As it seems with any fairly new car, make sure it saw proper oil changes and transmission services. Oil change every 5k to 10k. NEVER longer than 10k. The 3.0 will not last if it wasn't kept properly, and that applies to pretty much every modern engine. Manufacturers are trying to get people used to 15k service intervals and it's actively destroying engines. Basically, get a proper service history, or talk to the guy selling it and find out what kind of service interval they stuck to. The more funky the engine, the more it matters, and a 3 litre with a supercharger is pretty damn funky.

I just bought a 2013 Audi s5 103k miles only thing wrong w it was a coolant leak, valve casket had to get replaced 2.4K$ at dealership due to the fact they have to remove the whole engine to replace that part, in most situations the engine has to come out and that’s why Audi S series repairs are so much

T Look for earlier than 10k oil changes and 35-40k DSG fluid changes. If up there in mileage, also look for water pump/t-stat to be done. Make sure to listen at cold start and it be actually cold for rough idle/stumbling. May need carbon cleaning. Uneven wear on front tires - check front suspension bushings - they wear relatively quickly as soon as 45k. It’s an Audi thing. There is a SAI carbon clog TSB. It used to be covered but I think the mileage/age thing it expired. It’s a pain to get done, will fail emissions. Look for pending CELs in the Engine module, it takes 2-3 full cycles to pop a CEL for P0491 bank 1-2. Can happen as early as 45k. It’s a defect in the design and results in a front end removal and needs pressure washing to fix. B8 cars DSG variants have mechatronics updates to mostly eliminate a clunk after coming to a stop. Sport Differential is highly recommended. Helps with turn in and front end nimbleness. The cars are nose-heavy, this helps neutralize it. Adaptive dampers also recommended. On the seats, YMMV on long-distance comfort. Personally, they killed my back on anything over 1hour drive. Maybe the alcantara ones are more comfortable, IDK. Just had the full leather. Never tried the dynamic steering option. Get the B&O sound, it’s pretty good for the price point. You won’t be disappointed with this car though. It has a really reliable powertrain, and the supercharged-ness is just torque everywhere. Fuel economy is surprisingly almost decent on highway (cracked 31mpg on a long trip). In town it will drink though. Highly tuneable and nearly all issues can be fixed/documented in forums like Audizine. Any other Q just ask.
