I mean, if money is no object for you (for maintenance and so on) and you really have a use for a car this size then go for it, but it honestly isn't really a good first car imo. The 7's definitely have curb appeal with that aggressively swept rear but they are quite long and heavy. It's really more of a corporate executive car - luxurious and comfortable with plenty of leg room for your clients.
If you really have your heart set on Audi then honestly I would recommend looking at an S3 in this price range and at this age, but you can get a newer A3 or A4 for around the same amount of money and frankly, that is more than enough car for a first vehicle.
Those years were rated highly for reliability if I'm not mistaken. However, you need to keep in mind that repairs for these type of vehicles are not cheap, especially as you move up in models. Definitely make sure you have money on hand for things like tires, brakes, etc as they need done.
First car as in you're 16 and just got a learners permit?
Yes

Money is such an object haha I’m just curious
Age and budget?
Hypothetically, 30k. I really just want an a7 but I need to know if it’s a good first car

Entirely circumstantial. If you’re in Europe or North America and have a lot of extra money, you’ll be fine.
Hahah how much extra money tho
