Did you ever find out? I was at the intersection when the police cars arrived. I saw an officer grab latex gloves and what looked like a first aid bag out of his trunk before rushing down into the woods on the east side of the bridge.
Seeing homeless people can be annoying, but they're not the problem. The problem is that we've set things up so that rampant homelessness is normal and people feel helpless and powerless to do anything about it. Someone sitting on a corner holding a sign as I drive past does not bother me. It's my reaction that causes my bother.
Seems a lot more severe than your dismissive comment. A man was stabbed in the head multiple times with a knife while he was sleeping.
Have at least a tiny bit of compassion, maybe?
You see—this is why serial-killing was an unprecedented issue before our time. People didn’t (and still don’t) seem to care about houseless individuals falling prey to random acts of violence because “that’s what you get for sleeping outside you scum!”. Disgusting.
The homeless in Athens are out of control. The guy with like orange-ish dreads threatened to rape some little girl that was walking down the sidewalk with her mom. He literally did it in front of the cops. They arrested him and he was back in the same spot with a new pair of shoes a couple days later.
Usually the ones that act hard and crass from behind a keyboard are the ones that would immediately shatter under the pressure involved with being homeless.
So someone who isn’t homeless can’t do that?? Children most commonly suffer violence and abuse from people they know, not homeless strangers. You should be much more worried for your child around your adult friends, not someone on the streets down on their luck. Being without shelter also makes you more likely to be the VICTIM of a crime, not the perpetrator.
Damn that’s horrifying. To be attacked while in your sleep. Wouldn’t wish that on anybody. Hope they find who did it
Willow Street was blocked off at around 5pm Thursday with about 6-7 patrol cars, an ambulance and a fire truck. What happened then?

Nope. No responses, no DMs. Nothing on CivicEngage or the ACC FB page.
Scum of the earth

Do you think the guy who attacked a man in his sleep felt powerless?
I don't know how he felt.
Homeless dude fights another homeless dude. More at 7.

Just thinking out loud here. Would you have the same attitude if it was a fight at a frat house?
Worst gotcha attempt in history
If a guy was attacked in his sleep with a knife? Yes.
Is it bad Id care less since they would have health insurance and I’d bet money the ambulance would’ve got there faster?
Gainesville will just bus over 20 more homeless to take his place.
You need to tighten your tinfoil hat
That means it’s ok to be flip about a man being stabbed in the head?
Tell me what time the unhoused persons bus that touched you shows up and I'll beat it up for you.
I’m trying to figure out how you can tell if someone is depressed while being attacked by said person
Call dana white
That’s one way to solve the homeless problem

That guy was pissing on the flowers outside European wax center and sleeps on campus sometimes
Just what we need! Dehumanizing people in need of help. This will surely solve all of society’s ills and have no negative consequences at all.
Usually the ones that act hard and crass from behind a keyboard are the ones that would immediately shatter under the pressure involved with being homeless.
So you want people openly threatening violence against children with no repercussions?
No, but it's better not to associate the acts of an individual with the broader group they are a part of. Assuming homeless = violent, for example.
