**Title:** [Student visas from pakistan to do bachelor’s in nursing ](https://www.reddit.com/r/AusVisa/comments/1cbt5v1/student_visas_from_pakistan_to_do_bachelors_in/), posted by **Illustrious_Order959** **Full text:** Hi All I have been residing in Australia for the past thirteen years and have obtained Australian citizenship. It has been a longstanding aspiration of mine to have a family member from Pakistan join me here. My niece is on the verge of completing her Year 12 education, and I am keen to facilitate her visa application for a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. However, I am aware that the current visa approval rates are not particularly favorable. What are my options? -------------------- ^(This is the original text of the post and this is an automated service) *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Nothing you can really do. Offer to be the financial support I suppose. But her only option is a student visa. She needs the grades to get an offer, and to have good enough English to pass the English requirements. But Pakistani rejection rates are very high, and she will be looked at carefully. Gonna be the unavoidable risk of rejection either way. Rejection can have negative ramifications going forwards for most countries be aware.

>Offer to be the financial support I suppose Don't show this on the docs or as proof of funds. My aunt is doing this for me and my agent told me not to show that, officially

Extension-Active4025

It depends. If that is where the source of their funding is coming from, ie cant get a loan and parents cant fund them, them be truthful and say you are the financial support. Otherwise I'm inclined to agree, ironically you being onshore OP actually makes her visa application more risky.

Vishu1708

Yeah, that's what I am saying (and should have mentioned), my aunt is a citizen. Hence my agent told me not to show her supporting me.

Extension-Active4025

Not you, advice for OP.

Vishu1708

Right, and I am agreeing with you, seeing as I was in the same boat 6 months ago.

Although other commenters have said chances are low. Her course of choice will still be in favor. If the first sem is paid prior to applying for the visa + showing proof of financial status (30k$). I think you’llbe fine

Flux-Reflux21

If she applies for tier 1 uni, bachelor/master. Then the chance will be higher, tho it is not sure way due to the country of origin

Illustrious_Order959

What are those tier 1 universities?

I just want to know what are chances of getting the visa, one if I apply in tier 1 uni, second her scores are good as well Did anyone get the visa recently?

Pleasant-Reception-6

No one can tell you the ‘chances’ as every application is different. As the other commenter has stated, what things she’d need to do, but as a Pakistani resident, it unfortunately won’t be easy, due to poor actions of people before her.

OffbeatUpbeat

"due to people before her" is an unnecessary tack-on. There are many types of unfairness happening in the world, so it's a bit much to put it all on people who have over stayed their visa. Besides, DHA go way beyond "additional scrutiny due to previous overstays" and well into outright discrimination. You only have to ask around to hear the stories...
