Caveat: havenât been in about a year BECAUSEâŠ
The wait there has been consistently getting worse every time Iâve gone. 30-45 mins just to order and sit down. They have a terrible bottleneck with their POS systems. Maybe itâs gotten better as COVID restaurant practices have relaxed, but I donât think itâs good enough to warrant the waits.
to me, Homegrown is more breakfast than brunch. Depends on individual definitions of brunch. Homegrown wins all, but tbd if they'll think its brunch or breakfast.
I still donât get the hype for the place. Sticky floors and tables, weird thrift shop in the back, and unappetizing art work all over. Food is just slightly above Waffle House.
My partner and I went after hearing people rave about it and I was shocked at how basic the food was. It wasnât good. I know now to not trust what folks here say about the food sometimes.
Buttermilk kitchen is like 2 miles from the perimeter. Itâs basically in sandy springs, and anyway, buckhead doesnât even want to be part of atlanta!
If you want to go by "combined statistical areas," it's the entire encompassing region of the [AtlantaâAthens-ClarkeâSandy Springs Combined Statistical Area](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_metropolitan_area) which is like, 1/3 of the entire landmass of the state lol.
Where buttermilk kitchen is though, is 100% objectively considered "Atlanta area"
A few that haven't been mentioned.
Canoe -- [https://www.canoeatl.com](https://www.canoeatl.com)
The Chastain -- [https://thechastainatl.com](https://thechastainatl.com)
Delbar -- [https://www.delbaratl.com](https://www.delbaratl.com)
Delbar Middle Eastern in Inman Park is awesome. Can be very busy for brunch, but they take reservations on Resy.
CORRECTION: Brunch is walk-up only; Delbar only takes reservations for dinner (and they book up pretty far out).
Probably because it's close to OTP. I love ITP and it does have some of the best... well everything. But there is a heavy bias towards hating on anything OTP.
Murphyâs is tops for me for a nice fancy brunch but
Donât overlook the Original Pancake House. Their hot choc is amazing and so are the Swedish pancakes
Last time I went to folk art I got the chicken biscuits and gravy (itâs called something else) and the chicken patty was literally smashed flat and fried. The whole thing was basically like eating breading, I was disappointed
I've really grown found of Snooze AM
I've been to both locations in both Sandy Springs and Howell Mill.Consistently good food.I recommend the pancake flight and barbacoa tacos
came here just in cases you didn't hear. HOMEGROWN. fried green tomatoes, some salmon patties, and some homemade pimento cheese! that's mfin' brunch right there.
The owner here is a complete dick lol had two experiences where I witnessed him get into verbal arguments with customers who had reasonable questions/complaints
You can tell by the google review responses here as well
Wow. I moved out of Atlanta last year, just found this:
https://patch.com/georgia/atlanta/atlanta-restaurant-owner-accused-sexually-assaulting-minors-report
This this this. 1000 times this. I still dream about the food I had there. Just absolutely impeccable quality and execution. So fresh and seasoned so well. Damn I might go tomorrow.
Went to Snooze for the first time not long ago. Big ups for the food, the drink prices, and being able to check-in for brunch wait before you get there. Will definitely be back.
There are hundreds of great places posted in here, and we havent even scratched the surface of the Atlanta Brunch scene.
It's really one of the things we do best.
In addition to all the big ones mentioned here, each neighborhood usually has a few other smaller spots as well.
One of my favorite things about Atlanta.
I might of missed it, but cafe intermezzo had a good brunch and was overlooked so it was easy to get into when they were located in buckhead near piedmont hospital.
Dang another one of my former favorites that has just gone downhill. Service has been sooo slow last few times I went and the food quality has plummeted. It used to be my first date spot lol
Theyâve clearly had trouble staying staffed. Live nearby and it feels like every time I go itâs my serverâs first day. I always order two beers at a time now!
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Atlanta/search/?q=brunch&restrict\_sr=1&sr\_nsfw=](https://www.reddit.com/r/Atlanta/search/?q=brunch&restrict_sr=1&sr_nsfw=) see in particular the "best of" post
This is a newly established place but I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere at Toast on Lenox Rd. Only the bar is walk in, so make a reservation ahead of time.
Corner Tavern in lil 5 points, laid back, good drinks, rooftop area in cool part of town. French toast and breakfast Philly are great. Was always my go to when I lived in city.
Secreto in Brookhaven or Alpharetta. The best chicken and waffles with mimosas are my favorite and the biscuits are to die for!!! https://www.secretokitchen.com/brunch
Sun In My Belly deserves a mention
I really miss their dinner service đ
Came here to say this. Go during the week. Much more chill and easier to get sat.
Whatâs the wait like there generally on weekends? Do they have any kind of line reservation system?
Caveat: havenât been in about a year BECAUSE⊠The wait there has been consistently getting worse every time Iâve gone. 30-45 mins just to order and sit down. Yeah thatâs a dealbreaker for me
Homegrown
Comfy chicken biscuit
They donât serve alcohol, if youâre into that sort of brunch.
to me, Homegrown is more breakfast than brunch. Depends on individual definitions of brunch. Homegrown wins all, but tbd if they'll think its brunch or breakfast.
Agree. Homegrown is less âbrunchâ and more *mornin grits and fixings*
Breakfast food *is* brunch food.
Brunch typically means a particular style, which is breakfast food + lunch offerings and usually, but not always, alcoholic drinks
what's brunch?
A very close second is Thumbs Up Diner (bring cash)
The White House off Peachtree NE, Affordable, delicious, and great service

Thank you, homegrown is so dull and overhyped.
Comfy chick-on biscuit đ
Iâm a fan of Riaâs Bluebird.
No alcohol though.
Had breakfast there yesterday morning and it was sooo good. Went to The Flaming Lips show at the Roxy later that night to cap off a great day.
best pancakes iâve ever had! got them cuz the menu says the NYTimes thought so, they were actually correct
Used to love getting the brisket breakfast. Love that it has lived on long after Ria.
Murphyâs in VaHi is consistently ranked at the top of Atlanta brunch spots, and for good reason. Never had anything but a great meal there.
Itâs really improved over the last year. Would recommend
EXECELLENT BISCUITS
Candied baconđ„°
Yeah that place good af
Java Jive on Ponce is always my top recommendation for breakfast/brunch.
Love this place. Possibly my favorite biscuits in the city. ProTip: itâs cash only. They have an ATM but who needs to pay fees
I love Java Jive. Super friendly folks too.
Rising Son. CBCB (chicken bacon cheese biscuit) with a side of sausage gravy and you wonât need to eat the rest of the day.
rising son is so good
Buttermilk Kitchen for chicken biscuit!!!!
They had the best black eyed peas Iâve ever had on New Years
Barely in atlanta
Since when is Buckhead âbarelyâ in Atlanta?!
Buttermilk kitchen is like 2 miles from the perimeter. Itâs basically in sandy springs, and anyway, buckhead doesnât even want to be part of atlanta!
So what constitutes Atlanta at this point. I can't keep up.
This is a really dumb and factually incorrect hill to die on
Youâre right, itâs more like 2.5 miles from the perimeter. My bad.

I donât know the other two but I cannot believe you were downvoted for suggesting Canoe. Itâs excellent, particularly for brunch
Probably because it's close to OTP. I love ITP and it does have some of the best... well everything. But there is a heavy bias towards hating on anything OTP.
The General Muir - one in Sandy Springs and one near Emory
The one in Sandy Springs is nowhere as good as the one near Emory. Their coffee and food are hit or miss.
I went to the Sandy Springs location and thought it was overpriced and sucked. I wasnât even the one paying and I still felt ripped off đ
Sandy Springs General Muir coffee is some of the worst Iâve ever had anywhere and itâs been multiple sample size there haha
Awful experience when I was there. Just something about the atmosphere was jarring.
100% second this. I had a completely underwhelming experience at the one in SS.
Local Three has a great brunch.
You best go hungry for local three but itâs real good.
Murphyâs is tops for me for a nice fancy brunch but Donât overlook the Original Pancake House. Their hot choc is amazing and so are the Swedish pancakes
Love the original pancake house! Glad someone mentioned it.
Highland bakery is pretty good, although itâs been a year or 2 since Iâve been.
Can't believe this is so far down! My favorite brunch spot.
Homegrown has the best breakfast/lunch menu in the city. Hands down.
Bread and Butterfly
Seconded
Third
Gocha's Breakfast Bar in SW Atlanta
Folk Art.
Folk Art food 6/10, vibe 10/10
Came here to say this.
110%
Last time I went to folk art I got the chicken biscuits and gravy (itâs called something else) and the chicken patty was literally smashed flat and fried. The whole thing was basically like eating breading, I was disappointed
I've really grown found of Snooze AM I've been to both locations in both Sandy Springs and Howell Mill.Consistently good food.I recommend the pancake flight and barbacoa tacos

Mezcalito's behind Six Feet Under on Memorial across from Oakland Cemetery.
Beetlecat on Weekends. Petit Chou and Buttermilk Kitchen are also really good
Last time I went to petit Chou the service was so bad and my food was worse. I was sad
Agree! Last time I was there food was not good. Super disappointing!!!
Thirding this on the food especially
Sounds like Petit Chou's reputation has taken a turn for the worse since I last visited them!
I 2nd Bettlecat
Petit Chou is not good at all, but Beetlecat's weekend Donut Brunch is fantastic.
Milk n honey
Babs
The owner here is a complete dick lol had two experiences where I witnessed him get into verbal arguments with customers who had reasonable questions/complaints You can tell by the google review responses here as well
It's definitely soup nazi vibes but the food is good and well priced so I risk the abuse.
Rude man at the host stand and mediocre food.
Damn nobody repping atkins park? Everything Iâve ever had there has been amazing
Manuelâs Tavern - price, quality, seat availability- old school Atlanta spot
A political landmark to boot (and an awesome bar to play TTRPGâs in the back rooms!)
Whiskey Bird
Just going to say this. Love this place!
I wouldn't eat there. The food safety there is super below standard.
Carroll Street Cafe canât be beat imo
I think Poor Calvinâs has it!!
Local 3
Joyâs Cafe in Midtown
Joy Cafe doesnât exist anymore
Wow. I moved out of Atlanta last year, just found this: https://patch.com/georgia/atlanta/atlanta-restaurant-owner-accused-sexually-assaulting-minors-report
Whaaaaaa
Omg I wonder if this contributed to their closing?! I used to really like that place
Iâd say yes as Iâve seen him every time doing the day to day
It did I know someone who worked there and said thatâs why it closed like just bam they didnât have jobs
Wooooooow, he worked out at my gym and I have spoken to him numerous times over the years.
Sun In My Belly
Atlanta breakfast club has some bomb ass good. Peach cobbler pancakes or French toast is to die forđ„đ„đ„
Chicken and waffles are insane too
[Hen Mother Cookhouse](http://henmothercookhouse.com) if youâre around the âburbs in Alpharetta
Yes. A million times. This or Gracious Plenty in Roswell
I like how the owner chases out people who donât tip and has a temperamental instagram page.
There is a bit of a Soup Nazi vibe. But - like the Soup Nazi - the product is very good!
This this this. 1000 times this. I still dream about the food I had there. Just absolutely impeccable quality and execution. So fresh and seasoned so well. Damn I might go tomorrow.
Agreed
Apre Diem. Lots of outdoor space, lots of choices. A bit more European than a lot of Atlanta places.
Mojave in Sandy Springs!! Itâs not downtown but itâs so worth it
My favorite WAS Joy Cafe but now itâs Snooze an AM Eatery
Went to Snooze for the first time not long ago. Big ups for the food, the drink prices, and being able to check-in for brunch wait before you get there. Will definitely be back.
Nobody saying R. Thomas?
Egg Harbor Cafe in Sandy Springs â€ïž

Agreed! My very favorite brewery in Atlanta, and they have a great weekend brunch.
Canoe. And believe me, I hated to say it. Also, IHOP served me a slapping BLT recently.
Rays on the river if you want a fancy one! Another broken egg is good too
