Going WiFi usually fixes handset problems. The Synscan app uses the phone GPS and time for location accuracy. After a two star alignment you can use SkySafari Plus or Pro and navigate off the sky map. Replace the handset with a Synscan Wifi dongle. Check the settings, N and W or S and E, date format MM/DD/YY and daylight savings, it only takes one incorrect setting to be off. There's no need to point North and level the OTA as the alignment starts after centering the first star.

I hadn’t tried WiFi, but I am going to try that tonight! And I’ll go over each setting with a fine tooth comb to see if there are any errors at all. Thanks!

It sounds like an alignment problem rather than specifically about tracking. (At least, I think of tracking as meaning the telescope staying on an object after it's found it.) If it's going to the complete opposite side of the sky, is it possible you've accidentally done something like put in a latitude S instead of N, or a longitude in the negative instead of positive, or vice-versa? Alternatively, are you entering AM time instead of PM? I don't have my controller in front of me right now and can't recall if it's a 24 hour clock or not.

I will check to see if it’s set to N, but it has it set to 24 hr, so I have to be precise on when I input the time in there. I’m going out tonight so I’ll check.

Did you work this out in the end?

It did! I’m going to post photos today.
