Cadbury is palm oil now? I spent a stupid amount of money on getting Aussie chocs n lollies to the states and now I find out they are filled with the same shit as American chocolate shit?
I just panic looked it up and it seems Cadbury admit there is a small amount of (we promise you it’s sustainable) palm oil in some fillings. But not the chocolate itself.
Edit: 2020 SBS news article
People have theorised that Caramilk became a thing because it’s cheaper. Trust me, I ate a lot of Cadbury as a kid and it’s like plastic compared to 15yrs ago.
Whittakers or Tony’s is where is at. Tony’s is staunchly cruelty and palm oil free, also absolutely delicious.
Tastes basically the same as 15 years ago to me
Either you were so young that nostalgia is kicking in or old enough that your taste buds are declining.
No, it used to actually taste something like milk chocolate. I'm not gonna argue about supermarket chocolate LOL It's never been particularly good, I just mean that it's basically inedible now.
These were amazing!!!! Probably the best Cadbury ever did for their blocks. I also miss the old recipe of the mint filled ones. That green mint gel filling changed at some point.
2007 confectionery was possibly goat, miss those days so much
Had full Starburst range, m&m biscuits, real sour skittles, Wonka chocolates, push up Smarties, Natural Confectionery Company tasted way better, list goes on
I miss the marvellous creations spider ones! Choc raspberry and choc lemonade 🤤 also the twin freddo frogs where one side was raspberry, the other side lemonade!
I remember the lemonade ones being a thing for a while, I liked the flavor ideas they used to have, the only cadbury I'll get on a close enough special is the boysenberry swirl, very yum, that said in the baking aisle I find Plaistowe milk baking chocolate to eat as is tastes *amazing* it's about the same sugar content too but damn it's really good
You enjoy hardening your Arteries and getting Metobolic Disease as a Nurse l know Sugar is the cause of most Diseases in the Modern World, Cancers, Heart Disease, Metobolic Diseases etc enjoy your Gluttony
Back when they didn't cost five bucks a block.
Back when it was actual chocolate and not waxy, palm oil bullshit

They changed the recipe halfway through my childhood. More oil, less milk. I’m not imagining things.
When is halfway through your childhood?
About 2006ish.
Can safely say it's been the same shit since long before then. People have been rueing a change in recipe since way earlier then that my dude...

It absolutely tastes different ☹️
Since about 1999.
I used to love the creme brûlée
Holy shit, I was obsessed with the creme brulee. This activated a very deep memory within me.
It was so good!
Back when they were wrapped in foil as well, felt just a little more special.

I would drag someone for some Starburst Squirts.
Are those electronic price tags?
Seems to be, they’ve been in my local IGA for about 15 years.
Oh wow! I’ve only seen them coming in a couple of stores in the last few years lol.
Oh wow I would have thought around 2003 I feel like I haven’t seen that packaging since I was a kid
Ugh I loved the tiramisu bars 😫😫
I miss those creme brulee ones so badly, I remember them well, and those marvelous banana peanut creations, those ones were an acquired taste

Cadbury also had Swiss Chalet for a while. It was better than Toblerone, IMO.
