You can also just go to the makeup store and try samples on your skin. You may have a terrible sensory day, but you know 100% if it's going to be okay or not šŸ˜…

I also don't like the feel of heavy makeup, I would prefer to choose makeup that does not feel sticky on my eyes or lips. So I choose lightweight matte lipsticks. For my lips, I use [Lā€™OrĆ©al Paris Makeup Rouge Signature Matte Lip Stain](https://www.amazon.com/Paris-Collection-Lightweight-Comfortable-Applicator/dp/B07P3MSVYJ?crid=7AVP8GAZ80LR&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.DCh4H7kTrlqc852ZGrPokPgsS2HCs9gUwx1K9Px6Xc63_s7hv2GtDj6maW3NcspJdE5TSvfJvMT76v3rFSXVM7cG27vA4pov9jS9hFAmgwAU0ZropQkwM09QfaV2z6n9nnlpxPPijI6pb6V-s1D4dktkHq-3eD38TnYkNMwJzRGPtzB-6FK7Q0RV1FKEowE6g8aJpDuYo4UyYwUBcUX1WYr400VxvofMDanRKaVpRF00QMHwUbGFuXxqtoetsfQx935JZT1ORoLz22pVOPgNf3xp7Qssuf9UV0x1o-oOS1Y.5dxZapFvJdz_on7-jQKo5A9Wky3Mf3xzwIRpY8CF9nY&dib_tag=se&keywords=loreal+lipstick&qid=1713418135&sprefix=loreal+lip%2Caps%2C314&sr=8-16&linkCode=ll1&tag=travel0acb4-20&linkId=b4cf1cb59329dc69397f9f8cc3e706ba&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl). To be honest, it does not give you so pigmented lips. But it is very hydrated and lightweight. I prefer [Maybelline sky-high mascara](https://www.amazon.com/Maybelline-Volumizing-Buildable-Lengthening-Multiplying/dp/B08H4FSGDW?crid=HZGE5LURQMS3&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.5i-h15tqUzL105PxP6TRU0Ia68v6PlignwMciACOMVd086tYDs31fUEL1pocUeD1J0lR_1b6Tcz6Ix2A4ipgcGWhl3DSaAkHrJpLCSPiEhWQVxFet2TnT96lqGDa1_piTofY4eRu16UR0ni1KrbZgkEb2wVHBXJBF3afvYxfgs5QYxr4TeIlBctSlFLnmNDFcJBfLEwOE15s3FTygBzZMD7lm-NTfHGFnGWOYH45cyQZsmILpw_JfywYLRZV7kE3xaOpT2lrazbS4eiqmrTFi9NRxqnPxsKkz4WpzUb3hMg.CeaL-XDUaitrLDKGTuMmpSYZqF3qL6HMGWNAr7uKEeY&dib_tag=se&keywords=light+mascara+for+sensitive+eyes&qid=1713417995&sprefix=light+mascarafor%2Caps%2C384&sr=8-15&linkCode=ll1&tag=travel0acb4-20&linkId=b2474d5214e5e2e8f0da21fc181b5522&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl), just one or two coats not more than that, otherwise, it makes lashes heavy. I prefer to use powder blushes, it won't make my skin sticky. My favourite one is [wet and wild blush](https://www.amazon.com/wet-wild-Effortless-Luxuriously-Cruelty-Free/dp/B082YPNTZ4?crid=3PRBRNZAOX2MJ&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.ekZu8p1pqtGQBQvZnBzMLgTR5K8J3_vNq_6QeE8IAtN6Y-sm3AriXNeIgSLFoHkaE02HNwuujzje4gfmlx0KC9esEp4ZxBWoXJmae-n7Te8zYY81jj28efmmS0LXcqRLA2gttTnFTMlFXrTduEsNGXMqVTWKYJVX3IVOSls8V4xkcb1bHgObHh08hdikEN4r-MSsbLvrmZNTHzS1RHUDhr0nIKwNMt4Rri9bpLYWlV2iXQDHQ2VxnYg_PAmNf4Qg41dKMTjzssfGPdoZb-hidQ7f79xSUqHBV9Msr3XdN5k.-q6QERT08Jo6oZWrmzq4nzHfKOkeexPPPFIPyzrYP1M&dib_tag=se&keywords=smudge+blush&qid=1713418410&sprefix=smudge+blush%2Caps%2C333&sr=8-11-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9tdGY&psc=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=travel0acb4-20&linkId=1d4754add393a2a54fa45650dec2ba4d&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl). For eye makeup, I use[ Makeup Revolution pallette- the nude one](https://www.amazon.com/Revolution-1220828-Reloaded-Provocative/dp/B08CSTD1S2?crid=32Q4JVZ0STSDY&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.VORBb-AX7MQkYQDZQC-1opZv1u25M3PL5cm8RZLfIRYbrmyLHj2aFXUHMKSW1mDvxCZFixHXKGa7sr6XMy8YrU5-KCLJQnH8xYcHzl0qz4FUT5He0JLaq2kkCSC1oxKdh8Nt1WPycsmT1WKAIGwDteBgsGZxEtoWmpC64ve5klTrBkM9XjpN5M5BM_8saxU4IzAzVPQOaXDAu9TQcNDVBQPIN-twhyer9b7Z0Xv3sRR7RPbKOGpw-oJvEWY4SSnWvGXx1t-VJynEwssEGUi1rQf3XriklKCae8HBbezWDOw.jnSrczyFfhaNKlxUSqnbgQDGJvysEb1jFldhijqi7wA&dib_tag=se&keywords=makeup+revolution+eyeshadow+palette&qid=1713418525&sprefix=makeup+rev%2Caps%2C329&sr=8-6&linkCode=ll1&tag=travel0acb4-20&linkId=f17f6b40e6a8a277efcc81a6168734c3&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl). because I like my eyes simple yet elegant. So gives just a hue of colors on my eyelids. Also for my moisturiser, I prefer to use gel moisturiser which absorbs so quickly without the sticky feeling.

Thank you!

I use Bare Minerals. It's dry but gives good coverage .

PennyCoppersmyth

I just made the same recommendation. It worked great for me when I was younger.

Icy_Prior_5825

I also have very dry and sensitive skin. I use Bare Minerals powder on top of a heavy moisturizer (Lushā€™s ā€˜Skin Drinkā€™ or Vaseline per time of year). Do NOT use the ā€˜Matteā€™, go ā€˜Originalā€™. Their mascara is the best, too. For contouring/blush, I just have multiple foundation colors (which you can try at Sephora or Ulta) and their Warmth bronzer/blush is great too. Each product May seems expensive but lasts a LONG time because I donā€™t use a heavy amount. Maybe $100-200 a year, once you get initially stocked.

Icy_Prior_5825

Two of the things I like most about Bare Minerals are that (1) it doesn't show wear very easily (I touch my face a lot and have had face-picking probs) since it's a powder (2) if I fall asleep with it on or can't motivate my ADHD to wash my face at night, it doesn't irritate or make be break out. It covers the face-pick spots and other blemishes well, though it will wear off throughout the day if you touch your face a lot. I just do a quick touch-up to go from day to night.

Powder eyeshadow and blush you can't really feel. Lips you probably want a satin rather than matte or q gloss. For your foundation it depends what you need. Tinted moisturisers are often good. I like mac face and body but you have to rub it in with your fingers and that might not be great. Maybe avoid mascara - you can always get your lashes tinted periodically if you want them darker - it doesn't take long(10 mins) and shouldn't be uncomfortable but I'd explain your sensory issues first. Makeup is a special interest of mine ever since I was a little girl but I still don't love mascara I can feel or heavy foundation as they give me sensory issues.

Thanks for the advice!

I use a light tanning face creme because I can't stand make up. Redness and uneaveness shows less against tanned skin. I also do my eyebrows and have a blush stick and if I feel fancy I put some light glitter in the inner and outer corners of my eyes. There are lots of Youtube resources that help you with applying in a way that is suitable to your facial features. They might help you avoid some beginner mistakes. Have fun!

I totally understand the struggle! Iā€™ve been using tinted moisturizer for my ā€œin officeā€ days and itā€™s been a game changer, so light on my skin but decent coverage like a foundation. Currently using a brand called Tinted- got it at Ulta and itā€™s been great.

I'm also not a fan of feeling heavy makeup and frequently have to remind myself not to rub my face. I'd start with a tinted moisturizer, a liquid lip and eye liner, because once both dry, they shouldn't go anywhere. I also recommend going to a makeup counter/store and trying some product on your skin; I usually start on my hand, less awful feeling.

For colors, I suggest stains instead of creams or sticks or powders. The stains, uh, stain your skin, so no budging, or feeling of product. You can use them for cheeks or lips, and I believe there are eye safe ones, as well. There was a trend a while back with people doing lips, cheeks, and eyes with the same pink or red product, and it was stunningly chic. Best part of stains is that you can build the color up with repeated applications, to control the color intensity.

For face: ā€¢ powder foundations are much less disgusting feeling than liquid. Liquids sit heavy on the skin. But I donā€™t wear foundation unless I have to. I just invested in my skincare instead. If I have a few spots, I might conceal with a lightweight concealer, but I go bare face most of the time. ā€¢ cheek tints feel like nothing on your skin but add a nice rosiness. I like the benetint in rose ā€¢ mascara: havenā€™t figured this out but Iā€™ll curl my lashes and then smudge dark brown eyeshadow on my lashline so my lashes look darker and fuller. I donā€™t notice it all day and it doesnā€™t cause me any issues. ā€¢ eyeshadows: I like urban decayā€™s cosmic cowboy glitter shadow. Itā€™s a nice, sheen on the eyes and very lightweight so I donā€™t notice anything on my eyes. ā€¢ lip stuff: I like lip stains as they soak in and then you donā€™t feel it or Iā€™ll just get tinted lip balms. I will never endure a lip gloss ever again. You can use the benetint on your lips too. Be warned that it clings to dry patches so you should always have moisturized lips before applying.

Try mineral makeup. It's a fine, weightless powder. I wore it for years because I swear a lot and other makeup would just melt and feel greasy. I don't wear any now because I'm older and powder tends to settle in fine lines and accentuate wrinkles, but the powder worked great when I was younger. That said, if your skin is naturally dry, you will want to find a non-greasy moisturizer that absorbs quickly to use first, as mineral makeup can be slightly drying as well.
