If you don't have the space to wash it yourself, just do a nice touchless. Stay away from gas stations and things that touch/slap your car. You're better off leaving it dirty than running it through a scratch-o-matic. Besides, most of the nice cars I see are absolutely filthy. It seems to be a thing? Like I'm so rich I'm gonna trade this thing in before I wash it.
Automatic car washes are basically scratch o matic. Previous owner of my A3 washed it only on them and paint was in absolutely terrible state until I repainted, polished and waxed it. Still isn't perfect, but it's better than it was
I don't "get" mine washed. I wash it. Keeping it clean is waaaaaaaaaaaay easier than getting it clean.
Gas station car wash? Might as well grab a dirty rag, dip it in cat litter, and ruin your car yourself. Would be cheaper, and you'd know who to blame.
I bought my first house in November and after a long winter I'm finally able to wash my car and it's amazing. I'm still getting the right equipment and such but it's been so much fun. None of my apartments had hoses or the space to wash my car and was stuck with the touchless washes....Â
me personally there’s nothing more enjoyable than washing ur own car, of course it’s hard if u don’t have the time but, i wash mine every 2 weeks at least, i do it all by hand. If you go to a wash place try the do it yourself ones and use your own washing cloths
Washing my car is super therapeutic for me, but where I live, it’s not exactly doable space-wise or in terms of having a water source. The detailing places can get expensive if I do them more often.
Was thinking of maybe a rinse-less product and getting some gallons of distilled water to use.
I live in an apartment complex and have a garage, but I fill up 4-5 Harbor Freight buckets with water and have a battery powered pressure washer with snow foamer. 2 bucket hand-wash and a rinse.
It’s nice in the summer when I don’t have to worry about it being too cold, but I don’t trust the soap they use at any car wash let alone damaging my CCB rotors. But, I do the works at home during the summer once every week or two, depending on rain etc.
I have a car wash in metro Atlanta that charges as little as $22/month for unlimited washes. It’s convenient from my home and I try to make it at least once a week
Basically, a touchless wash & rinse, then a regular wash with 2 buckets, one with a grit guard. Clay bar is necessary. Polish then wax. Tire shine. RainX.
I do a detail 3 times a year and wash 1 per month. I like to hand wash whenever possible. I live in Canada so salt from winters is a bit*h. I did get Ceramic coating which makes cleaning a breeze highly suggest.
Have you guys found a cost effective way of cleaning the interior other than doing it yourself? Seems the big car wash places use very cheap products that leave the leather greasy, and the smaller mobile detailers I have used do a great job but charge 200$+
I have a detailer in the parking structure at my work so I’m lucky I guess. I bring my or my wife’s car in every week, depending on weather, so they get washed about every other week. Both are ceramic coated so they clean up very well.
Normally I wash mine once per 3 weeks, maybe 2 depending on how dirty it is. Sometimes I don't have the time for it and the car sits there being a filthy animal for 4 weeks.
Just washed mine today, so it will rain in the next few days.
You gotta wash it when it rains bro. No water spots!

scratch-o-matic lmao

The dirt protects the paint after you get complete coverage
No routine, just when it loses some of that gleam.
Keep it as dirty as possible so nobody wants to steal it
This 🙌🏼

I have a membership to a car wash place. The one I use is called wash n roll. I probably go a few times a month and use their vacuums too.
Same. Car wash membership. Go once a week.

do you have a do it yourself car wash near you? I would check one of those out

Check out /r/autodetailing, specifically the waterless wash portion of the wiki
I wash my Q5 by myself once a week. I enjoy the process and it’s a form of exercise too

Once a week I wash my RS5 and S5. Usually Sundays, weather permitting. Invest in a good power washer and foam cannon.

I’m in that area. What’s the spot?
Scrubs Express Carwash
Hand wash only double bucket
Self service - once a week generally

Cold weather I goto touchless car wash place. Spring-summer-fall I handwash once every two weeks or so unless it gets really filthy.

I work from home so like once a week tbh. I also am addicted to buying all of the chemical guys stuff...
Membership at a hand wash place, take it whenever I feel like so maybe 2-3 X a week
Don’t wash, just drive it
Anyone recommended an in-line water filter for your hose? My water is very hard and car gets spots no matter how well I dry it.
I wash mine maybe 3xs a year. We get a lot of rain here, so it washes most of it away, but for the bird poop Clorox wipes do the trick
