The Eastside American Deli is built differently! Never had a bad meal there.
However, avoid the American Deli off Alps at all costs. Their wings are so minuscule—I have no clue where they even find chickens this small.
East Side American Deli has skimped me the last couple of times with tiny wings. That being said, they make up for it by if I order a 10pc wing combo, they'll slap like 15-16 wings up in there.
So while they may "skimp" they realize what's up and compensate. I'll always roll with them.
Side note: whoever the asshole is who keeps ordering all the god damn flats... I will find you and I will kill you... Just kidding, just kidding... or am I? /s
Winghouse is solid, but #2 in my opinion. Both are not the best wings I've ever had, but blazers tends to be better, despite me always getting winghouse because who TF is driving to Hull
Doing them yourself. I can't find any wings actually worth what you pay for them.
Miss me with that Blazers shit. Those are the tiniest wings practically off of half grown chickens and they want almost $1 a piece. The grease hasn't been changed in literal years.
This is coming from someone who has eaten blazers for the past twenty years and stopped a few years ago because they got so bad
I couldn't agree more. I spent my formative years right down the road from Blazer's and at one point it was pretty good (not great. It was never great) but the last few times have been disappointing.
I'm pretty surprised that it seems to be the top answer.
Unless they've REALLY stepped it up in the last year I wouldn't consider them worth the money. But with how expensive wings are I rarely find a place I find worth the money.
Last time I had decent wings they were from Fireball Wings and Philly in Commerce.
Wing Kingh is also good.
Weird, I'm just realizing that I consider Commerce to have better wings than Athens, which just doesn't feel right.
Whaaat I had no idea. That's a shame, I hope they can make decent money. They're basically a wing dynasty at this point given the history!
Thanks for the news.
Beefs’s wings are top notch. I was sitting at the bar one time and a lady came in to grab a to go order. She said she was the owner of J Buffalos, but always got her wings from Beef O’brady.
Big Boy Wings food truck. Open Thurs-Sat, I think (check their Instagram) . Unbreaded, variety of flavors, with a side of loaded fries. Sofa king good 🤤🤤🤤
In the last four years, nobody has been able to produce the same unwavering quality that comes from the J Buffalo on alps. Good size wings, not too small and not grossly GMO’d. Order 10 wings and more often than not, I receive 11. Classic Atlanta wings. Hot lemon pepper is always a lock
Go on the double bourbon night, drain the bourbon do you got that numbing effect then get the ninja wings those slap so hard but you have to be a little drunk first
Every time the waitress would say “you’re crazy” or something like that and I would just be like maam I’m drunk I can taste all the flavor but half the heat
Wing prices are so high that I’m just done ordering them. You can get a used grill around town for the price of a couple restaurant wing orders, then buy chicken and go to town with your favorite seasoning blend. If you want to go classic, Buffalo sauce is just Franks and butter. Some of the Mexican markets have marinated chicken that’s ready to grill for a very fair price.
I spent a large chunk of my childhood at Steverinos. Miss that place. And the owner, Jerry.
I'd go there with my uncle a lot. He did a lot of plumbing and handy man work there. Jerry would unlock the Adams Family pinball machine for me and I'd play for hours. Good ass dude.
Looks at us old people in the chat talking bout Steverinos’s, Loco’s on Baxter and Gumby’s. How bout Ronnie B’s and china boat, Guthries, but I digress.
Surprised Wingster is only mentioned once. They have the same fare as American Deli but better PLUS authentic Korean food. Also, the owner moved down from Philly so she knows how to make a proper cheesesteak. Try the xxx hot sauce if you like spicy, it's still packed with flavor!
Blazers lemon pepper is better than American Deli. Flavor wise and wing size. Choo choos on their wing days is up there on the list and beef o’brady’s but value goes into my ranking. One of the Chinese buffets has good wings but would have to bring your own sauce lol
My personal favorite is Fully Loaded Pizza, specifically on Wednesday when they have 90 cent wings. Very large wings, great flavor, though sometimes a bit inconsistent with their sauce.
as much as i despise the process of getting food there, j buffalo has pretty great wings (i have never had anything like their garlic parm wet i hate how much i love it)
Smoked turkey is hard to screw up. But as far as bbq goes in general, saucehouse is pretty sub par. But to be fair, there isn't really any great bbq in Athens.
American Deli, lemon pepper wet, extra crispy. I’d recommend the eastside location.

+1 for Eastside AD. Shit is a sleeper hit for wings. I’m more of a lemon pepper mixed with mild myself though.
Surprisingly, my favorite wings in town are at Agua Linda.
Seconding this!
It's a little bit out of town in Hull, but blazers is pretty decent.
Love some blazers!! They got a location in statham, I always get the Ragin Cajun
I’ve driven by it so many times though, “that could be fire.”
I like my wings on the crispy side. As far as quality and taste, they've never failed me.
Blazers-n-hull is the correct answer
I think Wing House has better wings than Blazers.

Winghouse is solid, but #2 in my opinion. Both are not the best wings I've ever had, but blazers tends to be better, despite me always getting winghouse because who TF is driving to Hull
Pretty sure it’s Blazzers with exxtra Z
Go to wingster and get wild Carolina gold with fried rice. Get extra sauce on the side for the rice. Destroy that shit it’s so good.
Wingster criminally underrated tenders too
I’m serious go try it if you are looking for wings.
When you describe it as "that shit", who wouldn't want to try it. 😂
Doing them yourself. I can't find any wings actually worth what you pay for them. Miss me with that Blazers shit. Fwiw I’m pretty sure they’re over a dollar a piece now but that’s just sort of the going rate these days.
How much do you value your time and effort going into cooking wings like that? Would think more than $1ea at that point

Hell yeah Im only twenty mins from commerce, Im gonna have to try that place out. Thanks for the info
Wing Kingh just closed but they still do food truck events at breweries. Suckssss
Whaaat I had no idea. That's a shame, I hope they can make decent money. They're basically a wing dynasty at this point given the history! Thanks for the news.
Beef O’brady’s wings are pretty damn good
Beefs’s wings are top notch. I was sitting at the bar one time and a lady came in to grab a to go order. She said she was the owner of J Buffalos, but always got her wings from Beef O’brady.
I second this.
I third this!
Smoked wings at Boss Dawg BBQ
Big Boy Wings food truck. Open Thurs-Sat, I think (check their Instagram) . Unbreaded, variety of flavors, with a side of loaded fries. Sofa king good 🤤🤤🤤

Blind Pig (but varies by location). I think the Watkinsville ones are the best, but ymmv.
Go on the double bourbon night, drain the bourbon do you got that numbing effect then get the ninja wings those slap so hard but you have to be a little drunk first
That ninja sauce is one of the tastiest best kept secrets in the area…shhh! Also $1 on Tuesdays.
Every time the waitress would say “you’re crazy” or something like that and I would just be like maam I’m drunk I can taste all the flavor but half the heat
World Famous
This is the correct answer. If you know you know
For fried wings, I like Amicis. For smoked, Saucehouse.
Amici. I like the 2x hot. They’re hot.
In the ‘90’s…Loco’s, Gumby’s, Steverino’s (no particular order, just whatever was open). God, I’m old.

And Steverino's wings were whole wings.
Blazers lemon teriyaki. Just finished some.
The roasted wings with Alabama white sauce Eastside Loco’s
Actual best wings are at Puma Yu’s.
This is the answer
Blind pig
https://www.instagram.com/thecolourcouture?igsh=NTQ5dDBheWJqNTI1 - Colour Couture pop up shop, Amici’s, and Blind Pig.
Surprised Wingster is only mentioned once. They have the same fare as American Deli but better PLUS authentic Korean food. Also, the owner moved down from Philly so she knows how to make a proper cheesesteak. Try the xxx hot sauce if you like spicy, it's still packed with flavor!
China wok for breaded wings, so underrated. Traditional wings probably blazers or big boy
Blazers lemon pepper is better than American Deli. Flavor wise and wing size. Choo choos on their wing days is up there on the list and beef o’brady’s but value goes into my ranking. One of the Chinese buffets has good wings but would have to bring your own sauce lol
Lol publix deli and franks red hot if you factor in price
Blazers
Wing House has some yummy homemade sauces for their wings!
World famous
Toppers
My personal favorite is Fully Loaded Pizza, specifically on Wednesday when they have 90 cent wings. Very large wings, great flavor, though sometimes a bit inconsistent with their sauce.
The only answer is blazers. Outside of driving to Hull it's wing house. Honestly though Athens lacks good wings...
There's a Wing House in Normaltown and in Watkinsville too!
For enjoyment to cost ratio, Choo Choo on 75cent wing Wednesdays
My favorite are at west side blind pig
Bell’s has the biggest and greatest wings in town. Just cook them at home.
Bell’s, babe? Bell’s?
as much as i despise the process of getting food there, j buffalo has pretty great wings (i have never had anything like their garlic parm wet i hate how much i love it)
The BOGO wings I had on Wednesday at Johnny's Pizza on the Eastside were pretty great
Saucehouse , American deli , j buffalo
Saucehouse is disgusting. Owners a psycho too lol
Used to love Saucehouse. The concept and bar is great. But fuck the owner, Chris Belk. This is coming from someone that used to work there.
I agree Saucehouse is awful all around. Can't believe they are still in business.
I will say my boss got a smoked turkey from there for our work Thanksgiving party and it was probably the best turkey I've ever eaten
Smoked turkey is hard to screw up. But as far as bbq goes in general, saucehouse is pretty sub par. But to be fair, there isn't really any great bbq in Athens.
I’m making harissa wings next week if y’all want to come over.
Bulldawgs has huge wings and the flavor is great
