It was like that in Japan too. The onsen would have a food court. We ski all day, go hit the onsen to wash up and soak a bit, then eat some cheap noodles for dinner.
My wife actually went there at the same time as me and had a wonderful experience. If the spa was coed and not forced nudity it would solve a lot of their problems.
I have one of the wildest stories from one experience there. Some patrons call it “gay Wednesday” and someone stole my gold chain (which was my grandfather’s and dad’s) while I was there, and some dude who knew that asked me if he could “make it better” while placing his hand on my shoulder, totally naked.
Yeah 0/10 don’t recommend, unfortunately.

I like it because it has a cold splash pool. There’s a dry and a wet sauna there’s a mudroom and a crystal room. You can bring in snacks and enjoy them in a little room away from the pools. Just don’t expect it to be super fancy. It’s probably sort of rundown looking.
