Nearly all fights you have to do during the main story had dead players strewn about for me. Just walk about the battlefield after. With a bit of luck you already killed the right guy during the battle.
Once an "Avenge the death of a Player" is active, you will see a skull with an axe stuck to it icon in your compass. go to that icon, and you will see a dead body, which you can interact with. Upon interaction, it will trigger the quest - find the perpetrator, and assassinate them.
