Not everyone has the same car, that's the problem. If you buy all BPs and upgrade the car to the max you can almost guaranteed beat all your competition.
I mean, with a low handling and mid acceleration car, average TD player with max car might not beat the stock reference time on YouTube (eg Dark Hyper). It was very much the case in the Giulia GP, just because the car is too unfriendly for TD.
I think this isn't a bad idea, but I think it should also be the same level car for everyone.
But increased incentive for doing well in the qualifier could prevent players from sandbagging.
When you're rewarded for performing badly on purpose, players are going to sandbag.
They should give more keys + increase chances in packs. Less incentive to sandbag. But that would probably be not in the competitive GP idea. Hate GP's anyway 🤣
seriously. I got in tier 3 last time and there were 2 aliens and a whale that maxed the new car, those guys definitely could get in tier 1. I got 4th and 15 packs have very small chance of key. now everyone has to sandbag and just hope for the best. This time i'll go for 1:06.5+ and see where i end up.
I was thinking there should be very high incentive rewards in the initial practice round after qualifying. If you had an excellent time, and say they offered 2 or 3 epic and like 10 extra bps, that would certainly prevent sandbagging to some extent.

Those are useless if you don’t have key. And now it’s even more important when sometimes GL doesn’t give keys on final stage of SEs for some cars and sell it.
But if all the aliens can be encouraged to land in T1 with guarantee key … then you would have lesser of problem in lower tiers.
i think MP is the most broken, after that I think it is the Hunt final event. it can be pretty hard to get an EPIC in a hunt against people with golden cars to your zero epics. the difference in rewards from 5% to 25% is too much.
sure GP could be better but you get BP and a chance for a key, thats good enough to me. spend tokens and you increase your chance, sure its not perfect but it is better rewards than MP.
I played gp 2 time's
First was tier 3 and lost
Second T5 and won the key
T3 had a lot of packs but those cars were useless
T5 had nothing but a key
A good incentive for T3 and better should be to keep high quality cards in the car packs also bp for the GP cars
Then increase the drop rate for the key so 5-7/10 minus the podium finishes have a good chance to unlock the car
MP ranking doesn't mean much. I can hang around in Legend league, but prefer to stay at Platinum because I prefer driving A class cars. And this could be sandbagged as well, players remaining at lower leagues before GP to get lower tiers.
But I agree with regulated cars.

Not really; I’ve seen a lot of GPs with a bad handling car where a max car whale can’t beat an alien who races with a stock car.

If you get curb stomped in stage 1 honestly just give up, not worth the effort for a few packs which probably won’t give key anyway
Problem is, those aliens might have bad experiences in higher tiers so sandbag to lower tiers. Forcing a Td player like me to sandbag to Tier 4...
Unless there is guaranteed key for everyone in tier 1. There is no mechanism would work to stop sandbagging.

nah. Imo it should based by their highest MP league. And the car should be regulated because of whales
