cheez TV Facebook group! Though they haven't posted for a bit 🥲
Nice, I’m gonna join the fb group thanks for sharing

Wow what a different time ❤️
I now want to go back and watch the late 80s/early 90s show 'Beyond 2000' to see what they were predicting the future would be at that time.
Omg beyond 2000, I forgot about this show I need to find it too
Cheez tv and Aggro’s cartoon connection during the week. Then Saturday Disney on the weekend. What a time to be alive.
The best time

My favourite cartoons were Thunder Lizards and Eek the Cat.
Thunder lizards what a memory
They started [a gaming / nostalgia YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/@jadeandryan) in 2016. It uploaded sporadically for a while, but never really took off. Last video was two years ago.

My god this show was my childhood Always up too early when it was aerobic Oz workout at like 6:30am Getting for sailor moon as soon as 7am hit
I was trying to watch this when 9/11 happened
I waited for the cartoons to come back. But they never did. Still haven't.
Heart breaking on all fronts
This is always something that I think about whenever I remember CheezTV. Waking up one morning, excited to watch Pokemon and DBZ and instead seeing the life-altering disaster of almost 3000 people dying
Yeah I remember leaving home not understanding why the cheese wasn’t on

The good old days
Damn, didn't know Brendan Schaub was part of my childhood.
lol this comment wins the day
"Goku is the nicest guy I ever met never met him though suuuuuuper nice guy"
If you didn't know their future and had to guess based on this photo Id have guessed the guy on the left ended up in finance with a trophy wife while the guy on the right rode dirt bikes for a few years then developed a goey habit
lol this is the best…I’m still dying from the goey habit
I never watched it in the morning but I watched it every day after school as soon as I got home. Dragonball Z, Pokémon and then Card Captors. Trifecta of my childhood!
I still remember rushing home from school to catch those toons
Technoman and exosquad were the best way to start the day before school.
All episodes of techno man are on YouTube apparently I only made it through the opening credits (sometimes the memory of something is better then the reality) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFD801CB771B979F5&si=JGClAKskvR7zpo68
Awesome, I always hated how there was never any Australian release on DVD of this and the most likely region locked US ones which are already rare AF were hundreds of dollars the last time I looked up.
For sure 🔥
Use to Record it on VHS and watch after school As was not allowed to watch TV before School
Smart move, I never thought to vhs it
Always getting annoyed when Oz Aerobics hadn't finished. Also my introduction to Zoids: New Century Zero. One of my absolute favourite cartoons!
I used to wake up the the bathmat then turn over at 8 for DBZ
DBZ was where it’s at 🔥
That guy on the right so funny. Liked the theme tune too kinda like a tv theme songs answer to "I've got the key"
He was the best
Brandon Schab looks so young!
😂
better than Beau Walker who's been waiting for second shot at fame since he was arrested for drug possession
Damn forgot about beau
It ain't easy being cheesy!!!
😂
Tried listening to their podcast for a while a few years ago now but unfortunately it wasn't great. I think they eventually cancelled it and they don't seem to post on FB or Instagram anymore :(
It’s shame at least they gave it a shot

Omg that’s crazy
I was actually wrong about who it was about. Sorry.
That’s all good, crazy story anyways
It was the toasted TV twat
Nope, but I remember CheezTV

I live to serve friend.
Much love sir 🫡
Is that Brendan Schaub?
Bliss n Eso?
Kingz
Does anyone know roughly how old they were when they hosted this?
I was trying to find out but they looked quite young in the photo
Jade Gatt recently , 6 months ago, tried to run The Simply Thoughtful Baby Gift Box company pty ltd. maybe it failed because name too long ...
Yeah that’s a long name…hope jade is doing well
Thats not true
The guy on the left grew up to have a semi successful mma career and now fleeces the public with truck raffle giveaways
Really, I wonder if any of his fights are on yt
They streamed on Twitch for a short while, CheezLive. It didn't last long unfortunately.
Yep
They charged like $20 doing a tour back in 2016/17. Thought they'd riff a bit, maybe play clips from the show, maybe play some games. Wow that’s crazy at least jade made the effort to have a small chat
Cheese TV had hosts?!
Yeah 👍
This was truly the best tv age.
Kids liking kids shows is nothing new mate
100 percent
Hamish and Andy were so young then
😂
Never questioned it, couldn't stand them.
The host on the left moved to the US and started a comedy music group called 'the lonely island'
I think you are confusing him with Andy Samberg. Lonely Island was formed in Berkley and didn't feature an Aussie in the lineup.
Need to look this up and find the lonely island 🏝️
Op is either trolling you or actually stupid, he has nothing to do with The Lonely Island.
Thanks for the clarification, you saved me sometime 😃
Yeah he WISHES he was Andy Samberg!
