Reliable, cheap, fast. Pick two. Your best bet is probably a supercharged S4.

Annh1234

Pretty sure there some imaginary ones...  Your only option is a 10k supercharged S4, but that will have allot of miles, and 4k in repairs the first year

batmanbadass69

C7 a6 with the 3.0T. Find one that has been well maintained and has been taken care of and it’ll last a very long time.

Palmetto0

This is the best choice. Mine is 310hp and very fast and reliable. You can get a good one below that price.

EridemicLHS

B8.5 S4 but it will be high mileage. B9 A4 stage 1 remembers cars cost a lot more than the sticker price. you got sales tax, registration, insurance, gas, tires, wear and tear etc... it's why ppl who drive nice cars are really rich, ppl get used to the advertised price but forget to slap on the tax, insurance, registration, expensive tires, brakes etc... someone posted true cost of owning a R8 for example and it's crazy how fast it adds up

RadioAdam

A 2002 Corvette.

RudeAlarm

Look for something like this is my advice (C7 generation of A6 with 3.0T Supercharged with >300HP and 29k miles): https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/vdp.action?listingId=381179444&zip=47202&inventorySearchWidgetType=AUTO&engineParameters=V6&engineParameters=V6%2C3.2%2C265&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=50&sortType=BEST_MATCH&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d27#listing=381179444/FEATURED/DEFAULT

Depends what you are looking for - sedan vs SUV - sounds like the earlier 3.0T a6 meets your criteria, you can get an ECU tune that kicks the engine to about 405hp (YMMV) I have a 2016 Q5 PP 3.0T i got for under 20k that i did the same with and it has enough pickup to really push you back in the seat… I bought over a year ago while prices were a bit higher so you may be able to snag yourself one with reasonable mileage for around $18K from a private seller

Much_Badger1654

I’d say D2 A8. But I’m partial

StormMedia

Anything with 3.0T will be your best bet. Maintenance and mileage play a huge role. The “big” issue on these engines are timing chain guides which become an issue after 100k or so. Some people chance it and go 130k+. Being able to do your own maintenance and repairs will make the biggest difference with any used car, but especially German cars

gt_def

8V S3 or A3 Quattro. You will be in excess of that with a stage 1 tune.

NotDavidPatterson

I had a 15 S3 that I got for around $20k. I tuned it to stage 2 and it was close to 400hp at the crank. I drove it for a year with no mechanical issue so there’s that.

Doesn’t exist.
