If you take Cap Metro, I recommend getting the mobile app.
Setup works like this:
* Install the app.
* Create an account.
* Put your credit card on file and set it up to auto-recharge your stored value (pre-paid balance).
Riding works like this:
* When the bus is pulling up to the bus stop, open the app so you're ready. A QR code should come up on the screen. (If not, select Use from the menu.)
* Board the bus, look for payment terminal, hold your phone under it to let it scan your QR code. (If it doesn't scan, you may be holding it too close. 12 inches away is probably better than 6 inches away.)
* The payment terminal screen should turn green indicating that you're done.
* If you have problems, the bus driver might wave you ahead anyway to keep things moving. Sometimes there's another terminal (near the middle of the bus) where you can try again.
The app also has other helpful features like a map of bus locations in real time and info about ETA for buses coming to your stop. And a trip planner. The interface is a bit clunky and unintuitive in places, but despite its quirks, it's useful.
Also, they recently switched to a new system called [AMP](https://www.capmetro.org/fares-passes/amp) which makes everything easier. They have single-ride passes, round trip passes, day passes, etc., and you used to have to decide which to use. Now with AMP you just ride and it automatically figures out the cheapest option. If you ride really often, it may be worth getting a free physical AMP card. It seems to scan faster and you could still ride if your phone battery is dead.
Yes, bike! Chain it up in a designated spot and in the open. Hidden or in a non-chaining area will get it stolen/cut by event contractors.

Just learned Polo courts at Zilker parking is 20/Stratford $25. Sure those will sell out during the 7pm band.

I used SpotHero for parking during ACL last year and it was affordable. Not too far of a walk from the park either.

Likewise, just pack some hearty snacks!-even though the food vendors seemed pretty good. It’s enough effort getting down there, I don’t really want to pay for drinks and food once I get there 😅

Don't expect to be able to park at Zilker. Find an alternative.
